CASA JUNGLA Sayulita Mexico Vacation Rental

Located conveniently in town, Casa Jungla is a 3 minute walk to the town plaza, beach or bus stop. (The bus to Puerto Vallarta and the airport is only 20 pesos.) This casita is located at the end of a cobblestone cul de sac so there is no traffic or dust.

STUDIO - Charming studio. Comfortable living area includes full size roll out bed and living room furnishings. Large, fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs. Bathroom has excellent shower flow for a nice hot shower. Linens and towels are provided. Beautiful bright Mexican colors and tile throughout. Enjoy the relaxing ocean breeze and glimpses of the sea while you swing in the hammock on the large shaded deck.

ONE BEDROOM - Located above the studio casita is a spacious one bedroom villa with separate entrance. Walk up to a panoramic view of the ocean under a large palapa with outdoor kitchen, dining area, and hammock. Shade and gentle breezes make this an oasis. The kitchen contains refrigerator, microwave, electric grill, gas burner and electric panini grill. Directly behind the kitchen you'll find the living area. This contains a sofa, coffee table, comfortable rocking chair, desk, and bookcase with lots to read. Also a full bathroom with shower. Next door is the bedroom, containing an armoire, large dresser, full size bed, two night stands, large closet and bathroom with shower. Both rooms greet you with bright colors and Mexican tile.

Sayulita is a charming fishing and surf village with everything within walking distance. There are plenty of delicious restaurants to satisfy all types of varied palates, as well as several grocery stores with fresh fruits and vegetables to your heart's content. Sayulita is also an art community with interesting and beautiful jewelry, pottery, clothing and original crafts of all kinds. The fine, sandy beach provides wonderful wading and swimming for the kids, as well as nice surf breaks with plenty of surf lessons for the more adventurous. Fishing boats leave the shore every morning if you would like to try for that big Marlin or some Mahi Mahi, or just find a secluded snorkeling spot.

Excellent Location - Bring Ear Plugs!

I stayed a week at the studio on my first visit to Sayulita. The studio is very spacious inside, with a great patio outside and doors that open wide for indoor/outdoor living. The hammock was sooooo nice. It's a bit of a haul from the street to the studio (incline + stairs) but I'm totally not in shape and it was manageable for me. I was *extremely* pleased with the location - 3 minutes from village plaza or beach is not an exaggeration. The value of the studio as well as the location = highly recommended rental.

Ear plugs ... during the day, the studio was a lovely quiet respite from the bustle of the village and beach. But at night - dogs dogs dogs. At the time of my stay, there are several dogs that live around the studio and they barked all night every night, interrupting sleep. Bring ear plugs or prepare to need lots of naps on the beach during the day :)

- I did not cook at the studio during my stay but there appeared to be sufficient pots/pans/dishes.
- The bed would be rated 'fair' ... it was tolerable but definitely not what I could describe as super comfortable - could be a consideration if you have back issues.
- There were people staying in the unit above me and I rarely heard them (quiet, well-insulated)
- Fans work great, keeping the humidity in check
- I stayed there as a solo woman and felt completely safe
- The in-room safe is super tiny ... you won't be locking up iPads or laptops in it. I just hid my things around the room and didn't feel too worried about theft (though it happens, so bring expensive stuff at your own risk)
- The bathroom is petite but the shower is spacious.
- Good towels provided

All in all, this is a great place to stay in Sayulita.

not what we expexted

it has been a year since we stayed here but since I'm looking to go to Sayulita again thought I would check this out.
while the place was cute and offered good value it was not up to snuff!
the biggest issue was the exterior gate was broken and had been for a while.with full glass windows all around I did no feel safe at all.
the house was dusty (down) and missing things like coffee filters, the so called dvd . there were plastic coffee cups down so we had to raid upstairs. the panini grill was rusted and I could go on.
the hammock was broken up stairs and missing downstairs, there was no bbq as advertised either.
Isreal was impossible to get a hold of and finally came on our 3rd day there to remedy some of the shortfalls.
we are not overly fussy, we travel alot and stay in basic places but found this ad very misleading at the time.
I can only hope things have improved.
Owner's Response: Ah yes the above review was written many months later than their stay but I remember the situation well. As some of you may know the village of Sayulita was severely damaged by heavy tropical rains in Sept of 2010 – that is what took out the bridge, displaced some 30 families and gave us our severely leaning restrooms by the river. Casa Jungla also suffered some $12,000(USD) in damages to home and property when a neighbor's retaining wall collapsed during the storms. The short of this is we were promised by local contractors that it would be no problem ('no hay problema') to have repairs and cleanup completed in time for the above renters. Didn't happen; and unfortunately our property manager had to be away due to family circumstances on the two days before the renter's arrival; so things didn't get done – a thorough cleaning to clear construction dust, new hammocks, having all the correct items/utensils in the correct units. My apologies to all, but everything is corrected now.

Dave,
Thanks so much! we had a lovely stay in Sayulita, the casita worked
out wonderfully. I was able to pay Isreal directly so that was great.
I will totally recommend your place to anyone else that I know who may
be going down there.
Cheers,

Casa Jungla Rocks!

I've stayed at Casa Jungla 4 times now, and can't believe the value of the place. The location is wonderful, just a long block from town. The house is a perfect slice of Mexican vibrancy and charm. The outdoor living spaces and wonderful ocean breezes are so very comfortable. When I got tired of the noise and bustle of the beach, I retreated to the quiet hammock for respite. It's great to not need a car to access all Sayulita has to offer.

Wonderful Magical Romantic Getaway

My sweetheart and I have come to Casa Jungla for 4 years in a row now during Spring Break. We are seasoned world travelers. We've stayed in both the upstairs unit (recommended!) and the studio. The location is terrific as it's an easy walk to town. Sayulita drips romance! We love being so close to town, yet out of most of the noise and bustle. It's delightful that we can ride the bus from PVR and don't need to rent a car.

Dave and Linda are terrific hosts. They are warm and caring, and know the town well. We look forward to what new adventures and ideas they have for us every year, and hope to be returning to Casa Jungla for years to come.

Comfortable, clean, and colourful studio with well equipped kitchenette in great location. All local attractions (beach, town centre, markets, stores, etc.) are literally only minutes away in easy walking distance. Wonderful central yet quiet location. We spent a week here and loved every minute of it. We're hoping to return one day!
