We come to Cheticamp with a large group every two years to visit relatives.
This was the first time we stayed in comfort.
Three different families in the same house, and it's still spacious enough to allow you to be alone if you want.
We had a great week entertaining our relatives who live in Cheticamp.
They were as impressed with the house as we were.
The outside deck is truly a spot I could spend all day on.
Working with Marianne was a pleasure.
We hope to return.

Our stay in this lovely home could not have been better. Cape Breton Island is a great place to vacation and this lovely house was the perfect place to stay.
The home is charmingly decorated and very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The views are unforgettable, the water is wonderful.
The hikes right from the house are very special.
We highly recommend this vacation home and hope to be able to return someday.

This charming, warm, and well-appointed home was a real treasure. Sea breezes kept the home cool all week, with not a bug to be seen. The view from the deck was so wonderful it was hard to get mobilized to partake of the many wonderful activities all around - whale watching, great hiking, wonderful biking opportunities, and fantastic fiddling in the evening at many places near by. Our week there will be fondly remembered forever, and we hope to return again.

If you are looking for a place to totally unwind, Cheticamp is the place to go! The accomodations were great! Every morning we saw Eagles, Seals and hundreads of Ocean birds. Once you arrive at the rental property in Cheticamp you have a beach all to your self for Kayaking and swiming which is a really nice treat. The trails on the bluff where spectacular for evening sunsets. The people in Cheticamp were really friendly. We spent a couple of evening checking out the local town entertainment. The music is a cross of country and french. The Acadian culture is very welcoming. The owners were very communicative in providing information on places to visit on you travels to Cheticamp and the surrounding area. In my opinion, Cheticamp has Ingonish beaten by charm and personality. Another must trip for the day is a day trip to MEat COve to the end of the Earth. Highly recomend it! Our entire family hopes that we can once again make our way back to Nova Scotia and enjoy the Ocean and cool evenings. Thanks for a great experience!

I could quite possibly fill pages and pages with all our memories of our stay on Cape Breton Island, but here in no particular order are just a few: Watching the sunrise from the deck of the cottage and seeing the eagles scavenge for their breakfast . . . hiking the Skyline trail in the national park on a blazing hot day and being rewarded with an indescribable view at the end . . . happening across a moose bathing in Benjies Lake at the end of a scenic woodlands hike . . . viewing the cliffs and caves and Fishing Cove (not to mention numerous pilot whales and their calves) from onboard Capt. Mark's Whale Watch boat--surely the best way to appreciate the coastline of the magnificent national park . . . on the only rainy morning of our week, discovering the masterpieces of Elizabeth LeFort at Les Trois Pignons museum in Cheticamp and having our kids declare they want to learn to hook rugs too . . . seeing hundreds of gray seals, bald eagles, blue herons, cormorants, and Atlantic puffins during our Bird Islands Boat Tour out of Big Bras d'Or . . . resisting the urge to lick the bowl after inhaling the blueberry bread pudding with hot brown sugar sauce at Restaurant Acadien . . . listening to local musicians perform on the boardwalk in town and watching a young girl get up and do a delightful impromptu step dance . . . arriving at La Boulangerie Aucoin one morning just as the chocolate croissants were being taken from the oven . . . enjoying the warm hospitality of the Carroll family's beautiful seaside cottage and returning home with our hearts full and our souls refreshed. Thank you for an unforgettable week.

When my brother-in-law (who lives in Whitehorse) announced he was getting married in Cape Breton, the search was on for accommodations that would be suitable for four generations of family members that would be staying together. The age range was 9 months to 81 years. We made the perfect choice in selecting this home! Great-grandma enjoyed reading her book on the deck admiring the views, while the younger generations went off for more active explorations. We loved taking our 3 year old in the kayak down to the nearby campground, which has a playground and a nice beach. The proximity to Cape Breton Highlands National Park was ideal, and we thoroughly enjoyed the drive around the Cabot Trail.

The house itself was absolutely spotless and so well appointed. We did some post-wedding entertaining at the house, and the relatives that came for meals were quite envious of where we were staying! There wasn't one thing we looked for in preparing meals that wasn't provided.

I would describe the house as upscale, but at the same time, it was very child-friendly. The deck is enclosed on all sides, so we felt very comfortable with the kids out on it. A portable crib was provided as well. My husband, 2 children and I stayed on the lower level which was massive and very sound-proof. My youngest daughter is not a good sleeper, but the relatives staying on the floor above us never heard her cry in the night or first thing in the morning.

Marianne was wonderful to deal with, both prior to actually booking the house and also once we had confirmed our reservations. She provided lots of helpful information about the house and area and was extremely prompt in her replies.

I will be recommending this home to anyone considering a trip to Cape Breton!

Our family of four enjoyed a fantastic week in Cheticamp and Cape Breton Island. The photos do not do the property justice, it is beautifully decorated, very clean, with enough space for everyone to get together, or create a little space all of their own. We were fortunate enough to make friends with the lobstermen just down the hill and had fresh lobster right off of the boat--a real treat. We enjoyed exploring the National Park and also visited Baddeck and Ingonish, both beautiful side trips and only about an hour away. We would highly recommend the accomodations and the town of Cheticamp. Everyone was very friendly and helpful along the way. Thank you for an amazing experience, we will be back.

I stayed with my husband, 2 children aged 5 and 9 and our dog for 1 week in August 2009 and had a truly wonderful and relaxing holiday. The location is excellent and provides a great base to explore the National Park and Cape Bretton. the kids loved exploring the small harbour next to the house and the lovely beach at the camp site was a short walk away. We especially enjoyed whale watching on a zodiac boat and walking the skyline trail in the National Park where we saw 3 moose. The house is even nicer than the pictures show and very successfully manages to achieve a perfect balance of style and elegance with comfort and practicality which is especially important when you have 2 kids and a dog! We loved eating out on the deck and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the location. Marianne was a perfect host and could not have been more helpful. The house provides everything you could need including beach towels and cool boxes. I would definitely recommend this as a great vacation destination and it was well worth the long drive and ferry drive from Massachusetts.
