From Home to Casa

We all (four adults with a grandchild of 3yrs) stayed at the apartment 6 - 9 November 2009. The apartment contains all the necessary items for all of us to feel very comfortable. In my case the nice sized LCD TV with nice assortment of cable channels... Just felt right at home....
Even though we talked for a very short time, Otto was very courteous and pleasant and made you feel right at home.
Next time I visit Puerto Rico, there is no doubt that I will call again.
I recommend the location to everyone. Don't forget to bring the Map you receive from Otto to reach the location. We had GPS which directs you to some roads which are closed..together with the map we arrived fast to the location. The Map is well documented and the step by step directions/instructions are very well written.
Definitely a nice safe place to stay....

Excellent family location. Always felt very safe. Owner bent over backwards to make sure that our stay was excellent. Lovely place and very convenient.

I loved this place and am glad we chose the property for our family trip. The apartment was great and clean with everything we needed. The beach was very close and there was some stores open 24 hours close by since we happen to be night owls. The area was safe and quiet also. The landscape of the property was wonderful and the lizards were a trip. I will miss going to sleep to the sounds of the coquis at night. Otto is amazing and we really appreciated the itenerary we received and used it often. Thank you so much Otto and look forward to visiting this apartment again in the futre.

This apartment was fabulous. Everything was just as advertised; clean, comfortable, and the location was excellent. This was my first trip to Puerto Rico and I could not have made a better choice! For certain I will return and would definitely recommend this apartment to any single travelers or couples. The walk to the local beach takes about five minutes and it's only 1-2 miles to the restaurants/nightlife/casinos in either Isla Verde or Condado. Having a car is necessary if you want to go outside the tourist areas but if you just want to stay near the beach and party a little then you can do fine without a car. I rented a car to explore beyond San Juan but then I'd take a 75-cent city bus in to Isla Verde or Condado and take a $12 cab ride home each night. That way there's no parking costs and no worry about drinking and driving. But the best thing about this property was the manager/owner, Otto. I did not get to meet him personally (he was traveling during my time there) but he was very diligent in making sure any questions were answered and went the extra kilometer (Puerto Rico uses the metric system) in taking care of the little details most people take for granted. So all things considered, this was an excellent apartment to rent. Inexpensive, clean, efficient, and a fine choice for someone who is looking for a great place while not breaking the bank!

My wife and I stayed 3 days before our cruise from SJ. Otto provided excellent information on the sites to visit, where to eat, where to avoid, driving instructions, etc. Had I known it would have been such a nice stay I would have planned for a longer visit on the island. In fact, if I do it again, I'll plan an island stay after the cruise when we can unwind more easily.

Gated neighborhoods and apartment access give a sense of security. People were quite friendly and accommodating. The apartments are very clean and updated with modern appliances.

Sorry we didn't get a chance to chat Otto, hopefully the next time!

A comment not related to the rental:

I scheduled a mid-afternoon flight after our cruise. The ship disembarks based on your flight time. Spent over 2 hours in lines at the airport due to the horrendous crowds that had accumulated by then. Earlier flights fared much better.

Try to see the beaches during the week. The crowds are much less then. Makes sense, but something I hadn't considered.

My friends and I stayed at Otto's for 5 days and we have to say that this was by far the best place in Puerto Rico! The location is superb and the apartment itself is great! Our personal favorite was the patio in the garden area where we spent almost all of our nights enjoying the warm breeze and the tropical surrounding! Of course I too have to mention that Otto himself is the greatest value of these apartments! You'll find it difficult to find a person as friendly, helpful and fun as he is! Thank You for the wonderful vacation, Otto! Will be definitely coming back again!

This was my return trip to this rental unit, and again, was perfect. No need to look elsewhere for price, location, or great accomodations. Neat clean apartment located in a very nice neighborhood, safe/secure, AND 3 blocks from a very nice beach. An artifical surfaced running track is two blocks away, right next to the local neighborhood police office. We had everything we needed for our two week stay. Otto, the landlord, was again helpful--in addition to enjoying a glass of wine with him, he again provided input as to what to see and visit.
We are looking forward next year to our 3rd trip to this absoulutely perfect vacation island, and a return to this perfect rental location..
Additional information: The top three eateries for true Puerto Rican food: Casita Blanca (1 mile away); La Tasca De Viyo (1753 Loiza-- 2 miles or so) known for lunches under $10 with great food and good service; and in Old San Juan,try El Jibarito.
Try the kiosks in Pinones, or just 2 miles past the entrance to El Junque National Park.

The place was beautiful. A much better choice than staying in a hotel. You are in the mix of Spanish culture. Its good to get a car during your stay but the beach is in short walking distance. I will be back.
