Best Vacation Ever!

We recently spent another wonderful week at "Banana Cabana", our second year in a row. The property is all that the descriptions and photos promise and more! The house, pool and grounds are well maintained and give you the feeling of home. There is plenty of space for nine people, and a number of areas to get enjoy quiet time alone. I would highly recommend it for families or groups of friends. Even though the property is not directly on the beach, it is only a short 5 minute walk to get there. This stretch of beach is lovely and much less crowded than Destin or Seaside. There are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent by the day or week. There are a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance, a bike/scooter rental a block away and a Publix Market about a five minute drive. There is a great fresh seafood store called "Goatfeathers" within walking distance. For those who want to visit the Outlet Mall, Wal-Mart, or chain restaurants the drive into Destin takes about 20 minutes. There are many wonderful restaurants. Cafe 30-A is right on the corner, Angelina's Italian Restaurant a block down, and Bruno's Pizza a block away. In Seaside, about one mile to walk or cycle (parking there is at a premium, so I wouldn't recommend driving) there are many quaint shops and restaurants (Bud and Alley's was a great lunch spot). Pompano Joe's has wonderful seafood and is right on the water a few miles away. The Back Porch is also right on the beach and has great fresh seafood (bronzed Amberjack is a personal favorite) it is located in Destin. The owners of the house, Chris and Jennifer Martin, are always very helpful. They see to it that your vacation is enjoyable and stress-free (which is what a vacation should be). The security deposit we payed was returned very quickly after our vacation's end. I would highly recommend this location to anyone!

GREAT!

This was the best family vacation ever! Having your own private pool was the best!! We pretty much stayed in our swim suits all week. The walk to the beach was not far at all. We drove into Destin for shopping and a couple of times to eat out. Then drove the other direction to Panama City for the same. We ate most meals at the house - outside of course, enjoying every bit of the house. We plan to be back next year, it was very hard to leave.

Everything about our vacation was perfect. We loved your house. It was quiet and very relaxing and o so charming.. The decorations were really cool too... The pool was very relaxing as well.. My wife really loved the set up outside...She spent alot of time by the frog pond.. I really enjoyed the entertainment that your little town has to offer.. We will definetely be back again.. O thanx again for breakfast...

We loved our stay at Banana Cabana! The house was so spacious and clean. It was perfectly decorated and had sooo much character. I am a mother of three, ages 9, 7 and 1 year and let me tell you this place was perfect! We have stayed in hotels lots of times before but could never get comfortable because the beds are awful, the pillows are flat, and the kids are loud. So this vacation we decided to try a beach cottage for a week. This was the perfect decision, and I couldn't imagine going back to another hotel after this experience. First, we didn't have to worry about upsetting other guests because the kids were being loud, since we were the only people staying there. Second, the accomidations were so homey and comfortable! The beds were soft (and we didn't have to share a room with kids) and the pillows were just the way we like them. Third, there was so much room that the kids could all be in different areas of the house and not fight!!!! The house was also baby proof and even had a pack and play and highchair (which we didn't have room to pack with us for the trip). The pool was just the right size and we spent a lot of time in the screened in porch. We saved a lot of money cooking lunch and some dinners at the cottage too. We have been to this area of Florida several times before so we love the Seaside area. The house is in walking distance (with kids) to the beach and eating. As a mother of young children and a wife I would recommend this destination to anyone and will definitley be going back soon!!!
