About Rich Proto

My wife Ann and I live in Massachusetts with our two daughters. We love to travel and vacation, though its not always possible with four busy schedules. Our vacation homes in New Hampshire and Maine allow us to get away on a moments notice. We hope our guests will enjoy them as much as we do!

Rich Proto purchased this house in 2007
Why Rich Proto chose Newfound Lake

On our way to see this property for the first time in August 2007, we drove up West Shore Drive past Newfound Lake and were just amazed at the beauty of the lake and surrounding area. We arrived to to see the quintessential New Hampshire cabin with its natural wood siding, beamed ceilings, knotty pine walls, country kitchen, handmade tapestries and quilts, and an artist's touch throughout.

We had a wonderful weekend at Indian Summer; it is a great place with a warm home-like feeling! We really appreciated walking in and having the wood stove already going and warming up the place, and there were lots of compliments all around as far as the cleanliness, the HUGE bathrooms, the furnishings, the lovely blankets on the twin beds, the wall hangings (there were a few crafters among us), the well-appointed kitchen, and perhaps our favorite item -- the five flickering candles in the kitchen window. It was great to have the DVD player so we could enjoy a movie on Saturday night, and many of us enjoyed being able to take advantage of the Wi-Fi connection.

Our thanks and compliments to the owners.

What more can anyone say. Another fabulous weekend spent with friends in a truly remarkable place. As two friends from last year couldn't make the trip, two new friends filled in. Everyone, again, loved the house, accommodations, space, cleanliness, everything.

It is always bittersweet for us to leave from our girls weekend away, but we know that we have another planned for the new year--Oh happy days.

Thanks, Rich for allowing us another super time away with friends. And thanks Donna for the fireplace poker.

We just got back from our long weekend at Indian Summer. We were pleased with everything about the house, it was clean, well stocked, and had plenty of room. We had 4 adults and 3 kids in our group and there was a place for everyone. We hope to get back there in the summer!
Thanks for having the woodstove going when we arrived! That was a nice treat on a cold October night.

We just got back from our week up at Indian Summer and we had a blast! We had 13 people in our group and never felt crowded, plenty of room for all! We had a couple great fires in the fire pit! We went hiking twice up to the waterfall, and a few days at Wellington State Park, what a nice beach, the directions provided to all area attractions were a huge help! Thanks so much for your rental we really loved it!

Hi Rich - Can't tell you how much fun we had this past weekend. Your house is great for families (6 of us). We hiked/snowshoed Mt. Cardigan - beautiful. We awoke Sunday to 6 more inches of snow - so pretty. We can't wait to come back in warmer weather and hike again. We read about the swim hole across the way which will be fun, also. Your home is comfortable and so relaxing. Can't wait to take in the wrap around porch in warm weather. You have a great place - Thanks again, Rich.

Beautiful Getaway

Me and my friends enjoyed our stay at your house very much. The place was spotless and well prepared for us upon arrival. There was an ample amount of firewood both indoors and out for use in the large firepit with plenty of seating, or for use in the woodstove in the lower level of the house. The views from the living room were very nice, and the river across the street is absolutely beautiful. The large rocks are the perfect place to just sit back on and relax with the flowing water. Even though we lost power the second night there during the storm, the woodstove kept us all plenty toasty, and no one ever worried for a second. I'd have to say that the ample amount of sleeping arrangements sets this place on another level when compared to other properties. It's very difficult to find a place that can sleep this many comfortably, staying at a good price, in a good location, and with plenty to do around it. I will definitely be looking to rent again sometime in the future. Thanks Again!
