This home puts the 'luxury hotel' suites on the Kohala coast to shame (many of which I have stayed in before)! Just spent some time in KOLEA at this beautiful condo. A gracious welcome gift awaited us upon arrival. The home was spacious and tastefully furnished, as well as meticulously maintained. The owners were delightful to interact with. If we return to the the Big Island, we would love to stay longer here. My family enjoyed "all the comforts of home" at this beachfront villa. Note: We had five people staying for the week and I would highly recommend stocking up in Kailua-Kona at Costco when you visit (it is minutes from the airport). The local grocery in Waikaloa Village is mighty pricey.... Safeway in town isn't much better. A car on this island is a must.

I read reviews from Trip Advisor for Villa 2D "Ocean Breeze" and I must say they are all true! Eileen, your interior design work is perfection! I am very picky and yet I couldn't find anything I didn't love about your home! We have stayed at Kolea several times before, but not in one of your properties. The difference is day and night. The Virtual Tours and You Tube Video are good because they do show Villa 2D off very well. Villa 2D is in a great location, just 1.5 minute walk to beach club and beach. Also, it's very quiet facing the ocean and away from the swimming pools, cars and people walking. I wanted a quiet location and this is certainly it. I noticed that Villa 2D has a larger lawn than most others. The other thing I liked about the location of Villa 2D is that there is a partial ocean view, even from the ground floor. The location of this Villa at Kolea is one of the best. All the family had lots of room and love being able to walk everywhere including the beach and shopping. The children are both under age 4 so we apprecaited the free high chairs and pack and play. We all loved arriving to welcome gifts and immediate felt at home.

Travel party: Family of five (3 kids ages 7, 10,14) plus 73 yr old mother with some mobility problems.
Kolea Villa 2D "Ocean Breeze" was as relaxing as any place could possibly be. The best features of this condo are:
1) The owners: Excellent communication before the trip. Timely information about check-in. No problems booking. Their local contact was accessible and available to answer a couple of questions. Prompt return of security deposit.
2) The lanai doors that disapeared into the wall and fully opened up to the great room/kitchen/dining. This wall of sliding doors opens all the way so even when you were inside, you were outside, was fantastic!...
3) The decor of the condo: Great upscale decorating by the owner (Eileen who is an interior designer): beautiful original art and custom built furniture and art: great lighting: large great room TV. The lanai had a great custom built heavy (mahagony I think) table with benches and 2 bucket chairs on the ends:; couch and two great throne chairs, The kitchen was fully equipped. The lanai also has a 2nd kitchen with Viking BBQ which we used for steaks and chicken...
4) The landscaping: Great for our kids, quite large, flat and AMAZING soft grass. I looked around at some of the oher buildings and it appeared that building 2 had the largest lawn/garden of any of the buildings... it was big and gorgeous...
5) The Bedrooms: Each was absolutely beautiful with great beds and an easy roll away bed.
6) Large assortment of books all about Hawaii and owners "Guest Service Book" for guests....
If you want a geat home base on the Big Island, Kolea Villa 2D is it. There are no cons here Villa 2D was perfect for what we were looking for. (guest comments taken from Trip Advisor)

Kolea Villa 2D was the most beautifu condo we have ever had the pleasure of staying in! Not only was it beautiful, it was completely furnished with the most luxurious furnishings one could ever want! It has a wonderfully equipped kitchen... even spices and condiments on hand. also there were beach towels and ice chest that come in very handy for beach picnics. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever seldpt in... like sleeping on a cloud. Eileen said the bed were quality and she wasn't kidding! There was a view of the ocean and we could hear the ocean when the breeze picked up in the afternoon. The triplical gardens with hibixcus, plam trees and lush green lawns made everyday a wonder.
We saved so much money eating all our meals in. Who wouldn't want to cook out on the nice BBQ on your own lanai that opens up to the Villa's Great Room living area. The kitchen has top notch appliances, utensils and dishes. We were never in need of anything.
We booked our trip though Kolea Vacations (koleavacations.com) and the owner Eileen Bruington-Baldi. She was so very helpful and nice. We cannot recommend her and her condo highly enough! It was truly such a glessing to our family, and we made many wonderful memories. Please know that I am very picky and it took me a few weeks to decide where to stay. I tend to be a perfectionist. Not knowing when or if we wll ever be able to come back to Hawaii, plus the fact that I brought my Dad age 79 and I wanted it to be perfect for him. There was not one thing I could complain about. If you stay here, you will NOT be disappointed!
