This cozy cabin is located in Curtis on South Lake Manistique in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. The cabin is conveniently located in the center of town within walking distance of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and a coin laundry. It is also right on the lake. In the summer enjoy fishing, swimming, and boating. In the winter, bring your snowmobiles as it is conveniently located close to trail heads. Many day trips from this location can be taken. The cabin has a fully outfitted kitchen. Linens are provided.

We had such a great time

It was a little time away with the kids....Perfect for relaxing and hanging out. The place was very clean when we arrived. We rented a pontoon boat and were out on the lake most the day. Used the grill a lot!! The water in front of the cottage was very shallow great for kids to play and nice to put my lawn chair in and chill!! We also had a great time across the street at the TallyHo!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

A winter weekend a away

We had a great time. I was a little hesitant about the reviews but clearly the owner made some large improvements!! New towels, sheets, glasses, plates and there was a gas grill outside. The furniture was very clean, no love stains or firewood seen. We went to the bar and had a great time. The people of Curtis are very friendly. Lots of people snowmobiling and having fun! Went to the restaurant next door for dinner and a local diner for brunch the next morning. There is also a convenience store across the street that was well stocked as we had late night frozen pizza!! I will return when it is warm and take advantage of the lake front!

Perfect Winter Weekend Away

I just recently rented this cabin for a weekend away with my boyfriend. The reviews must have caught the owners eye because all that was said about the cleanliness was not true. The fridge was empty and clean. The oven was old but clean. The furnishings were clean and in good condition and no stains were spotted. The beds were held up by frames, no firewood was used. Closets were stocked with extra blankets and pillows. There were new towels with the tags still on. There were also wine glasses, drinking glasses, and beer mugs. The plates and bowls were probably new too because they were colorful and matching. There was no mold anywhere to be found. Though there was no grilling because it was negative 20 degrees, I did spot a gas grill outdoors on the back porch. The bar across the street was actually really fun. The town has some friendly people. We had a great time and will return again. Thanks Dennis for the late notice booking.

HELL ON EARTH- beware!!!

This house is right across the street from a club/bar so Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday-every night the music and parting goes on till after 2:30. Women were out in the street after close posing on top of cars so men could take photos of their gentility, then the rest of the drunks were falling down in the road. The bed I had to sleep in was vibrating with the excessive bass. Could not fish because I was so tired from being kept up all night Oh and the bed was held up with fire wood. The house has so much mold we all got sick. The house was very dirty and the beds were tossled from the last people. Old food in the fridge, old cooked food in the oven broiler. Love stains on the couch (super gross) the kitchen was not stocked well just with basic garage sale junk that most of us throw away. I have never even seen a stove/ oven this old. No grill still!!
This was just a junk place The town is nice except for the bar.
The only way I could see someone enjoying this house would be frat guys that just want to party.

Not What It Seems!

The picture is very deceiving! The home itself was not very clean. The interior looked nice, Knotty pine, but furniture was pretty old and smelled of must. Really needs new cleaning crew and furniture! It is on a corner lot in the middle of town. Picture makes it look more private. Probably would be an ok place for young 20 something year olds looking to party and don't care much about the living conditions. No paper products provided or outside grill as advertised, very limited towels and linen, but the home is for sale, so I can see why owner doesn't want to sink money into it. Cute town and 4th of July festivities were nice..Can defintely hear the bar across the street though, so may want to go during the week or you'll not get much sleep on the weekends. Bar patrons parked on the lawn and threw their trash all over and even used it as a latreen, and this was in broad daylight, so may want to watch the kids. On a good note, the owner was very accomodating for a last minute reservation, but, will definitely not be back.
Owner's Response: This is the first negative feedback that I have recieved on ths property. Kendra you are the first renters of the season so I apologize for the cottage not being aired out. I will certainly contact the cleaning crew and make them aware of the issues. As you state, it is located in the middle of town and on a holiday weekend it does see alot of actiivity.
I am disgusted if bar patrons used the lawn as a latrine but can obviously not control their actions. Curtis is as stated, a very nice little town and those activities are not typically an issue! The grill being gone is because of previous renters taking it with them. I will have it replaced.
I have numerous renters who book this property on an annual basis and look forward to returning year after year.
I appreciate your input and will do my best to make sure that that the issues you have raised about the physical aspects of the property are addressed.
