Great place! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Very quiet location. Just what we wanted. Steps were steep to water, so not good for elderly or handicap.

Stayed for a week again this time during Fourth of July. Had a wonderful time watching the fireworks by the water. Also got a chance to visit the local wineries. Great house and plenty of room for our family. We enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming and kayaking at SML. Thanks for having the kayaks available to use.

Glorious Week at the Lake

What a great place for a vacation! The house is airy, spacious, comfortable, and secluded but still close to lake activities and shopping. We loved the dock for swimming and fishing and the pavilion for evening relaxation. Watching the belted kingfisher catch its dinner was especially cool.

The kids loved the beach at the state park, which is just a short drive or boat ride. And don't forget to take them to the arcade at Bridgewater Plaza! Adults should check out the winery just up the hill - they had a concert one evening while we were there.

Everything was great - we'll definitely be back!!

We had a fabulous time at the Four Seasons Chalet on SML. The house is beautifully decorated, clean, VERY spacious and the beds are super comfortable!!! Our favorite spot is the pavilion by the water which provides excellent view of the main channel and must be enjoyed with a glass of wine or beer. (Okay, there's great fishing off the dock too). The house sits on a wooded lot (wonderful color in the Fall) and offers lots of privacy. We saw wild turkeys, blue heron and deer. We visited the winery nearby and enjoyed talking to them about the area. We also enjoyed the beautiful Fall scenery by boat which we highly recommend! We will definitely go back to the Four Seasons Chalet!

We had a wonderful time on our vacation. The location of the house is great. Close to the Bridgewater, grocery and shops. The house is very large and clean and beautifully decorated. I loved the pavillion. The views from the dock and the pavillion are wonderful. Smith Mountain Lake is beautiful. We rented a jet ski, caught fish off the dock, visited WWII Memorial in Bedford and went antiqueing in Rocky Mount.

Visit in the Fall!

My husband and I went in the Fall - it was beautiful! The house is nestled in the woods, and the leaves were changing colors - great scenery. If you like wine, they have a winery at the end of the road -- great company and a short drive back to the house. Would highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay. The description was right-on, and it's even better in person than what you see in the pics. There's lots of room in the house for the kids to play, or if you want privacy, and it's right on the water which was nice. (The water was still really warm in September!) They were in a private cove off the main channel, and it only took us a few minutes to ride up to the restaurants and stores. Plus, it was nice because the cove had calm waters which made it easy for the kids to swim and for the adults to float. (They have a nice backyard for the kids to play too.) The steps are a bit steep leading down to the dock, but they're well lit at night and it was good exercise. :) We'll definitely be back again.
