Beautiful Family Retreat

My husband and our children spent a week in beautiful Blue Ridge, Georgia right after Christmas in 2007. We almost cancelled our trip because my husband's father died unexpectedly right before Christmas. But, we thought it might do our family some good to get away from it all. What a delightful and wonderful retreat. The cabin is warm and cozy and made us feel as if we were in our own home. The location is just beautiful. There is a small creek just below the cabin that you can hear when you're sitting on the back porch sipping on hot tea or coffee. My six year old daughter had the wonderful experience of milking goats for the first time in her life at the little farm just down the road. The people were so very nice there. We saw beautiful sites at dams in the area and trekked to a few of the local waterfalls too. Our children range in age from 6 to 17 so we went trying to find a good family vacation that everyone would enjoy, a cabin in the mountains seemed like our best bet. The owners have the cabin stocked with fun family board games, there is satellite TV, a pool table and hot tub. We all had a wonderful time! We will definitely go back and rent this cabin again. Most importantly, the week we spent was a perfect start to healing after the loss of my father-in-law. I cannot think of a more beautiful place to have spent that week. Thank you!!
