Great, quiet spot

We stayed here with our three children last week. It is a great home that is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to all of San Francisco. The home is spacious and has all the things you could need while away. We highly recommend the spot!

Genuinely spacious rental, ideal for any stay

English Tourist United Kingdom
Review Submitted: August 11, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Four of us, including two older kids found this a very good rental. The house is well equiped and we found all equipment working importantly including the wifi working in every room, as described.

The local shops and restaurants are well worth exploring in a friendly neighbourhood. We particularly enjoyed the local noodle cafe for a great inexpensive meal, and the fish restaurant at 9th and Lincoln which was expensive but fantastic. I don't even want to count the number of pancakes we ate for breakfast at M's cafe !

Access to the centre of San Francisco is easy via the tram that leaves every few minutes from 9th and Judah and costs just $2 and takes just half an hour. We visited most of the tourist spots using public transport and would strongly recommend doing so.
Alcatraz was a particular highlight and we could have done without the crush of crowds at fishermans wharf.

We hired a car and went over to see the giant Redwoods at Muir Woods, Stinson Beach and points north. We also went to Napa Valley to see round some vinyards sample the wines.

The house does have a few minor downsides, the garage door was too narrow for the car we hired but that was mentioned in the blurb. It was clean and tidy when we arrived but some of the bedding and decor are begining to show their age a little. Inner sunset also falls within the zone that can experience summer fogs, but it's always sunny inland and further down the coast.

Those caveats didn't make any difference to our holiday, we really enjoyed our stay at this in San Francisco and thorougly recommend this property.

Good family vacation home

SF vacationer Redlands, CA
Review Submitted: May 14, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We had a great vacation in this home. The house is spacious and well arranged with a large, beautiful dining table. The only problems we encountered were the tiny garage door opening and the dryer did not work very well. We drive a Toyota Highlander and we were able to pull the car in the garage which is a HUGE perk to this home since street parking in SF is a bear. However, it was a tight squeeze and we had to fold the mirrors in to get in. You also can't have the hatch back door open when you open the garage door. The clothes dryer took about three cycles before it would actually dry anything, but these were minor inconveniences and I would rent this property without any reservation when we return to SF. It is beautifully decorated, conveniently located and has a well-stocked kitchen. The gates at the top and bottom of the stairs were critical to our vacation happiness since we have a toddler.

A gem in the Sunset!

Review Submitted: March 31, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
This past week (and after much planning), my wife and I spent a marvelous break from our east coast winter with our daughter, her husband and their two kids (11 and 6) in this wonderful haven on Lawton St. It’s always a hit or miss proposition to select a place to stay and a bad choice spoils the whole trip. This house was spot on and significantly contributed to what we all agree is one of the better ‘togethers’ we’ve ever had. In a very convenient location with all the necessary shops and eateries in walking distance or close by, the retreat was near perfect for our purposes. The beds all comfortable, the kitchen very well appointed and whole property gently rocked with charm and personality. We all felt very relaxed from the moment we dropped our bag upon entering. Downsides? Yes, a couple…the dryer is slow to dry a load and the blender needs a fix. Parking is problematic but surmountable. We blocked our own driveway and had no problem. All and all, as said, a grand venue. Thanks Bill and Elizabeth.

Lovely Home in Great Location- again!

Review Submitted: December 29, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
This is our third time staying at this home to visit family in San Francisco. The house is spacious and comfortable for the 5 of us and has such a great feeling that we ended up spending much of our time gathered here for quality time. We hosted Thanksgiving dinner here for 10 and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. The formal dining room has a wonderful big table that seated all of us comfortably.

It is a beautiful house with lots of character, a fireplace and gorgeous wood floors. The layout with 3 bedrooms upstairs was perfect for us.

Since I'm a neat freak, I love that it's always clean and fresh, stocked with extra pillows and lots of towels; my husband loves the plasma TV, garage and fast WiFi. The kids like being so close to Golden Gate Park and the street is safe and peaceful.

The location is excellent- walking distance to many restaurants and we are still trying new ones. We like Park Chow, Marnee Thai and Arizmendi Bakery. The new Academy of Sciences building and De Young Museum are a nice walk away- which we recommend since parking looked scarce on the weekends. We appreciate having a garage to come back to for our longer day trips but opted to take public transport downtown. It was very convenient, just one block away.

We definitely will be back next year and recommend it for anyone looking to have space and comfort but still be in the middle of this fun city!

Family Hol in San Fran

Jacpot Edmonton, AB, Canada
Review Submitted: November 18, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
Property was clean but had a slight musty smell.

Good location close to light rail service which our young kids enjoyed walking to and riding downtown. Only ever had to wait five minutes for a train.

Only one block from a corner grocery store which stocked everything we needed.

Owner was very helpful and accommodating.

Approx 4 blocks from the Golden Gate park which was lovelly to walk around in.

Extra large dining table which had room for all family members activities such as colouring in, cards, meals.

Only one complaint is that pictures on the website of furniture are not accurate as most of it has been changed. Still very comfortable though. Linen is starting to become tired and could do with replacing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would stay here again.

Great Place to Stay for a Group of Tourists!

mh Chicago, IL
Review Submitted: January 30, 2008 Date of Stay: January 2008
We came as a group of friends from Chicago for a long weekend break from snow and freezing weather and we were so lucky to come across this location!! With 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen and separate dining/living room there was plenty of space to spread out. We loved the dining room table - it was perfect for playing cards on any night we didn't want to leave. This house is a few doors away from buses and only 3 blocks away from MUNI trains - We were thrilled to not need a car. There are convenience stores nearby, but if you're looking for an actual grocery store, you will probably need to take a cab or have a car. Just a few blocks to many restaurants and bars as well! This property is well-maintained and the owners are delightful to deal with. Our only complaints were that there were not really any extra blankets and there was a faint smell of mildew - though we felt it might have come from some sheets left in/on the washer/dryer. It certainly did not keep us from having a great time! I would recommend this property to other users.

Wonderful stay

Review Submitted: November 25, 2007 Date of Stay: November 2007
The photos of this house do not do it justice. Very warm and wonderful property. Great kitchen, we cooked for Thanksgiving and it was well-appointed. Close to wonderful shops in the Inner Sunset district, including Arizmendi's bakery on 9th, Sensi Nail Salon on Judah, and Yumma's (Greek/Mediterranean) on Irving. Also, Roxie's Market is close and good for those little things you forgot. It is on a bus line, and there is good parking at the house. It is unbelievably close to Golden Gate Park and there are nice views of the top of the bridge walking on the street itself.
