Not worth the money

Travelin Two Bluegrass State
Review Submitted: May 31, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Upon arrival we were greeted with an annoying unreachable fire alarm ( 12 ft high) with a low battery that kept beeping. We called the owner and he said that he could get someone to fix the alarm sometime the next day. We had to fix it ourselves. This was almost impossible since there wasn't a ladder anywhere. The king sized bed that the web site boasts was a very uncomfortable queen (the mattress was stained) The linens were dirty from previous users and the bath rugs were covered in twigs and dirt. The floor was covered in grit. There is a cleaning fee but I'm not sure where that money is going because once we booked the cabin we were sent an email telling us that we had to take all the trash to the local landfill and wash the dishes or we would be charged extra money. There is also a sign on the washer stating that you must wash linens for the next guests. We killed spiders inside the cabin everywhere during our stay. The soap in the bathrooms was out and someone had filled them all with water (so nasty). There should have been a note letting you know that if you wanted a clean cabin you would have to clean it yourself and buy the cleaning supplies (there were only empty bottles in the cabin). We stay at a lot of cabins and this was by far the worst.

Loved the cabin!

My husband and I stayed in the cabin for our honeymoon and we truly enjoyed it. We loved the pool table, the decor, the fireplace, the location, everthing! Grocery store nearby and a drive thur bar. As far as the driveway, it is not steep.I am from FL where it's flat, the drive to the cabin is fine.

Great honeymoon getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this little cabin and it was a great bargain. The jacuzzi was very nice and we used the grill almost every day during our week-long stay. Town isn't too far away and its close to the Tennessee border so its not tough to get to the different areas. One negative was that the town of Murphy doesn't offer too much to do and a lot of the businesses are closed at odd hours. Other than that I would rent this place again.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. Murphy now has a bar with live entertainment. The Country Club offers a full service bar and excellent food. There are several new restaurants in the area.

I would stay again!

The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. We have kids ages 9 and 8 and they loved it, too!

One of the mornings we had a real hard rain. It was very peaceful to sit on the porch and listen to the rain fall.

The location is great. There are many things to do in the area that are 10-15 minutes away, and more just a hour or so drive.

It is a great bargain!

NO PROBLEM WITH A TRAILER AND MOTORCYCLE

Betty and Bannon Ridgeville, South Carolina
Review Submitted: May 6, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
GREAT CABIN

We spent 7 days in this great little cabin. We also had our Harley and trailer and had no problem. I would recommend it for anyone that has a bike and trailer and strongly disagree with the review advising anyone with a trailer and bike not to rent it. Also, it is centrally located for alot of great motorcylce rides and day trips on your bike. I hope to spend time there again next year or even sooner.

It's great!

Inside the cabin, it's very comfy, and has a home sweet home kindof thing going on. It has a great veiw of the mountains, and a nice deck. It had all the basic living needs, and more!
I would definitely recomend this to a friend, or anyone looking for a getaway cabin.
It's all around wonderful!

Great Mountain Getaway!

Dog-Lovers Blythewood, SC, USA
Review Submitted: December 28, 2007 Date of Stay: November 2007
My family visits the mountains every Thanksgiving. This log cabin was new, well-furnished, and well stocked. We all had a wonderful vacation. Drive to cabin was steep, but we were in the mountains afterall. We parked a four-runner and Camry easily in our parking area. We all enjoyed the full-size pool table. If you are into hiking like us, be sure to visit Turtletown Falls just over the Tennessee border. Murphy is plenty close for shopping and dining. We only ate out Thanksgiving Day. The cabin kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals with food we brought. Our dachshunds loved lying in front of the gas fireplace!

A good Trip

I stayed at the cabin while attending classes at the John Campbell School in Brasstown.

The cabin was quiet and peaceful, off the highway and about 30 minutes from school.
