Coming Back Next Year!

Gamecocks North Augusta, SC
Review Submitted: October 14, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
Our friends and I have gone on a fall trip every year for the past five years. We usually vacation on the coast in Charleston or Savannah. We decided to try the Asheville area for a change and were so lucky to happen upon this wonderful cottage. We loved everything about it!! The decor was perfect, the beds were so comfortable, the hot tub was amazing, and the views were gorgeous. It was only a short drive to Asheville and the town of Weaverville offered so much as well. Did I mention it was spotless! Having never rented a place over the Internet, we were a bit hesitant but Ericka could not have been more helpful. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can!!
Owner's Response: We will always make sure the cottage is clean and we keep up on linens, towels, etc. to make sure nothing gets too worn out or over used. I am always available to answer questions, give recommendations or directions if needed.

Sunrise Cottage.....Peace!

Our third time staying at the Sunrise Cottage. It is very clean, quaint, and cozy. Lovely views. Quiet. Great area to take walks. Big hammock and fire pit in yard. Hot tub under the stars is the perfect ending to great days exploring the surrounding little towns/scenery and having fun in Downtown Asheville (10 minutes away). Owners very nice.

Our First 'Family' Vacation

David S. Raleigh, NC
Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2008
My wife and I had not taken a vacation since back before our son was born in January of 2006, so we decided that the summer of 2008 would be the right time for our first family vacation. After much thought, we cheerfully set our sights on a mountain getaway and I began the daunting task of trying to find the perfect place. After hours and hours of online searching, I zeroed in on "Sunrise" as a leading destination. It fit our criteria of affordability, ideal location, kid-friendliness, and of course - availability. The online reviews were a great help in making Sunrise our top choice. Ericka went the extra mile in helping us work out all the details that made our trip such a pleasure. Upon arriving, we were immediately struck by the beautiful setting of the cottage. Once inside, our son was happy to see a rental crib already set up and waiting for him. The house itself was just right for the 3 of us, and our son enjoyed the open design for running and the hardwood floors for his matchbox cars. My wife and I especially loved the outdoor hot tub! After leisurely day trips into Asheville and Weaverville, we looked forward to getting our exhuasted little boy in bed so that we could then enjoy our quiet evenings there together under the stars. The gift basket that Ericka put together for me to surprise my wife was a big hit - filled with romantic, fun and delicious treats. All in all, our first vacation was even better and more relaxing than we had expected it to be, thanks to Ericka and her charming Sunrise cottage.

Great Find

This cabin is a great find close enough to Asheville attractions to make a quick trip, but far enough to feel like it's in the country. The amenities and privacy are wonderful. It was a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. We would definitely try to book here again when we return to Asheville.

Relaxation at its best!

Bizani Savannah, GA
Review Submitted: April 15, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
Me and my best friend go on a vacation for her birthday every year. This year we wanted a very relaxing vacation as opposed to years in the past where we were on the go the whole time. We chose to stay at the Sunrise Cottage and had a wonderful time. We loved just hanging out in the hot tub or chatting on the comfy couch in the living room. We each had our own room so if we needed some alone time we could have that too, unlike sharing a hotel room. We really didn't want to leave! I would definitely recommend this property to all my friends.

Cutest cabin on Earth!!!

Last Hoorah Greenville, SC
Review Submitted: March 30, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
I just can't say enough about how adorable, homey, eclectic, warm, and fun this cottage is! Just hundreds of funky details, modern IKEA linens, fun antique pieces, and the tin ceiling is the most creative thing I've seen in a long time. I am SO glad that others have written that the pictures do not do it justice; that couldn't be more true. The paint colors are MUCH warmer and crisper in person and everything is so clean and tidy that you feel just as comfortable sprawling out on the floor as you do adhering to the 5-second-rule in the kitchen! And the loft...the loft!!! Such an incredible use of space. I WILL be bringing my kids back someday, when I have them. But that being said, there was also more than enough room for two couples to spend way too much time together and still feel some privacy. And it truly is a quick shot down the highway to Asheville.
We were SO DISAPPOINTED to find that the hot tub was not covered (our weekend was a stormy March one)...until the clouds cleared and we spent over an hour under the crystal stars. Just breathtaking...much like the incredible golf course less than a city block down the road. Best run of my life! Every little thing in and about this cottage is perfect and I can't recommend it more strongly!!!

This was my first time using HomeAway.com, and the experience was wonderful. Erika was very helpful in getting things set up. The property was very easy to find...just far enough away for a little seclusion, but a short drive to get right in the middle of things. The house itself was perfect. It is decorated very nicely. The tin roof was nice during a rain shower. I will definitely be staying here again!!!

Great Escape!

Review Submitted: November 18, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
After searching the internet for nearly a week, I happened upon this little gem. Let me stress that the pictures do not do it justice, you will be so pleasantly surprised by what the photos neglect to capture. The owners were extremely helpful and even offered up some fantastic restaurant recommendations nearby. I can't think of a better way to have spent our 10 year anniversary and I certainly can't wait to go back!!!!

Perfect Getaway

Local Resident Weaverville, NC
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
While this cabin has the feel of being very remote, it is suprisingly close to both downtown Weaverville and Asheville. The decor is beautiful. It makes a great home away from home. I live in the area and love having my guests stay at Sunrise Mountain. Thanks!!!
