Perfect Getaway Cottage

Northshore Renter Beverly, MA
Review Submitted: September 30, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Our family, including two boisterous boys, just returned from a lovely weekend at Seamist Cottage. The location, design and charm of the cottage could not have been more perfect. From the fun loft that kept our boys delighted on a rainy day, to the thoughtful layout of the space, we had everything we needed to enjoy a mini-vacation!

A great place to stay!

I stayed with my husband and (almost) 5 year old son. It was a great place. Our son loved the loft - the toys, books and games, and we grown-ups loved that, too! The washer/dryer and dishwasher were major plusses and being able to walk to town and the train station were great. The owner had brochures for our specific interests and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. As all the other reviews have said, the cottage was very clean and welcoming. We will be back!

Great Cottage, Terrific Host

Dale R. Malden, MA
Review Submitted: August 22, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I spent my 60th birthday at Sea Mist Cottage, and it was perfect.
Easy to reach from commuter rail station (train out of Boston), and
close to beaches and Bearskin Neck with shops/restaurants. The
cottage itself is well put together and contained everything I required, and the hosts, Pat and Allie, are great. I plan to return.

Super clean cottage

Review Submitted: August 17, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We just returned from a very enjoyable stay at Sea Mist Cottage. The cottage is very clean and so cute! My two sons (ages 9 and 11) loved the loft and all the Legos and board games. We didn't have a car and we didn't need one - the train station is only minutes away! Can't wait to come back next year!

Super vacation rental!

Our Second Stay

Sleeping Beauty Lynbrook, NY
Review Submitted: August 5, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had such a great time staying at Pat's lovely cottage last year that we just had to come back again. It's so great to be able to walk to town and enjoy the beach and restaurants without worrying about securing a parking spot. And it's the perfect home base for making day trips to Boston and Kittery. We loved coming back "home" after a day of sightseeing or relaxing on the beach. Kim had so much fun playing in the Teddy Bear Loft. We are already planning our third visit back next summer. Thanks Pat and Allie for making us feel so comfortable and welcome. You thought of everything when you designed the cottage.

Super space!!!

My wife and I traveled from VT for a relaxing anniversary weekend this past May. What a great space! Beautiful, clean, lots of light... and we could even bring our dog! I also love to cook, and the gas stove was a real treat. We are already planning a trip this fall and will have a new baby with us... bonus plug - Pat likes to babysit! What else could we ask for seriously?!

Thanks again Pat!

Great value

Review Submitted: June 3, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We found this property very clean, attractively decorated, and convenient/comfortable for 2 adults for our one week stay. This was a great "home base" for our sightseeing trips to Rockport, Glaucester, Essex, and Ipswich. Having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer were most appreciated and useful. We saved money by eating 2 meals in daily, dining out only for lunch when prices are much lower than in the evening. We left with no dirty laundry and appreciated accomplishing this chore in the evening without leaving the cottage. The king size bed was wonderfully spacious and "slept well" for those of us who suffer from "back issues"!! While the entire cottage was very clean, the bathroom was extremely clean - a big issue for us!!
The owner was helpful and eager to provide information to assist in making our stay memorable and exciting, yet she was also respectful in giving us "our space". Her friendly attitude left us feeling like we had stayed with a good friend rather than in a "hotel".
If you are looking for a reasonably priced, very clean, attractive, recently renovated, private living space for your trip to the Cape Ann area, this would be a good choice. While there is no view of the ocean from the cottage, the "trade off" is a fair price, many above mentioned amenities, and close proximity to the downtown area. We truly had the feeling each day when we returned to the cottage that we were "coming home". It was difficult to leave and if we decide to vacation in the area again, the Sea Mist will certainly be our "home base".

Simply Great!

Max and family Berlin, Germany
Review Submitted: May 18, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
The nine days we spent with Pat, the owner of this small but beautiful cottage, and her children, Allie & Eric, were simply great.

Our landlords proved to be remarkable, open-minded, warm-hearted and helpful people. It is easy to establish a close relationship with them, and they are always ready to manage even extraordinary requests. For example allowing our children to attend Allie´s school lessons for a day.

The cottage is a wonderful little haven, which offers enough space for up to four people – two adults and two children. Pat has equipped it very tastefully and effectively so that you find everything you need to feel comfortable there.

Rockport impresses as a nice little town close to the sea with many little stores and restaurants, especially in the harbour area. It works well as starting-point for excoursions in the North Shore Area, and Boston is less an hour away.

So, all in all, we enjoyed this stay very much - and will surely be back soon ...
