Casa Konomi is conveniently situated between Half Moon Bay and Yalku Lagoon. It is an easy walk to the sandy beach, or the lagoon, both are prime for snorkeling. Unique to this villa, the owner provides a golf cart and bikes to make getting around Akumal easy and quick. The location gives guests the unusual opportunity to be secluded by lush gardens, creating a private escape unlike any other rental home in the area. Every minute of the day is spent with the tranquil sound of breaking waves from the ocean waters surrounding the peninsula the home sits on. The owners like to update it every year, so many guests return time after time as they know the villa improves with age! The Mercure party returned in February and said 'The house is better than ever!'

There are three large en-suite bedrooms in this 5,360 sq. ft. villa. Located on the second floor, the floral style master bedroom suite is called Blue Lagoon. Also on the second floor is another bedroom suite, Mapumalanga ('the setting sun') with a delightful safari theme. The third spacious garden bedroom suite, Shangri-La (it can be rented alone as a 'bungalow' in the low seasons) is on the main level. Every room has two entrances, one leading to a veranda, another to the inside of the villa.

Casa Konomi has amazing attention to detail, from the monkeys carved into the building's decorative architecture, to the many stained glass windows featured throughout the house. The living room and dining room have been carefully thought out with no cost spared for aesthetic themes.The newly tiled rooftop terrace offers amazing vistas of the sea, the jungle and the lagoon. Everything needed for a perfect stay is on hand and the staff is at your service to help. Quite unusual to rental homes, there is a fully equipped laundry room with a washer, dryer and plenty of cleaning products. For a small additional fee and with some notice, the maid will gladly do laundry for guests or the caretaker can arrange for a cook. Leave the bulky beach towels at home, Casa Konomi will provide as many beach towels as needed, as well as coolers, hats and more. The home is equipped with a safe for valuables.

Every bedroom has air conditioning as well as fans. Each has a large walk in closet. The bathrooms are spacious and spectacular. Rare to the area, bedrooms have soft carpeted floors. The spacious kitchen is equipped with two refrigerators, a state of the art stove, a full size microwave, a gourmet coffee machine and more.

There is nothing this kitchen does not provide. Four flat screen TVs give choices to guests, one in the living room and one in each bedroom. There are plenty of DVDs, CDs and games for your enjoyment, as well as DISH TV if all you want is the surround sound of music playing while you fall asleep beside the pool. Wireless internet is available in Casa Konomi so please remember to bring your laptop so you can send home photos daily to make friends and family green with envy. Casa Konomi is going green too! Eco friendly light bulbs have been installed throughout the villa. Six all terrain bikes are on hand for those wishing to ride around Akumal. Not the biking type? No worries,an electric golf cart has been provided for your stay, perfect for trips to the lagoon, the bays, dinner out, or Chomak Market.

2012~ the golf cart has been totally rebulit and is like new! A new palapa has been added over the front entry, and all other palapas have been replaced. The pool is newly refurbished. The BBQ is new. A fun tricycle has been added with cooler and umbrella for jaunts to the bay. See who wins the race to Akumal, the golf cart or pedal power? Even the plumbing is all new. The house is even better than before and it was perfect to begin with

The staff is there to take care of you, and can also be hired to cook for you, or provide personal laundry for a per load fee. The grounds are impeccable.
