A lovely southwestern villa

We tremendously enjoyed our stay at the House of the Dancing Sun, a beautiful vacation rental, as well as our visit to the Sedona area. The genuine Southwestern decor was charming. The setting was just the kind we like â?? a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, rimmed with gorgeous mountain scenery, and not too far from Sedona. As avid birdwatchers, we enjoyed seeing a variety of birds in the neighborhood. However, weâ??re sorry to have missed the roadrunner. We really appreciated the insider information on great places to eat and sites to visit that suited our interests. We would have missed some of the things we enjoyed the most without the hosts' personalized suggestions. The high speed Internet connection came in handy for flight planning for our private plane. With my bad back, I need a comfortable bed, so I was pleased that the bed in the master bedroom was just right. For the quality of the amenities, we thought the rates were very reasonable, even for one couple. Shared by two or more couples, it would be a real bargain. We would consider traveling with other couples in the future because the unusual floorplan would allow guests to enjoy different activities at once without intruding on each other. We recommend the House of the Dancing Sun enthusiastically.

After a long day of traveling across the country, we arrived at our destination. The home was just what the pictures on the computer looked like. Once we opened the front door we were quite surprised at how large the house actually was. Ben (the owner) was actually upon the premises. After introductions Ben showed us information that was neat and organized on a long table inside the front door. the information was everything on local stores, attractions of interest and other general information that one new to the area might need.
Ben told us to enjoy ourselves and call if there were anything that we needed.
Every room was nicely decorated with a decor that was true to the desert area. All the amenities were in good working order.
After a good night sleep on very comfortable beds,Our mornings would start out in the hot tub relaxing with a cup of tea/coffee while we were enjoying the views of the mountains.
Once we dried off with the large beach towels that were provided
then we enjoyed breakfast on the patio. When it was time to get ready to leave for the days adventures we always had plenty of hot water to shower and get ready to go.
Although secluded, which is what we wanted, we found the location of this home to be quite centralized to all the attractions of where we wanted to travel to.
After sightseeing all day it was always nice to return to our humble a bode.

The House of the Dancing Sun was an excellent vacation spot.
The house offered privacy and pleasant family gathering spots. Each of the bedrooms had its own bath and its own theme. The house was a celebration of Arizona and Southwestern heritage.
The kitchen was well equipped and clean. It was easy to prepare breakfast each morning. The house was close to a real grocery store in Cottonwood. We found most basic cooking supplies already at the house.
We were interested in seeing the area. A visit to Jerome was fun. Everyone enjoyed the Old Ghost Town the site of an old Gold Mine. Lots of Cafes and Shops to explore in Jerome. The kids (ages 26 & 28) had fun mountain biking in the Red Rock area of Sedona. A Pink Jeep Tour and hiking Trails in Sedona were other ways we enjoyed the red rocks. We used the house as a base for Day Trips to the Petrified Forest/Painted Desert; Sunset Crater and several abandoned Pueblos. Closer to home we visited several smaller National Historical Sites.
If someone in your party is 62+ buy the National Sites Senior Pass for $10. The senior and 3 friends can use the pass to visit many National Sites. This really reduces the admission costs. We had 5 days of fascinating activities easy walks and beautiful vistas for $10. Now that we are home we can use the Pass at many other sites.

A perfect house for groups needing personal space

This house was perfect for our large family get-together (Mom, 4 daughters, 3 cousins, 1 spouse and 1 daughter-in-law). Sleeping areas were strategicly placed to allow privacy - loud snoring wasn't even heard from one area to the next! 3 bathrooms, family room with fireplace, large dining room table, fully equipped kitchen, grill, hot tub and hammock on large patio, with 2 tables and 8 chairs, were all enjoyed by everyone. The time we spent together each evening here was very special. Since we planned outings each day, with Jerome in one direction and Sedona in another, our first AZ experience was better than we ever imagined. What a fantastic break from our Minnesota winters! We all want to return next year and hope to rent House of the Dancing Sun again! (Maybe we'll even bring our husbands next time.) Thanks Ben!

I just wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in
your beautiful home. We were very impressed with the goodie basket, the
park entrance passes, and the overall cleanliness and decor of your home.
We also appreciated your list of nearby restaurant recommendations. We ate
at Javelina Cantina, The Hideaway, and a local pizza place and found all to
be very good. We played a game every single night; thanks for keeping a
good supply of family games in the home.

Probably our favorite thing to do in the Sedona area was the Broken Arrow
Pink Jeep tour. What an adventure! We also enjoyed a hike in Boyton
Canyon, the Verde Canyon railway excursion, Tlaquepaque, and visiting some
nearby ruins.

It was a very memorable vacation. Thank you again.

This is a fantastic house. It is well-equipped, and tastefully yet comfortably decorated. There was more than ample room for our family of four. The patio and hot tub were our favorites. We have recommended this property to friends and will definitely stay there when we are back in the Sedona area.

We have just returned from a one week stay at "House of the Dancing Sun" and can't stop singing its praises to all our friends and family.
This beautifully-decorated Santa Fe style vacation home, situated among horse properties, is located in a quiet little community approximately 15 minutes from Sedona. The owners, Ben and Laura, are attentive and made an effort to make sure our needs were being met and our stay memorable. However, they were also very mindful of giving us our privacy. The sunsets and stargazing were hard to beat and the patio hammock proved a great place to take a nap!
Being golfers, we were delighted to be within 5 minutes of a nice course called Verde Santa Fe. The staff were very friendly, the course wasn't challenging enough to be frustrating, and they offer a fun "9 and Dine" package (9 holes of golf with dinner, after 3:00 p.m.) for $19.95 each.
Being close enough to shopping and dining in Cottonwood and Sedona, yet far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet are additional reasons that we hope to return again.
