Very Pleasant!

My family spend the 2011 Labor day holiday in the property. We went there a week after the hurricane Irene. Because of that the public beaches were closed earlier by the municipality, so we could not enjoy them. The beach is close to the property, about 5 min. drive.
The house is clean, well maintained with renovated kitchen and master bath. It has everything a family would need to have a nice vacation.
Sitting on the porch allows gorgeous views towards the lake and a pretty yard. The surroundings are very quiet. The road in front of the house has little traffic and with its scenic views is a good place to enjoy jogging, walking or a bicycle. The ferry terminal to Vermont is about a half a mile from the house.
In our opinion, the Cumberland head peninsula is one of the best options to stay in Plattsburgh.
As a whole, we enjoyed a very pleasant week.

No Beach

Stayed here for a week in August 2008 - no beach, despite owner's assertion that there would be by August. Huge rocks are the shoreline. Extremely steep steps lead to the water which is about 3+ feet upon entrance.

House was well appointed and furnished, nice view of lake from the porch and nice lawn around the house itself. Owner lives up over the garage. If you sit by the lake, which is across the street, it will be on a steep bank and not safe for children.

Very quiet area, nice road to walk by the lake though narrow with no shoulder; close to the ferry to Vermont.
Owner's Response: You should have seen the beach this (2012) year!! Lake levels vary from year to year, and late summer usually reveals ample beach for lawn furniture.
