Cape's End Cottage is located on the southern tip of Southport Island in the Boothbay Harbor Region of Maine. Situated at the end of the road in a quiet neighborhood, the cottage has a large deck with lovely views of Newagen Harbor, Cuckold's Lighthouse, Damariscove Island and the open ocean. With two bedrooms (one queen bed, one double bed), one bath (with a large shower), a living room with plenty of comfortable seating, a large fully equipped kitchen with a dining area, and a brick patio with a gas grill out back, this is a wonderful spot for two couples or a small family to vacation in. It is a short walk from the cottage to the town dock, from which the view of Newagen Harbor is absolutely stunning. A five-minute walk in the other direction brings you to the Newagen Seaside Inn, where they have a dining room and pub and a great walkway right along the harbor's edge. A five-minute drive along the west side of the island brings you to the Island Store and a little further to a sandy town beach. At the top of our road is the town library with Wi-Fi and a butterfly collection you won't want to miss. The beautiful Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are also nearby.
Boat Mooring: We also have a boat mooring available suitable for your boat up to 35 feet that includes an 8 foot skiff at the town dock to get to your moored boat. Your boat would be visible from the cottage and protected from the sea in Cape Harbor. If you wish to or need to use a boat launch site, there are two located just off Southport Island and a third boat launch site on Hodgdon Island. All are public access usage with the site on Hodgdon being the easiest launch site to use. Refer to your area map.
Town Library/ Wi-Fi: The Southport Town Library is located at the top of our road. The library has computers and Wi-Fi available. There are several reading rooms, used books for sale, a large children's room, a butterfly collection, evening programs...Quite an amazing library for a small island town!
