Peaceful, relaxing getaway

grace58 Rochester, NY
Review Submitted: October 17, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My husband and I stayed at Camp Garoga during the week of Aug.31. It was by far the best "getaway" we've had! The property is spotless, welcoming and comfortable. Everthing about it speaks relaxation. The Adirondack decour and accents made us feel right at home immediately. Sitting by the firepit every night, roasting marshmallows was absolutely wonderful! The peace of the surrounding woods added to our stressfree stay. The kitchen was well stocked w/all you need to prepare meals and all the furnishings throughout were very comfortable. Chris was a wonderful host, spending some time visiting w/us but allowing us plenty of privacy as well.
We climbed a few mountain trails in the area and walked thru the wooded trails in the back of the house. We shopped in Saratoga Springs and just had plenty of relaxation time.
Thank you Chris and Dan for providing such a wonderful vacation spot!
We will return in 2010!
Owner's Response: David & Laurel,

Thanks for the feedback. It makes our efforts to create a great vacation getaway, worth it. Glad you had such a nice time. See you next year.

A little piece of heaven

Wife of the Birthday Boy Rochester, NY
Review Submitted: October 21, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Our family of 4 came in the fall for my husband's 50th birthday. We desperately needed time away as a family. We could not have picked a better place. The cabin was immaculate, cozy, welcoming, beautifully decorated and surrounded by colorful trees. My husband was very happy with his present.I was happy just sitting on the couch curled up with a blanket, with the fireplace on and taking it all in. I can't wait to come back!

Vacation at Camp Garoga

Brad and Wendy Brunswick, Ohio
Review Submitted: August 13, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Our stay at Camp Garoga was wonderful. We stayed for 7 days. The cabin has every amenity you can imagine and the nothing was left to chance. Chris and Dan put a lot of heart and sweat into this place and it shows. The pictures dont do it justice. We have a family of four and had plenty of room. We enjoyed campfires and the wood was provided. The cabin captures a rustic feel without losing features such as wireless internet and cable services. I would recommend that if you stay here you bring your laptop to help plan out your daily travels and discover some of the hidden secrets that the area offers. My family looked forward to returning to the cabin after our daily trips. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Thanks Chris and Dan!

My husband and I just wanted to get away for a couple of days and relax and this was the PERFECT place! The cabin was neat, very clean and furnished to perfection. If you're looking for a great place to eat, there is a restaurant in town called Union Hall, it was awesome! We will defintely return to this cabin.
Owner's Response: Rosanna & Mike,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We greatly appreciate your feedback, and enjoyed hosting such a nice couple as yourselves. Thanks again, and we hope to see you again soon.

Rent This Cabin!

Tobin Scranton, PA
Review Submitted: October 28, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
Dan and Chris, Janet and I had a wonderful time at your cabin. Just as the other reviews state, everything is picture perfect. It's like going to a highly hyped movie and having your expectations exceeded!

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway weekend this is the cabin you want to rent. I spent hours looking cabins up on the internet and chose Camp Garoga hoping to not be disappointed. Well, we couldn't have been more pleased! We will certainly be back again soon. Thanks again for a wonderful experience. You have both left no stone unturned when making your cabin the perfect vacation experience!
Owner's Response: Thank you for this great review. Given the amount of blood, sweat, and tears we have invested in Camp Garoga, its a great feeling when the guests express their appreciation. We're glad the cabin turned out to be such a nice retreat for the two of you. Thank you for visiting, and leaving the cabin in such great condition. See you soon!

Best Cabin north of NYC

Joel and Evelyn New Jersey
Review Submitted: September 25, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
Absolutely our favorite place to stay in the mountains, it's not soon enough until we book our next stay at "the cabin" with Chris and Dan as the best hosts around. Fire pit stocked, spotless accommodations, cleaner than some people's own homes, and the aromas are unforgettable as you will want to stay for weeks. Trails, country pines, fall colors, winter snow, and don't forget Cooperstown! Can't wait to go back again!
Owner's Response: Joel & Evelyn,

It is always nice to hear back from guests. We're glad you enjoyed the cabin and accommodations. This type of feedback makes all of the effort we put into making the cabin a great place to escape, definitely worth it! Come back and visit soon.

Cozy, comfy cabin retreat.

Antique shopper Delmar, NY
Review Submitted: July 7, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We have stayed at Camp Garoga two times; once in November and again this past June. The decor is country, quaint, and cozy with a dash of rustic charm. Upon your arrival you are greeted with the wonderful scent of lit candles, bear prints or leaves ingraved in the wood floors, and a variety of teas, flavored coffees and biscotti in a basket on the kichen counter.
The cabin is very clean, well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen (bring your own food, of course) and a million towels in the bathroom! The firepit is supplied with all the wood you need and the trails thru the woods are great fun.
The cabin is centrally located to just about anything you want to do. We like antiquing and were very happy with all the shops, big and small, in the area and returned with great finds. We reccommend The Dolgeville Mill in Dolgeville, Stone Mill of Little Falls, Little Falls Antique Center, and The Red Barn in Northville.
Chris and Dan are super! They were so accommodating. They live across the street, so you are not dealing with an "absent landlord". If you need anything they encourage you to call.
We had a great vacation both times we stayed. We had snow in November and sunshine in June. We would highly reccommend this cabin to all our friends and family.
Owner's Response: We are always pleased to hear back from guests who have stayed at Camp Garoga. It is our pleasure to provide every guest with a cabin and experience that meets your expectations. The guests who choose to return are especially welcomed. We have made a lot of friends over the past three years since Camp Garoga opened, and look forward to making many more in the years to come.

Just the perfect cabin

The Perrone Family Brooklyn, NY
Review Submitted: February 17, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2007
My family and I spent this past Thanksgiving at Camp Garoga. It has been several years since we have been able to get together for this holiday. Our objective was to spend some quality time together, reinforcing our love for one another. We hoped to find just the right place to do this. Well, we were so surprised at how perfect of a setting this cabin provided for us to reunite. Thanksgiving is suppose to be the holiday for families to truly give thanks for one another. There was something very special about the time we spent at Camp Garoga. Getting together was the main thing, but the ambiance provided by the cabin seemed to make the 4 days we spent together more than we could have asked for.

Thank you so much so the best Thanksgiving yet. We hope to see you again soon.
Owner's Response: We appreciate your feedback. It is always nice to hear back from guests who enjoyed themselves at the cabin. We hope to see you again soon.

We love the cabin!!!

Review Submitted: December 12, 2007 Date of Stay: August 2007
My wife, daughter and I stayed for 3 nights in August and before we left we knew we would be back, and we were back in October for two nights with my parents. It is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy the outdoors and stilll have all the comforts of home. We plan on returning for a week hopefully next summer. Chris and Dan are wonderful hosts (not on site but live across the street) and really make you feel welcome. The cabin is so nice! It is very clean and has everything you need except your food, there is a Price Chopper grocery store about 10-15 mins away and a Wal-mart not to much further. Don't miss the trails, there are three diffeent ones marked with colored ribbons, I think the red one was a nice 20-30 min hike and went right in a circle from one side of the cabin to the other. Our 3 year old had so much fun, she loved the cabin and always asks when we are going back, she was even able to bring her DVDs and Videos to watch at night and had the Disney channel in the morning with the Direct TV. Don't miss a vacation at Camp Garoga, you won't be disappointed!
