Reviews of Property: Relax at Dad's Place Cabin on Secluded Creekside, but 5 min from Boone

My wife and 2 children (4 and 17 months) had a great week. This was a great cabin close to everything. My kids favorite part of the whole week was throwing rocks into the stream just below the cabin. My in-laws camped at near-by julian price campground. They have been coming to the boone area for 30+ years. My father-in-law said he had been looking for a place like this for 30 years. I am glad i have found it. As long as it is for rent, I will be back. Thanks to the owners for sharing the oppurtunity to stay at Dad's Place. I highly, highly, recommend this cabin.

Dad's Place was exactly as promised...a little piece of heaven for the weekend! Missed our turnoff, but the owner was accessible by cell, and directed us right in, turn by turn!!
Loved the view and the creek and fell asleep each night to the sound of the water thru open windows! A perfect place to "just get away"! Looking forward to coming back whenever possible! Thanks Don!! I have already recommended the place to friends!

Thank you for all the extra touches that made our stay so comfortable. The cabin has the convenience of being close to so many sightseeing areas. But when you are at the cabin you feel that you are in a secluded area. The best of both vacation worlds! We hope to visit again.

Dad's Place was absolutely amazing. Great quiet vacation if you want seclusion, yet minutes from all the ski lifts. Year round fun whether sitting by the fire at the creek or sitting by the fire inside the cozy cabin. Perfect getaway for any couple.

we were worried driving through the sprawl of hwy 221, but this cabin is very secluded for its proximity to Boone. it was very clean and comfortable, the perfect size for a couple. our only small complaint was that the kitchen was a little cramped, and the pots & pans could be replaced. the hot tub is excellent, and the bed was very comfortable. day trips from the cabin were very easy, and Mr. Baucom was very responsive to emails and phone calls. We got engaged while there, so "Dad's Place" will have a special place in our memories- we'll be back for sure!

My girlfriend and I stayed here in May. It is the perfect place to relax and get away from everything. Yet, you are five minutes from the shops and restaurants. We ate our meals on the little wooden platform that extends into the creek.
Dealing with Dad was pleasant and fuss free.
We will be looking to come back again.

We loved being right on the creek, the sound of the water was peaceful. We had rain and clouds the whole time of our stay, but it didn't matter much. Dad's Place offered us exactly what we wanted - relaxation in a beautiful, secluded cabin. The other cabins nearby were unoccupied so it felt even more secluded.
We definitely recommend this to any couple looking for some quality together time. Dad's Place is well maintained and has everything you'd need.

It was the perfect place for a getaway. The creek out back was beautiful, and the hot tub was the perfect place to watch the snow fall. The property was clean and well maintained and was in a great location near town but far enough away that it was secluded.
