Dear Bishop family,

What a wonderful respite you all have created - you've thought of every creature comfort possible. The rustic feel of your home exudes hospitality, warmth, and love. This was a perfect setting for our family from Texas, Louisiana and Florida to celebrate a most memorable Thanksgiving together. The weather and the scenery could not have been more spectacular - I think you all have some sort of special connections.

We truly had a marvelous time and feel that we were very lucky to have chosen your beautiful and more than accommodating home to share food, fun, and relaxation.

Many blessings from the Rexrode, Kirsch and Carl Families

My family has been coming up to the Blairsville/ Blue Ridge area for the past ten years. We have stayed in quite a few different cabins and I have to say that Bishop's Retreat is by far the best that we have stayed in. The house is beautful and perfectly laid out for a great vacation. The dock is on deep water and great for swimming. If I could have only got all those largemouth bass swimming around to bite on my line I would have thought I had died and gone to heaven!!! Libby, Thank you so much!!

Libby, the house was absolutely stunning - the view of the lake was amazing. We had the best time there - there was not a detail that was overlooked at all. Beautifully decorated - we enjoyed going from room to room and looking at everything that was there - from the main room books to the art work in the master bedroom to the kitchen so magnificently portrayed as an old farm kitchen. Everyone had a private area to themselves for their quiet time and
as for me I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the porch and reading - very
relaxing.
We had the opportunity to take the children to the Misty Mountain Railroad
Museum and Brasstown Bald. Both were amazing.
We hope to come back sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas if it is
available - it is a great setting for family.

Thank you very much for a wonderful cabin & weekend. Weather was great and the kids had fun tromping around the woods. We had 4 adults and 6 kids and even had room to spare. You picked out a perfect lot; great view and the National Forest to your right means you'll never have neighbors. Thank you again.

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your home. It was by far the best place we have rented over the last 12 years. We all loved "hanging out" in your well equipped kitchen and wished that the weather had been warmer so we could have enjoyed the decks and the dock. Oh well, we will just have to come again! You have created such a warm and inviting home and we all coveted your beautiful floors. Thanks for sharing your special place with us.

Our stay was wonderful. The house is beautiful;charmingly rustic yet fully furnished for maximum comfort. It reminds me of the North Carolina Mountains and promises to be spectacular this fall! We hope to come back soon!

What a beautiful home! Attention to every detail with complete privacy and beauty of nature abounds. It was so relaxing to read on the porch overlooking a beautiful view of the lake. A special touch was the gentle rain splashing on the tin roof, so quaint and restful. The home is spacious and well designed to ensure everyone privacy. Fishing from the dock was a favorite part of the trip.

Dear Libby,

Just wanted to tell you what a great time our family had during our few days at the Bishop House. The house itself is beautifully done. Lots of attention to detail. Especially loved the reclaimed doors and those amazing wood plank floors!!!.

Very comfortable, cozy, quiet and extremely relaxing.

I can't say enough about the lake which we managed to stay in pretty much the whole day. Got in a few
night swims as well. It reminded
me of my summers spent at sleep
away camp in upstate New York.
We're already planning our return.
I think will be regulars.

Anyway, thanks again and hope to speak with you soon.

Sincerely,

Robin, Neil, Marisa and Harlee Meyerowitz

Jeff and I had the privilege of spending a glorious weekend at the lake house! We were so impressed with the size, the warmth and welcome, and the very special personal touches that exuded hospitality! The rooms are large, yet very cozy; and they are truly modern and new, yet embrace you like an old friend!! The house is complete with all of the amenities necessary for a very comfortable stay - plus the extraordinary ambiance of the lake, the forest, and the serenity of the mountains!! Once you arrive, you never have to (or want to) leave - you can take hikes, go jogging, swim, fish, sun, and just plain enjoy your friends and family - which is exactly what we did - for a wonderful weekend!! And - did I mention that we had 10 high school girls with 4 adults - and we all had beds with plenty of room to spread out - for either quiet time or family gathering! It is fantastic! Can't wait to return!

We just spent a weekend at the Bishop's home with ten high school
cross country runners. We had a wonderful time, running in the hills surrounding Lake Notteley, swimming in the lake and eating lots of food. The house was a perfect fit for a large group of girls. Everyone had a bed, plenty of shower time, and the kitchen has everything we needed so that the girls could cook for themselves.
The team evaluation was, "The best summer retreat the team has ever taken"
