4 Bedrooms/2 Full Bathrooms - Sleeps 8 includes firewood! Near 3 ski lodges HITS

This is one of the great Woodstock cottages with huge artist window overlooking an amazing view of the mountains across the way. Just featured in Cottage Style Magazine. Completely renovated, including baths and chefs kitchen. Antique and modern furnishings with designer touches,makes this cottage so comforting to be way from it all. Fine linens and down quilts, and other cozy comforts make this home a real home! The main room features a 10' high real Woodstock artist’s window. Huge L shape couch and large pine coffee table (you can also dine here) dining table that seats up 8, and all in front of the stone fireplace. The kitchen is fully outfitted for the chef, with every utensil and cooking machine, as well as space for several to work in together.

The very private and romantic master bedroom has a queen bed, great views up the mountain. There is a den with a 27” TV, cable (hbo,etc) complete stereo piped throughout the house and patio. A/C units in bedrooms.

We have a room downstairs with two twin beds. upstairs another bedroom with double bed and window seat. the 4th bedroom is small but has an air bed in a queen double height.

Stone Patio in back features mid century modern dining set, Fire Pit and seating. As well as more seating areas around the property including a hammock with great mtn views and peace, a mtn top seating with recliners and views, as well as the vegetable garden fully fenced in and a stone patio with seating there too. the upper stone patio is gated and walled in as well. Full basement has easy access to the driveway, for dropping skis, bikes etc. There is an eliptical and spin bike with video/tv, as well as two bikes for your use. There is a caretaker for any emergencies, and a housekeeper for optional weekly/daily cleanup (maid service not included in rent, of 150+). Dogs are an additional 75 per dog per stay. we do not accept cats, sorry.

The firewood is included in your stay and designated by the door,

Tubing, Horseback, Hiking, Golf, Swimming Holes:: You can go tubing down the Esopus from Pheonicia. Horseback riding on Route 28 in Pheonicia. Famous swimming holes in Woodstock Village.(see swimholesofny.com) Golf in Woodstock. Amazing hiking trails all over! Fall leaf watching, skiing at belleyere, windham, hunter, plattekill, all about 30-40 min. Great restaurants, movies, music......

oh, and the woodstock animal sanctuary!! great to bring the kids to volunteer. we are bout 20 min to the HITS convention hotel too

I am an interior designer, and purchased this house while working on a reality show, that had a room in the house that reminded me of the living room in this house. and after looking for a place in the mountings for over a year, i said this is it! it was a wreck and I loved the challenge. I put a lot of love into this house, and I so enjoy my time, when it get to, be there! I also love to have friends up to share the beauty of the area and all it has to offer. I love the outdoor activities, from biking the beautiful roads and rail trails nearby, to snowshoe running at wilson park across the way, where there is also a great swim lake, which is very rare for the area. I am a yogini and an addict to yoga, so we have many styles and teachers to choose from here, as well as other wonderful spiritual experiences. I love to wander in and around the zen monastery up the road, and the tibet monastery where there is a great place for hiking up the mountain. but then I also love music, and having the bearsville theater nearby is blessing as well. but my favorite is the community. I love honest and non judgmental people, and I have found it here in woodstock. you will enjoy it too!

I grew up out west, and have been in the ny area now for 28 years. I am married for 25, and my husband loves to come up here from the city and just chill out and do some yoga with me. He is in the music biz, so it turns out he had many friends up here, so this has become a place 'hang' for him.

Why janna/owner chose Woodstock

the location near the village is a safe feeling, yet you feel as thought you are in a rural part of the area. we are west of the village and its very country like. the house has an 11 foot window with an outrageous view of the mountains across the way. the only neighbor you see, is across the way far from the road and its like a currier and ives new england scene! I also loved the history of the building which seems to be indicative to many in the area. It started out as a field house, where the lands there were used for grazing. then it evolved over 100 years to become what it is now, where along the way it was an artists studio in the 20-50's. the large stone fireplace is what really throws me! just laying in that room with the large window, stars out and the fire! romance

What makes this cottage unique

to be able to walk 10 minutes through a path through the woods and swim at a lake in this area is a rare thing! most the lands here are owned by the dep, dept of envirn. protection, and the waters they protoect are what feeds to nyc!! so to be able to walk over an swim is awesome. the many areas inside and outside this cottage makes it feel as though you can be away from it all

This house was the perfect place for us. My husband and I have 3 children and we all had a beautiful week in this place. The house is cosy and warm with a fire place, very comfortable mattresses in all bedrooms, kitchen all equipped and super clean, bathroom with jacuzzi also super clean... everything to make the whole family enjoy the house.
Super close to Woodstock, Zen Monastery, Belleayre and Hunter for ski!
Also the owner is a very nice person what is pretty important when you rent a place.
For sure we will book the house again.

Lovely and Homey

We came up here for a long weekend away from the city. This cottage fit the bill perfectly and everyone left feeling relaxed and restored. The house is cozy and sweet, and despite not being super spacious it has an excellent layout such that our group - two couples, two kids, and two women - had more than adequate space and privacy. We traipsed around the surrounding area, strolled around town, and mostly, and most deliciously, loafed around the living room on the supercomfy couches talking and reading. The place is very clean, all the linens were wonderful, and the house is full of endearing personal touches. We also cooked a great deal and the kitchen had all the tools we needed. Janna was very responsive both before and during our stay. We all hope to return soon, maybe in the summer to see it in a different light!

Wonderful Winter Stay

We had a wonderful three days at this quiet winter retreat. The location was ideal - 5 miles outside of Woodstock and close enough to ski resorts that our daughters took advantage of. The house was clean, cozy, filled with beautiful light during the daytime. We spent time in Woodstock, going to yoga classes, eating at great restaurants. We took advantage of the Wilson State Park hiking in the snow. We also had a couple of communal meals in the home, and had fun preparing the meals in the kitchen. The description of the house was perfect - there were no surprises (except positive ones!).

Perfect Escape

We came here with a group of 4 to celebrate our beloved friend's birthday. The house is simply beautiful. Can't say enough good things. Close to a lake, quite street, overlooks mountains, and plenty of enclosed space for the dog to run around. The interior is tasteful and calm inducing.
We were a few minutes away from most things and close by to our favorite restaurants. Love Janna's Woodstock house!
Definitely planning on a return trip for a longer stay.

Beautiful House! Wonderful Stay :)

I'm still buzzing with gladness from our weekend away. We were a group of friends, all looking to enjoy some time together, and this house really enabled it. It is LOVELY! Everything about it was pleasing. I can't say we found one problem. It is truly as lovely as the photos show, more actually. It provided for all of the luxuries of home, and MORE. The main living room, kitchen and outdoor patio each have individual speakers (each room with separate volume control)- I want this at home. All amenities were truly thought of, there were even plenty of games (board games, horseshoes), to keep a group well entertained for days.

But REALLY...what sets this house apart is that the owner is an interior designer, and a VERY TALENTED one! This home showcases what lots of love, attention to detail and GREAT taste level can bring to a home. What more can I say? Our stay could not have been better. We all noted that every time you looked around, you there was some great new detail to "take in". If you are looking for a true retreat with PLENTY to see and do, this home will suit you no doubt!

Oh... and one more thing, the morning sun through the living room window! SO BEAUTIFUL! GREAT for Hummingbird watching :)

It's not always easy to please eight out of eight people in a group- Janna's home did just that. For certain- each of us would LOVE the return. Thank you Janna :)

Beautiful, peaceful time

For years, my friends and I have talked about renting a cabin upstate for a long summer weekend. Finally, this year, we managed to pull it all together. I spent hours on home away searching for the perfect place, preferably on a lake, but when I saw this beautiful cabin, I couldn't resist. Everyone quickly agreed this was the place for us.

Upon arrival, everything was exactly as we had hoped for. Got into the house with no trouble. Gorgeous home! Such cute interior decor! Tons of space both inside and out! Even though it's not a huge house, it felt very spacious, even with 8 people. It rained for most of our stay but we were perfectly happy staying inside - cooking, reading, playing games, and relaxing.

From start to finish, my interactions with Janna were laid-back, amicable, and efficient. We made a huge effort to leave the house in exactly the same condition as we found it, but it was so nice not to feel extreme pressure from the owner to do so. I have stayed in homes where the expectations have made me feel like I can't even live like a normal person. Not saying there weren't rules, because of course rules are a must, but they were completely reasonable.

I would definitely recommend this place to friends and even come back myself!

Great weekend!

We recently did a long weekend at this wonderful house. Three couples and a toddler, and everyone had a fantastic time! We ate almost all our meals in, and didn't want for any supplies. We enjoyed s'mores at the firepit and some pretty intense Cranium competition after the baby was asleep.

The bedrooms were perfect, the small room off the master was ideal for a portable crib. Sitting in the living room enjoying the view was a wonderful spot for that morning cup of coffee (made extra delicious by the grinder in the kitchen- bring those whole beans!).

We also had two dogs, who had a blast.

This was our first time renting a house and Janna could not have been easier to work with. I highly recommend this house!!

Also, don't miss the Mt. Tremper fire tower hike or the Big Deep swimming hole.

My favorite upstate spot

This house is my favorite place to spend the weekend with friends. We've stayed here several times over the past few years. Janna is very amenable and is quick to be in touch--something that I very much appreciate. The house is big enough with 4 bedrooms (perfectly distanced from each other) yet still very cozy. Honestly, we end up spending all our time between the kitchen and living room and the the back patio. The front yard is fenced in and connects to the back patio so the dogs can hang out without a ton of supervision. My only suggestion would be to perhaps switch out the air mattress for a futon in the 4th bedroom. I also really love the location...close enough to Woodstock and Phoenicia but not right in the middle of those towns. It really is a great place to spend time with friends.

Amazing Cottage

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your beautifully restored 1920's stone cottage--a fantastic job! Not only is the cottage itself amazing, the property is absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed having our morning coffee out on the bench up on the hillside in back of the house--stunning view; loved communing with nature. And Janna, you are so kind and generous to contribute 10% of our rental cost to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, where we volunteered for two days. Thank you!!!
