Location was fine, short walk to subway stops. Photos are take with a fish eye so everything looks full size. I know it's NYC but a 4' ceiling height in the upper sleeping area? Please. down stairs was efficient although 6' head room in the restroom for a 6' guy was a bit tight. My boat is more spacious. Clean and neat as a pin and the downstairs bed worked just fine. TV takes a magician but i don't do TV anyway, no loss. Owner is a great guy and was on time for check in. I could recommend this property albeit with full disclosure of the measurements. Have breakfast at the Ukranian place on 2nd Ave. It served the purpose for me, single business guy in town for 2 days, no entertaining.

Good place to stay. Well located (5 minutes walked to the subway astor place.) very clean. Very nice orner.
A bit noisy though (many bars and restaurants around).

My boyfriend and I headed to NYC for a long weekend to celebrate our birthdays. From the suggestion of a friend, we decided to try VRBO instead of a hotel. We are so glad we did! The location of this apartment is so perfect! We truly felt like New Yorkers for four days. The Saint Marks Market is just down the street and open 24 hours. The Orpheum Theater is right around the corner. (Stomp was amazing!) There's a delicious cafe right underneath the apartment, as well as a coffee shop across the street, and a fabulous Ukranian 24 hour restaurant around the corner. Plus, walks to the subway and Katz's Deli is only a few blocks.

As previous reviews stated, Haim, the owner is very friendly and helpful with great communication. The apartment is very small, but very clean. Space was not an issue for us as we basically wanted a "home base" and a place to sleep. However, it would have been nice to know about the extremely low ceilings. I'm 5'9" and had only a couple inches of clearance in the kitchenette and bathroom, but my boyfriend is 6'4" so he had to be hunched over most of the time. There is no way anyone can stand in the loft, unless a small child, kneeling might not even do it. We were there only four days and basically just to sleep and shower, but this may be an issue for those who are staying longer. We appreciated the large fridge for snacks and beverages and the double burner hot plate to boil water for tea. All of the kitchen dishes and utensils we would need were also provided, as well as plenty of linens.

If you want a true New York experience, we highly recommend this apartment! The neighborhood is very safe, friendly, and energetic!

We stayed here a week during Christmas to be close to our son. We were about 4 blocks away in the heart of the East Village. This is a small place as advertised. About 8 feet wide. Haim, the manager who we dealt with was very nice and accommodating. However, the picture showing the stairs to the loft bed is misleading insomuch as an average person cannot even kneel on the mattress without hitting their head on the ceiling. NOT A PLACE FOR TALL OR LARGE PEOPLE. Stay here for the location or price or a New York small apartment/loft experience. The bed downstairs takes up too much room and having more than a couple stay here would not be wise.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and wished we had been able to stay longer. Haim the owner was very helpful, and met us as expected on our arrival. As we had just had a very long flight I was very happy he was so reliable. The apartment was exactly what we expected, and very neat and clean, with everything we needed supplied. Yes, its small, but cosy and comfortable - and all that is needed as a base for exploring. It felt like were living in the 'real' New York, rather than being in a hotel which could be anywhere. We found it to be a fantastic location, and so easy to get anywhere. We loved being able to stroll the streets, and soak up the atmosphere. We crossed through Washington Square several times and it was always a buzz with musicians or performers - such fun day or night. We always felt safe, and found people in general to be very friendly and helpful. Haim recommended the Cafe Orlin downstairs and the Mogador Cafe down the street, we tried both and were not dissapointed - I highly recommend a visit to both! Jules bar was great for some late night jazz; and McSorley's is also not to be missed - and old pub where two drinks are one! Just love the history. We continued traveling from here, and then on our return to NYC stayed uptown. We loved this area so much we came back down for dinner and also to see Stomp (which was fantastic!) as we had not been able to fit it in at the start. I have no hesitation in recommending this studio as a place to stay while exploring NYC and hope we can stay again sometime in the future - for longer next time!

An excellant location plus the owners were very helpful and great to work with. Definately an authentic East Village Studio (small), but it does the job as a safe place to sleep, shower and leave your things. If you're planning to be out and about all day and night, this is a great spot.

We chose to book an apartment for our week in NY as I tend to get fed up in hotels for more than a couple of nights, the apartment was fantastic, small but perfectly formed.

The East Village is a brilliant area, loads of food places, intresting shops and not as touristy as some parts and we felt perfectly safe, the apt is close to a subway and is above a fantastic cafe/restaurant that's open from breakfast 'til dinner and near to McSorleys and 150 year old pub thats not changed at all, we stopped by most night, they serve two beers light & dark and it's a two drink minimum.

Everything in the description was 100% accurate, all though small, it has everything you need & more, great shower, TV with loads of channels, Mac computer with internet accress, Wifi, towels & bedding provided, the kitchen is well appointed for small meals, snacks ect, well maintained, warm & cosy (which we needed with snowmagedon hitting on the Wed) and VERY VERY clean.

And perhaps most importantly a great owner, we arrived on the Friday after Hurricane Sandy and there was no power which prevented us for moving in, so we had to stay in a hotel, Haim had advised us in advance and kept us well informed throughout and did not charge for the nights we did not stay, and has quickly provided us with he info we needed so we can claim back the hotel money back from our travel insurance.

I would highly recommend this apartment, it's everything you need and want, great price, great location, great experience, great owner, we were in NY for the marathon (which was cancelled) so if we go back next year to run, this is where we'll be staying.

This place was a great home base for exploring all New York has to offer. The place is clean, comfortable and cool! The owner was there to meet us when we got there and was very helpful. The neighborhood is a lot of fun too, lots of good bars and restaurants including the Cafe Orlin just below. Subway stations are a short 2 and 3 block walk that will take you all over Manhattan including to Union Square and Time Square from where you can get almost anywhere that you want to go. NYU is also close by and the coeds are out to party on the weekends and the bars in the surrounding neighborhood.. I recommend Bull McCabes about a block west, it's a really friendly and fun place! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and stay here again! Thanks again Haim for a great stay!
