The day I was to check in around 1:30 P.M., I received a call stating that the AC was not working and that the repairman would be there soon, but that we could go in early as the cleaning lady was done. So, in the middle of my lunch, I had to get up and go let the AC guy in. When I got there, the AC was working and I thought what a beautiful place. Well maintained and decorated. I was wrong. The place was dirty, with LOTS of dead bugs on the floor and on the oven fan and light. Bathrooms were not clean so I had to clean them along with the oven fan/light before we could use them. I emailed her right away about the uncleanliness and she called my cell phone and told my daughter that I was fabricating and that she took offense, so I sent her pictures, which she never acknowledged. The AC worked on and off, mostly off at night, and we had to spend 3 nights with no air at 82-86 degrees inside the house. The owner did keep trying to get the AC fixed BUT expected us to be there when the AC repairman came saying Now if you don't answer your phone and let him in, and have no AC, it is on you. Not sure about you, but I don't think that staying there on our vacation to let him in should have been our responsibility. She also took no responsibility in the place not being clean even after I forwarded her pictures of the bugs and the toilets. I wrote to her after returning home, and did request our cleaning fee deposit as well as one night rate be returned due to the inconvenience of no air for 3 nights and the fact that my husband stayed around to ensure that he be there for the AC guy. She did return a day's rate but said the place was clean. Not sure what her idea of clean is but it is not the same as mine. I would love to be able to post the pictures that I took of what her idea of clean is. There were some good things. The weather was nice, and the distance to the beach was in walking distance, however if you are taking a lot of stuff to the beach, I would recommend the golf cart. The outdoor pool has been updated since my last stay so if you have little ones, they will enjoy it. The lake is beautiful but be prepared for a lot of bugs in the evening.

I stayed here with my family (mom, step dad, husband and three kids ages 5,11, and 13) and we had a blast. House was spacious and so close to the beach, indoor pool and outdoor pool. We were able to have an amazing vacation without spending a ton of money! The owner called to check to be sure things were ok for us. We have already booked this house for next year!

This was our 2nd year renting this home for our family and we love it! It is very clean, great location, and renting the golf cart for the week is a must. It's only a couple minute ride in the golf cart to the ocean, were you have a private parking area for the complex. Every morning my son and husband enjoyed fishing in the back yard, and my daughter loves feeding the ducks. Both pools are great, and the kids enjoy the playground and basketball court. It's like getting 2 vacations in one, the home is in a quiet park like setting, but close enough to the "strip" and ocean too. We plan on making this a yearly tradition with our family.

We had a great time feeding the ducks, visiting the area and generally enjoying the views. The house was clean and very comfortable for two couples, each had their own bedroom and bathroom.
We would definetly consider coming back!

My family and i stayed here is Sept. of 2010...needless to say we are coming back in Sept 2011! For my jaw to drop when i walked in the front door and look out all the windows in the living room and see the ducks on the water and the sun coming threw onto the beautiful hardwood floors, it took my wife and my breath away! we had seven people in the house and could of had two more, we had plenty of room to spread out and not be on top of each other.The bathrooms were very clean and the beds sleep better than the one we have at home! The golf cart was a plus for me, after 6 leg surgeries and 4 ankle surgeries that made getting around the complex so much easier. when we opened the outside closet to our suprise was beach toys and surf riders and beach chairs....even had fishin poles for the pond in front of the house, that was awsome. Well i could go on for 5 or 6 more pages of how great this place is, so i will some it up like this. I worked in the myrtle beach area for 3 months a couple of years ago and was put up in one of the so called five star high end, high dollar resorts that cost on average $175 a night. Oceanfront room with balcony and flatscreen tv's in every room...... and this house is 10 times better than the five star resort!!! And best of all it was time i got to spend with my family that i don't get to do much in this rat race we call life. we got to stop, take a breath and Relax! That is what i think of Rental 135224 on home away.com. Thank you Cyndi for letting us have a little piece of heaven while still here on earth, looking forward to Sept 2011!

It is a very nice place to stay. I could spend all my time there and the beach

very clean and quiet. security is very good. will enjoy going back. lot of things to do and see. beach very close. will recommend it to anyone who needs a relaxing get away.

Our family of 6 stayed here during April vacation 2011. I was a bit concerned when we pulled in b/c I didn't realize it had a mobile home type feel to the community. I'm not certain if it is because it wasn't prime season or not but this home was on a lot where it was extremely quiet and we didn't feel like there were a bunch of homes on top of us. It was very quiet in the community. The home was a nice surprise. The 6 of us were very comfortable for the week. The outside deck overlooking the pond was perfect. We really enjoyed playing cards out there and watching all of the wildlife. You would never know you were near a main road. The interior was so bright and lovely and well furnished. I loved the set up. The drawbacks were that there was only 1 closet in 1 bedroom but pleanty of drawer space and the mosquitos (probably from the water) were pretty bad early in the AM and at night. The golf cart was a huge plus and you couldn't beat the location. Just a very short ride in the golf cart to the beach/restaurants/outside pool. We didn't utilize the outside pool but I did go to the indoor pool which was really nice. The children loved the playground. For the price you can not beat renting this lovely home and I am extremely picky. I do wish that the cleaning service would do the linens because I was stressed out all week about how we would leave at 5AM and i would be able to get the linens done. We ended up leaving a day early so that we could leave a little later in the AM and get the laundry done. You can bring your own linens if you'd like though. The positves of this home outweigh the negatives by far. I wouldn't hesitate to rent it again.
