This spacious 5 bedroom residence is centrally located about a mile from Nauset Light ocean beach and the bike path. The house is located on the ocean side of Route 6 with Coast Guard Beach also just a short drive away. Enjoy yourself on a bike ride to the ocean or along the Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path. The floor plan has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the first floor, with 2 bedrooms, a bath and a lounge area on the second. The kitchen is spacious with a large eating area that seats 8 comfortably, with the formal dining room additionally seating 6 adults . The large living room (24' x 15'), includes a big screen plasma TV with DVD player, and seats 10 very comfortably. High speed Internet and computer are provided for your convenience as well. The yard is private and quiet, with a large stone patio and a grill for your outdoor living.

What a wonderful HOME!

What a GREAT time we have at the Acorn! As always the house was just like a home away from home. The property is everything and more! My husband and I have rented on the Cape for over 20 years and have always rented in the late spring and early fall during fishing season. Out of all the houses we have rented, the Acorn is by far the best! The location is ideal and it’s only 30 minutes north to P-Town and 30 minutes south to the shops in Hyannis. The beaches and the Great Pond are also just a stones through away along with bait shops, mini golf, a driving range, shopping and great restaurants.
The house has a large back yard and a great patio for entertaining. The layout of the house is perfect and unique. The house itself has a beautiful large kitchen, dining room and living room with lots of space and comfy couches. The rooms really are as big as they look in the pictures and even more beautiful.
Joe and his family have always made us feel welcome, and have made each vacation a memorable one with this wonderful home. This rental is a real find and we look forward to coming back for many years to come! I would definitely recommend this vacation home to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway on Cape Cod.

Wonderful Family Vacation

In a word - wonderful! The house is deceptively large and was easily able to accomodate all 9 members of our family. The kitchen has a huge dining table which comfortably seats 8 (or 12 if you squeeze in a bit). And like the kitchen, the living room is comfortable and inviting with enough plush seating for everyone (and then some). At times, we had as many as 6 cars in the driveway - no problem. And like the photo, the driveway is horseshoe-shaped which allows for safe access to the road.
You might think that with 5 bedrooms, they would not be much larger than a closet. No so. The master bedroom is nicely sized with a large bathroom. And while the other 2 bedrooms downstairs are smaller, the two upstairs bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable.
The property is very nicely situated only a short drive or bike ride to the beach, but I particularly liked its proximity to both the Cape Cod Rail-Trail bike path and Nauset Kennels. How convenient to board your pet just down the road - close enough to visit on a daily basis, if you wish.
The patio off the kitchen has all the amenities - gas grill AND charcoal - your choice. And the yard is large enough to support volleyball/badminton/frisbee/ladderball, or even whiffleball.
Orleans has all the urban sprawl shopping you might need within a 15 minute ride, and P-town is only 30 minutes further down the road.
The owner was a pleasure to work with - professional and prompt and provided us with all the information and support we could possibly need.
All in all, it was truly a pleasure to call his place "our place" for the week. We look forward to staying there again soon (we hope!).

Wonderful Week at the Cape!

We spent a week at the Cape in this wonderful home. It felt like home from the first moment we walked in the door. There were two families enjoying this home with three teenage boys. boys had their space upstairs with TV for their entertainment in the evening, leaving the adults with space to enjoy ourselves downstairs and on the beautiful patio. Being from California, we had never seen fireflies. It was beautiful at night to sit outside and see their lights flickering throughout the yard. This was absolutely one of our best vacations ever. We walked to Nauset Light beach in the morning and enjoyed the biking/walking trail nearby. You will not be disappointed in this rental and Joe Oates was wonderful to work with in planning our stay. Have fun and enjoy this wonderful home!

Perfect Family Home

After 35 years of renting vacation homes in Eastham, two years ago I found this-perfect in EVERY way for my large extended family. This is a wonderful, spacious home with thoughtfully planned, well appointed rooms. The owner has provided ALL the modern conveniences needed to ensure a comfortable stay while maintaining the home's character and charm. The kitchen is very well equipped. The large patio is almost another room, affording plenty of seating, tables, etc. Beautiful yard with convenient circular driveway and plenty of parking. The location can't be beat! So close to beautiful Coast Guard & Nauset Light beaches and convenient to all kinds of activities, shopping, restaurants. This would be a GREAT place for a reunion of "Cape-loving" far-flung family to gather for Thanksgiving or Christmas! It's truly a wonderful "home away from home".
