Bellas vacaciones en Bello Horizonte!

LGK Vermont, USA
Review Submitted: March 8, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We loved our stay at Bello Horizonte this past December. Aleida is a marvelous and attentive host. She shopped ahead for us, so that we arrived with basic provisions, and she met us the morning after our late-night arrival, to ensure that we had all we needed. The house is exactly as pictured. The rooms are spacious and updated. The bathrooms are modern and very clean, with beautiful tile work. The kitchen is very well equipped. The grounds are lovely, and we enjoyed fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice each morning (which we squeezed with the help of the electric juicer provided!). The pool was refreshing and picturesque! If you're thinking "but I want to stay on the beach".....no you don't. The beaches are so varied, that you will love the freedom of staying at Bello Horizonte and driving to your beach of choice each day. I walked to the Domes and Spanish Wall beaches from BH several mornings, watched the surfers and collected buckets-full of seashells and bleached sea urchins. We spent most afternoons first at the Steps beach, snorkeling and sunning, then "in town" at the swimming beach, for more relaxed, calm swimming and beautiful sunsets. I've rented several houses through homeaway, and Bello Horizonte is one of the best ever! Aleida, please feel free to use me as a contactable reference! Linda

Bello Horizonte Rincon, PR This place is AMAZING!

Review Submitted: October 16, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My wife and I loved this place! Our stay at Bello Horizonte was refreshing, private, and convenient. The property is very clean, with nice open indoor/outdoor living areas as well as breath taking views from the pool. Convenient outdoor shower is great after surfing or swimming. The house is a short drive/walk to lots of great food, entertainment spots, and beautiful beaches.

The owners of the property were very kind and generous in helping us with any questions we had about the area and the property. We would, and will recommend Bello Horizonte to our friends and family. This place is amazing!

Paradise Home

Favio Dallas, TX
Review Submitted: August 9, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We had complete privacy. The house had a terrace area from which you could see the ocean. The entire place was well kept, clean, and equipped with all the basic necessities and more. The kitchen was no exception, filled with everything we needed from plates to wine bottle openers. Having an extra shower and a bathroom outside was very convenient. The washing/drying machine was also very accommodating.
The backyard garden was lush. It was filled with exotic flowers and fruit trees. The view of the ocean from the pool was spectacular! The Desecheo island was visible from this area. We took the most beautiful pics of the sunrise and sunset. This breathtaking view gave us a complete "island feeling". This along with the garden gave us a peaceful sense that comes from being in nature.
The owner was very kind, helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.
The place was near a few bakeries and a coffee shop, ideal for breakfast by the pool.
We give this place TWO THUMBS up!!! A definite paradise home. Would LOVE to go back and stay!!

great family vacation home

Review Submitted: August 2, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Great family vacaton home with spectacular view of the ocean and Desecheo Island. We had plenty of room for my family and some guests. I loved the lush vegetation on the property and you felt totally secluded. The beaches and restaurants were minutes away, but you sit up on a hill and you can't here any noise as you enjoyed a cup of cafe on the terrace or by the pool. The pool is quite lovely and my famliy used it everyday. The house is pretty well equipped with most things you might need. We will be back to this home when we visit Rincon in the future.

Charm and character

We loved our stay at Bello Horizonte, and can't wait to get back. Our only problem is that it is usually booked far in advance by other very satisfied customers! Aleida is absolutely the *best*. She took care of us before we arrived, the house was spotlessly clean, and she had stocked it with the necessities. The view is outstanding. The house is accurately described, but doesn't emphasize enough how good the grounds are for the outside life we live at the beach. Besides the pool, we all hung out on the porch and the hammocks, and had good times at the picnic table and barbeque. What we most enjoyed though, was the privacy that the house affords - Rincon is great, but we like to get away from the crowds when we go 'home.' Because Bello Horiizonte is up on a small hill, we couldn't even hear the traffic on a Saturday night. We had two groups of visitors, and everyone was as pleased as we were.

Resplendent

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending nearly a month at Bello Horizonte earlier this year. Put simply, we loved it. We were joined for a time by a small brigade of relatives and friends, and they too were delighted by the experience – the accommodations, the luxuriant surround, the sense of privacy, an ideal location in the Puntas that provided easy access to all that Rincon has to offer.

Aleida, the exceedingly gracious owner, was kind enough to take the time to give us a tour of the site during a quick trip to Rincon last summer. What we saw coincided with all that had been promised on the Homeaway site, where my wife had first spied the property. Seeing it in its fullness made it all the more inviting, and us all the more eager to inhabit it. We were enchanted by its spectacular perch and the view that went with it, the capaciousness of the patio, the beckoning hammocks, the crystalline pool, the discrete sitting areas. It was a beautiful place made for easy living.

As for the residence itself: the bedrooms were exceedingly comfortable and pleasantly air-conditioned. The kitchen was extremely well equipped . An open counter, with plentiful space, allowed for ready communication between living room and kitchen denizens. An overhead fan in the living room served that area well. Throwing open the two entrances to the living room produced additional breezes and allowed us at the same time to tune in more fully to the ambient sounds of community life, of Puntas life.

Sounds, I might add, that we loved, because they made us feel, even in the midst of the blissful seclusion that Bello Horizonte offered, that we were very much a part of the Rincon environment.

All in all, a most exceptional, memorable experience.

July 2009

Review Submitted: July 17, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
If you want a family vacation where you hang back and enjoy living outdoors, sunbathing and breathtaking views--this is it. The view is great from all angles; sunsets by the pool facing the ocean are spectacular! The house has a great outdoor living area --and its breezy too! We even had a friendly, reliable masseuse over for a sunset massage (business card in the house!) in the many private spaces this house has! There are 3 adequately sized rooms (all sans TVs) and 2 full baths: though the smaller one is outdoors. The bathroom and kitchen cabinets could be updated but the house is quaint, smells/looks very clean and all the bedrooms have A/C units. The closets are big in all the rooms so bureaus aren't necessary. The pool is such a plus! its nicer than the pics reveal. Overall a great family place for sure! A few details to note: the beaches are a car ride away for sure--especially the better ones. Walking is not practical given the terrain and distance to the local area beaches. Local supermarkets lacked the fresh seafood/steaks we hoped for but the bakery across the street is a lifesaver! Oh, there is a church located next door but it was hardly ever occupied therefore quiet (I was there 8 days) and yes there are roosters (you're on an island in the mountains!); the landscaping blocks any neighbors' views so its quite private. The owners were incredibly hospitable which is always a plus! If you're a traveller and love the great outdoors I recommend this place. If you're looking for isolation and absolute silence --you'll need to rent your own island !! ciao--from NYC

not peaceful or quiet

Miserable Vacation Wayland, MA
Review Submitted: July 15, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The description of this property is not accurate regarding how quiet and peaceful it is. It is neither; the house is located right next door to a Pentecostal Church that has extremely loud services three times per week. We also had to tolerate being woken up daily at (5:30a.m.) to roosters crowing. Unfortunately, this lasted most of the day and was often accompanied by barking dogs. There are also neighbors that sometimes fight late afternoon. So if you are searching for a vacation property that provides peach and quiet you will not get it here.

The house
Is not sun filled

Bedrooms are all very small and do not have any bureaus

Beds are small double size or single

No in suite bathroom

Second bath is located outside of the main house

Bathroom that is in the house has a shower head that will rip your skin off (use outside bathroom for showers)

You need to use a match to light the stove

No AC in the main living area kitchen/living room

No phone to make local calls in case of emergency

Not well-equipped

The pool and the view are the best part of this property.
Owner's Response: Dear reader, I ask that you take some time to read some of the many other reviews posted about our home. And in doing so, will recognize that this particular review is an anomoly. Our ad and pictures are accurate and truthful as attested by the comments in other reviews. No one staying at our home has ever complained about the roosters or the church, Rincon is a rural town and these are part of it's charm and character. Please don't hesitate to write or call me if you have additional questions.

Our 10 day stay was Awesome, The owners were very nice and the house was great. The location was perfect since we have family in the island and was near some crystal clear beaches perfect for snorkeling. We all enjoyed the stay, accomodations, facilities, and sunset views. Will definately go again, and recommend it to anyone seeking a great vacation. ¡Gracias Aleida and Jack!
