Great Family house on the Beach...

Submitted: July 20, 2011 Stayed: July 2011
We stayed July 9-16, 2011. This house has the potential to be extremely nice. 4 bedrooms is a big plus. One bathroom meant showering in shifts. I had a great time with my family this past week. I love this isolated and quiet stretch of beach. We have been renting houses along the coast for years and have come to expect certain things. The dryer took 2 full cycles to dry one load of clothes. :-( The shower was small and the shower curtain rod was rusted as well as the rings. The a/c vent in the small bedroom had no flow at all. Vents are moldy and dripping. Refrigerator door did not close even after pushing very hard. Drain for frost free freezer (top) drained into refrigerator so first day we had everything in refrig sitting in water. No curtains over windows in front, so seeing small TV was difficult. DVD player would not work and VCR in small bedroom ate 2 of their VHS tapes (It never worked). Microwave took 2 minutes to warm coffee. No light over dining table. Chairs did not match table and was difficult to sit at table and eat. The back railing has come loose and I wouldn't let kids go back there for fear of it falling off. The house needs a good cleaning, like doors, walls, a/c check up and updated appliances. I know it is difficult to keep a beach house, but when you rent to others it is important to stay on top of those maintenance issues. We still loved our time at this house and the price is right. We cleaned the coils on the a/c and cleaned dryer vent on floor. We left mops out back because they needed airing out. Great place to stay! Thanks again!

Very Nice Beach Rental

We had a wonderful time!! Would recommend to my friends and family! Our stay was the week of July 11th. This was a Christmas gift to our children and grandchildren. They told us it was the best vacation ever! The house was clean, furnished nicely, kitchen was stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Beds were great too! The hammock was the most popular place besides the beach!

Son-in-law caught one fish in the Ocean. My husband tried the lake in the
back but no luck.

Mosquitos moved in on us the middle of the week, so bring your supply of OFF. Sitting on the deck got a little rough. We also had a bout with Jelly Fish stings. Don't know if this is common on this beach but they were there this week.

Very restful and enjoyable time had by all! Thank you Mr. Bland for letting us rent your house! The Briley Family from Sulphur Springs, Texas

We spent a week here, went to Galveston for Fat Tuesday Madigra Parade. We had a wonderful time! Next time we'll come later in the season as the weather was cooler then I'd like. Quiet location, close to beach, close enough to town. We liked it!

Beautiful and roomy beach house

My husband and I stayed a week here with my daughter. This house is a true "beach house" and had everything you could think of to make your stay comfortable and fun. They even have kyaks and a fishing pier. The front porch was amazing-wrap around with views in all directions. Quintana is a very pretty island and is not taken over by commercialization (yet). My husband and I took many afternoon naps in the hammock on the porch, the waves putting us softly to sleep. Great place and great views! I want to graciously thank the owners for making this an outstanding vacation.
