Very comfortably furnished, very clean, and available all year - heated and air conditioned. All cotton linens and hypo-allergenic pillows and comforters. Easy access to major roads (Routes 95/195/24) leading to Providence/Bristol/ Newport/Boston/Cape Cod/New Bedford. Terrific spot for weekend getaway, short-term relocation, or for locals, a place to house out-of-town guests. Great walking, biking or roller blading in immediate neighborhood - also close to East Bay Bike Path. (15 mile paved bike/walk/blade trail - runs from Bristol to Providence). Barrington Town Beach great for walking or enjoying beautiful Narragansett Bay.

Cottage located in quiet neighborhood on mature landscaped property. On-site off-street parking. All living space on one level. Private entrance. Full kitchen, living room, dinette area, two separate bedrooms. Comfortable furnishings, heated for year-round use, linens/dishes/cookware provided. RI may be the smallest state, but open all year and packed with things to do/see. Great highway system, but lots of back roads too. Veteran visitors or first-timers always find something new to explore! Nearby Bristol and Warren are charming towns, great for exploring along the waterfront - also home to Blithewold, Roger Williams University, Herschoff Yachting Museum, many terrific restaurants, Providence (RI's capital) has highly acclaimed restaurants, Water Fire (in season), museums/arts events, Providence Childrens' Museum, Roger Williams Zoo, RI School of Design, Brown University, Providence College, galleries, shopping, outdoor ice skating in winter. Newport in summer filled with visitors from all over the world - fabulous waterfront, historical spots, and endless activities. Winter-time Newport far less busy and still charming. Famed mansions, unbelievably beautiful (recently renovated) Cliff Walk, Touro Synagogue, St Mary's Church, Intl Tennis Hall of Fame, outdoor ice skating, shopping!

Part II - Exploring RI: Within one hour's drive - historic Wickford Village, Little Compton, Tiverton, Watch Hill. Visit enchanting Block Island - a ferry ride away from the fishing port of Galilee (near Narragansett/Bonnet Shores), or a quick plane ride from Westerly/Watch Hill area. Northwestern RI (Woonsocket, Smithfield, Lincoln) has more rolling views and historic communities (Bryant University, Museum of Work and Culture). Just east from Providence (west on 195 are the towns of Barrington, Warren, Bristol - all waterfront communities with their own charms and activities. Minutes to New Bedford (Whaling Museum). From one end of the state to the other, max 1.45 mins drive time. Great for car touring or bicycling - several bike paths in area. Several 9 and 18 hole public courses with a few minutes drive - also, many good mini-golf and driving ranges very close by.

Have stayed six times visiting Mom at nursing home. Cottage is special. Owner is gracious, personable, respectful of one's privacy. Barrington native who has lived in beautiful New Hampshire, Virginia, Illinois, Oregon. But Little Rhody, the most charming state, and Barrington, the most lovely town, especially May through October.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time! Its the perfect size for a couple or vacationing family, with a cozy and romantic gas heating stove, plenty of bedroom and storage space, and a fully functional kitchen. It's just off the Wampanoag Trail, putting it within close reach of both 195 (to head over the river to Providence and beyond) and of the East Bay area with its scenery and good food. It really was like having a home away from home for a little while, and we definitely recommend this little cottage to any New England vacationers who want a comfortable stay!
Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to offer your feedback on our cottage. Our guests consistently tell us our cottage is comfortable, well located, and a great value - and they come back frequently! Spring, summer, and early fall are usually busiest, so check the calendar if you need to make future plans!

Great Value Rhode Island Cottage

Quiet, safe neighbourhood. Clean, compact and well equipped cottage within its own garden. Visiting USA from the UK (family of four) we used Barrington as a base for exploring Newport and Cape Cod. Cottage was ideal for this purpose. Barrington offers range of stores and restaurants and hosts a section of an off-road cycle track which is very popular and takes you into nearby Bristol. Car required. We received a warm welcome from Donna the owner who was very helpful.

Everything was great with this rental. The place was very clean, well provisioned and cozy. The owners have furnished it with nice, simple furnishings and just about everything you need.

We decided to rent a place where we could be with our adult kids and one granddaughter (7 weeks old)....we enjoyed every minute in an otherwise sad time.... we were all in RI for a funeral.
