Relaxing setting, beautiful Log home

I just recently spent the weekend at the cabin with my wife and two small children.

The cabin is laid out for relaxing and entertaining with friends and family. Although, we took this trip alone, we could have easily accomodated more then a few extra guest. There is huge kitchen laid out nicely for cooking large meals. There is plenty of cooking ware, plates and utensils for a large crew. I especially enjoyed the espresso machine for my afternoon cup of joe!

The property is filled with amenities. It was nice to just hang out and relax while listening to Christmas music over the whole house audio system. It really added to the atmosphere. The house also has wireless internet access which was great to check the weather and skiing conditions (and emails). We enjoyed other features as well such as the pool table and outdoor Nordic hottub. I even payed a few songs on the piano downstairs.

The skiing was great. Sunday river is only about 10 minutes away and it is an easy trip to and from the mountain. My wife and daughter spent the whole day skiing while I stayed back at the cabin and took care of our youngest. Sledding on the property was alot of fun too!

The property was very quiet which is sooo nice. About the only thing we could here from the road was the snow plow going by. The other really nice feature is that they have a driveway alarm that sounds when some one comes up the driveway over the bridge leading to the house. It sounded off even when my wife and daughter went for a walk. The bridge is the only access to the property from the road so that was very comforting.

So overall, we were very happy with our stay and will definitely be back to enjoy the cabin some more!

Bear River Cabin is unreal!

Review Submitted: July 14, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
I had to write a review after our amazing experience up at Bear River Cabin in Maine. I spent this past 4th of July up at the house with a group of 13 of us (ages 24-28). The trip was not perfect to say the least considering that it rained 23 hours out of the day everyday we were there. However, because of the houses overall size and utter beauty we managed to not go stir crazy and keep it ourselves occupied. The house is designed to have a good time with plenty to do including a 16' bar, pool table, big screen tv's, hot tub, etc. The woodworking in the cabin is like nothing anyone has ever seen and marc's attention to detail is what makes the place truly amazing. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone looking to get away and spend their time in a truly luxurious place while still being able to enjoy everything that western Maine has to offer. I will be renting again and Marc thank you for the opportunity.

Best Family Vacation!

This was the best family vacation. There was something for everyone in our group. We had (1) 3 year old and (1) 4 year old and they loved sledding on the little hills. The older kids enjoyed snowshoeing and snowmobiling. The hot tub was also a hit.

Best of all no one even wanted to watch TV or play video games!

The fully stocked gourmet kitchen was awesome and the luxurious and comfortable sleeping accommodations will have us coming back again.

Amazing winter retreat!

This was our 3rd year staying at The Bear River Cabin and it just keeps getting better. We stayed there with 2 other families and had plenty of room. Everything including the bedding, linens, bathrooms, heated floor, kitchen, grill, hot tub, bar, billiards table, television are all way above what one would expect from a "rental". I just hope nobody trashes the place because I can not wait to get back there next year!

This is the third year we have ventured north to the Bear River Cabin. I cannot say enough positive things about this place or the owner. It is truly one of the most special locations you will find in the heart of Maine. The property is immaculate and spectacular. The ammenities are incredible. If you are thinking about renting this place, stop thinking and reserve it without reservation. You will not be disappointed - I guarantee it. Thanks Marc for making our trip awesome once again.

Our 'Rockin' White Christmas in Maine!

EGIG Maryland
Review Submitted: January 4, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
When we walked through the front door of this cabin, it simply, took our breath away. The cabin is most certaintly well kept. It was everything we had dreamed a Chritmas in Maine would be and MORE!

The veiw from every window was brilliant. The river that wind's through the front of the property is nothing short of spectacular, heck, I kept waiting for Brad Pitt to come up from the bank of the river with his fly rod & tackle pack, with his shirt we......well, we'll save that one for the Girls Weekend!

Seriously, what a truly outstanding place. The cabin is spacious, the beds were amazingly comfortable, the kitchen is most definitely designed for entertaining - tons of room, the pool table and fireplace downstairs were the perfect duo for a cold evenings entertainment, but our favorite part was the Bose sound system in every room, even outside, which we enjoyed while in the hot tub Christmas Eve during one of the many snow showers we had while there. Just AWESOME! We went to the town of Bethel nearby, and it felt as though we stepped into a 'Thomas Kincade' painting. So perfectly quaint and beautiful, fabulous shops and small cafe's.

To top it all off, you have the property owner, "Mr. Marc", as are family has lovingly dubbed him, was terrific. You could take the best concierge and hotel managers from every 5 star hotel, put them together and they would pale in comparison to "Mr. Marc". Mr. Marc helped to make our Christmas in Maine a memory that will be charished and forever engrained on each of our hearts.

Runaway Moms Weekend

ChrisF Merrimack, NH, USA
Review Submitted: July 29, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
This cabin is the ultimate get away vacation! Our group of 18 (or so) Runaway Moms stayed very comfortably! We relished in the views and the peacefulness, not to mention the opportunity to have a great time and be free!!

All the creature comforts of home are there and it is almost like a fantasy home. Even though you are sharing space with various other people, you are not cramped or violated. You can find peace anywhere you go.

Some of us decided to take advantage of the canoeing and kayaking adventures in the area. Others decided that nothing was on their agenda. It didn't matter because there was something or nothing for everyone.

The house, we found, was very clean and kept up. Whoever designed the house was thinking of every little extra! We loved the music piped into all the rooms, including the garage!

I could go on and on. Bottom line, this cabin is a home away from home and then some!

Enjoy!!! We did and we plan on returning for our annual "Girls Weekend"!!!

Girls Weekend

What a fabulous place. The pictures do not do the place justice. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable, and spacious. We had 15 woman in the place and never felt crowded. We were all able to move around and having 5 bathrooms made for no lines. The owner is great to work with and has thought of everything. The beds were so comfortable. The place was clean and well kept. It felt like we were walking in to a magazine.. We all shared a bed, yet still felt like we were sleeping alone. The hot tub was waiting for us .. hop in ready.
There is so much to do there.. hiking trails in walking distance, kayking just mins. down the road, a convience store within mins.. a porch to relax on.. what more can you ask for.
It is definetly a place for anyone looking to get away and have a great time. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was more than a cabin, but a place where great memories can be made. Tubing down the river was so refreshing and the bugs were not bad at all. The cabin is absolutly breath taking. It took me a day to stop saying wow.. The ride there was beautiful as well. I definetly say this is a 5+ star cabin.

Family Vacation

Laurie A. Rehoboth, Ma.
Review Submitted: July 20, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We wanted to do something special for our parent's 50th anniversary, so the entire family decided to go to the Bear River Cabin to spend time together. It was a very fun, relaxing and memorable week for all. We spent our days at the river; swimming, canoeing, fishing, playing horseshoes & bocci, and visiting the local gem shops. At night, we sat around the camp fire for hours telling stories, and being entertained by the many nieces and nephews. We loved sitting around the huge log table having our meals, playing games, and laughing. This cabin offers something for everyone. The open floor plan is the perfect set up for a family gathering and everyone to be in the same room. We also enjoyed the pool table and huge T.V. There was plenty of room for all and the beds were so comfortable to sleep in each night. This cabin is so gorgeous and comfortable. We look forward to returning again with friends and family in the future!
