About The Owner

Hi. I am Marybeth. I own River Willow Cottage at 449 NW Riverfront Street, Bend, OR 97701. Living on the river in the downtown area is most enjoyable. It is fun to share this special place under the 100 year old Willow Tree. I personally take care of every amenity to provide the best vacation home for my guests.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2000
Why The Owner chose Bend

I love Bend and wanted to live on the river close to downtown.

What makes this cottage unique

I walk my dog, Hank along the river trail to the Old Mill District. Also walk to the Les Schwab Ampitheater to enjoy a concert .. just 8 minutes away. I also walk downtown to meet friends for dinner. The cottage is only 12 feet from the river with a private patio and river access for kayaking, canoeing and floating.

My husband and I stayed here with our young daughter over Spring break, and very much enjoyed our stay. The location is terrific for walking down to 10 Barrel for dinner, or relaxing to hang out on the riverside patio after a day up at the mountain. Our daughter loved observing the ducks on the river. Marybeth was very kind and welcoming, and she also gave us a great tip on the breakfast spot in town! We'll be back in the warm weather.

We spent the weekend in this adorable cottage and wanted to stay longer. The river is within steps of the back deck which makes for a great view! The cottage was stocked with everything we needed for a weekend getaway. The furnishings are so well done and so comfortable. We can't wait to visit again!

Idyllic Cottage in Bend

This was an idyllic setting to spend 5 days in Bend. Perfectly located for walking to Drake Park and downtown. At the same time, it was hard to leave our little patio right on the Deschutes river where we had wine every evening while watching everyone float by on a warm summer evening. Marybeth has thought of everything you might need, which is organized and available in the cottage. This was a great place to stay in Bend. We look forward to going back.

We came to both Portland and Bend from Texas in August to take a vacation out of the heat. Bend and this cottage were a home run by all of our criteria. Marybeth was supremely friendly and kind, the cottage was cute and well stocked with everything from local beers and wines in the fridge to paperbacks and games. In fact, we spent one whole day drinking wine on the patio, playing backgammon, reading and eating cheese and crackers, watching the floaters and tubers (people in inner tubes, not potatoes) go down the river. Oh--Marybeth even has extra floats, so we did that, too.

We also found Bend itself to be pretty special. If you like hiking, biking, walking, drinking coffee, drinking beer, hanging out in outdoor restaurants, fly-fishing, skiing, picnicking, floating down a river, or just hanging out--Bend is for you.

Our Week in Bend

We had a wonderful week in Bend and MaryBeth's River Willow Cottage was the best place to stay! A darling one room cottage with everything you would ever need, plus a patio up close view of the river made our stay one to remember. The cottage is very well decorated, neat and clean and a great place to call home in Bend. It is located close to the park and downtown and other walking trails. We enjoyed walking along the river each morning before our trips to Crater Lake, Smith Rock, McKenzie Pass and Tumalo Falls. Bend has so many places to visit and things to do. MaryBeth and her dog Hank made us feel welcome and she was always making sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend the River Willow Cottage for your stay in Bend, Oregon!

This is a great place for a couple to stay. The photos don't really do the place justice, it is literally on the river, and the french doors open onto a beautiful view. The place has everything that you need to be comfortable, and the owner has even put in some snacks and drinks so that when we first got there we could just relax. It is an easy walk through Drake's Park into downtown. This place has everything that a couple could need for a super relaxing, romantic weekend.

We stayed more than a week at this perfect cottage and we can't wait to figure out how to get ourselves back there. There were two of us, and every aspect of the amenities are really well thought out for you by your hostess and her gorgeous and calm canine, Hank. The extras made our jaws drop and we were so happy to find ourselves here after a long long drive to Bend. You can walk to everywhere from this location. The place is spotless, efficient, and the best restful sleep we've had in years. The bed is very comfy and the privacy is unbelievable for what you might think being in the rear of a larger home. We had our parents join us for evening patio time and it was like our own home away from home feeling. Marybeth shares all her water toys and backyard space with you, and she has thought of everything and she clearly works hard on all details herself to make sure you're experience is perfect. IT WAS! We thank her for the thoughtfulness of the entire experience. 'Hope to see the little place on the rivewr sometime again very soon. We will never ever forget this paradise complete with waterfowl, birds in the trees and the most amazing flower garden on all sides of you. What a dream.

My girlfriend & I stayed for a "girls getaway" last spring and we had a fabulous time! The cottage is nicely decorated, all amenities are provided and it is literally steps from the river! There is a nice yard and it is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to everything! Mary Beth provides everything you need for a great getaway! I am looking forward to booking my next stay with my husband and my dog who I know will love it!

Even though it was chilly in Bend when we stayed at Willow Cottage (in fact, it even snowed), we had six quite cosy nights there, thanks to the excellent gas stove. The furniture and other amenities are high-quality and very comfortable, and the shower was great. Marybeth had the cabinet well stocked with snacks and drinks, and the fridge was big enough for our morning milk, leftovers, etc. The beautiful location can't be beat! All in all, Willow Cottage is a fantastic value. We look forward to staying there in the summer, when we can really take advantage of the lovely patio.
