A great stay in Rome

I have traveled most of my life, in the military and as an AirLine Pilot and after retiring I spent 3 years driving a camper around the world including across Russia from east to west in the summer of '95, so I have stayed in many places around the world.
I have to say this apt. was one of the nicest places I have had the opportunity to spend time in. My wife and I arrived in Rome on a rainy day and instead of riding the train as we should have we elected to take a taxi, poor taxi driver spent almost 45 minutes trying to find the apt. once we were in the area. The apt. is located on a narrow one way street which is nice as it keeps the traffic noise to a minimum. The unit has all modern facilities and is extremely well kept. There are many restaurants of different ethnic foods in the near vicinity, one especially good is the Russian one about 2 blocks up the street if you turn right after coming out of the building. The train station is a short walk and the bank with ATM is near, there is a Computer kiosk across the street from the bank where one can do their email for
very little cost, the men that run it are very helpful and friendly.
As for sight seeing, the Collisium(sp) is a 10 minute walk from the apt, one can walk to all the most interesting sights of Ancient Rome very easily. With the train station close by one can travel though out Rome very easily and safely, all one has to do is get a Rome Pass and it makes travel and seeing the special sights less expensive. If your intent is to see the Vatican, make sure you are there very early in the morning as the wait in line can be several hours if you arrive late and you may not get is as they stop selling tickets at noon.
The owner met us at the apt and was very kind and informative with help understanding the facilities in the apt, no hassle no rush, just a very nice man to welcome a person to his city. There is a large super market about a 20 minute walk up past the train station that has all a person could want, the Argentine beef is especially good. I have tried to cover just about everything I can think of with regards to our stay. If you are a person who does not mind a little adventure take the train to the stop near the apt from the airport. We should have done so but after the long flt from Newark we just wanted to go to bed. If you have questions to ask contact Angelo and he will give you my email address and I will be happy to answer you questions. have a wonderful time in the apt.
