Tuscany’s main towns are within close proximity: San Gimignano, Pisa, Florence Lucca and Siena are all within a 40 miles distance, as well as the seaside which his only 30 miles away. Tirrenia Golf Club is just 40 minutes driving far.

Perfect place

we stayed for few days at Borgo Fajani in Casanova and had most wonderful time. Lovely house, perfect for family of 4, great view , and a perfect host Mr. Alfredo. We stayed in Il Signorino and it had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Mr. Alfredo accompanied us to their neighbour where we bought eggs, home made yoghurt, juice and cheese. Everything was excellent ( yoghurt & cheese- if they would deliver, I'd be their regular customer:))
Location is perfect as it allows you to acces all the interesting sights easily by car and on the other hand it is calm and relaxing. For Firenze we took train to avoid heavy traffic , it vas very comfortable and kids loved it. We axplored Tuscany in a different way and realized how it is even more charming when you avoid main attraction sigths and explore it through local roads.
Mr. Alfredo was very helpfull with his advice how to get around and in my opinion the whole place reflects his gentle personality. I would highly reccomend this place to everyone!

Tuscan Paradise

We stayed at Il Signorino this year with our two girls (ages 2 and 5) and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Alfredo was a fantastic host and greeted us warmly and with a lot of information. The villa is nestled away in a beautiful countryside oasis of farmland and rolling hills. We were instantly mesmerized.

The local inhabitants of Casanova are incredibly friendly and eager to talk; even though we do not speak Italian, nor they English, we were able to communicate and enjoy each other's company. One night Alfredo arranged to have a lovely woman from the village cook a meal for us and it was everything we'd hoped for - the best chicken cacciatore and eggplant parmasean cooked by a grandmotherly Italian woman.

We were early in the season and were the only guests until the day before we left. The pool was a little chilly in May but the girls and I loved it. The girls also loved walking down to the farm and petting the animals and playing with the local dogs Luna and Otto.

The building was very well renovated and the rooms were clean and well-furnished.

Location is also great for day trips around the area. We visited Pisa, Lucca, Volterra and other small communities nearby. The drive from Pisa was not long and, once we got used to Italian road signage, it was easy to get around.

If the flight to Italy were not so expensive, we would come to Il Signorio every year!

An Amazing Family Stay

We stayed in beautiful Casanova in May of this year and could not have been any happier. The location is brilliant with the amazing winery right across the street and the beautiful views from every angle. It was also a great location to get around Tuscany's wonderful cities and hill towns. The owner was very hepful and the house was perfect and very clean and very well taken care of. Our two year old son asks often when we can return to his Italy house. We hope that we will be able to get back to this beautiful place one day again! Thank you for having us!

Breathtaking view, rustic charming farmhouse

We were two couples that stayed in Il Signoro and just loved it. The farmhouse was adorable, very efficient, all amenities were to be found. The view from both bedrooms was breathtaking, rolling hills of vineyards. There was a local farm just a very short walk away with wonderful fresh dairy products, eggs, etc. The people who ran it were so friendly. Across the street was a winery, La Spinetta. The best wine tour I have ever been on. The nearby town did actually have one of the best restaurants (and the best Limoncello) we experienced in Italy. Also there is the cutest little lady that will come in house and cook a dinner of your choice for you, superb cooking! The nearby towns are a must to go visit, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa. Alfredo was the most charming, helpful host. I cannot say enough good things about our stay....wish it was longer.

Very pleasant stay. Rustic. Good views. Very helpful owner. Good access for Pisa, St Giminano and Lucca. Avoid the coast and Florence in August - too busy. Good local wine. We had a lovely stay and children were happy in the pool. The pool is down some steps on a terrace. Don't cook - there is a very good local restaurant, which we wished we had known about earlier. Ask Alfredo......

A perfect escape location!

We recently spent an absolutley perfect week at Borgo Fajani. We both run our own businesses and wanted to get away from everything to a quiet spot in the hills - and that's what we did!
Casanova is a picture perfect hamlet, in the most beautiful location amidst stunning views accross the Tuscan hills. We had everything we needed in our little house plus a perfect spot for al fresco dining overlooking to pool and the hills.
A short 3 minute walk we could buy local cheese, wine, honey, yogurt and vegetables, plus the bread man came everyday - we didn't want to leave!
Terricciola town, just a short drive, or cycle ride away has even more to offer. Lots of shops and even more breathtaking views.
Alfredo, our host couldn't have been more helpful, always happy to talk and to give helpful tips on the local area, and the best places to visit.
I honestly can't praise Borgo Fajani highly enough,we will definately be going back- as soon as possible!

Perfect Location

six of us stayed in casa Lanciotto for two weeks the farmhouse is Rustic, clean and well maintained with free wifi, it is large with plenty of space and privacy which was great for 3 couples, also three bathrooms meant we all had our own There are no negatives to report with our holiday the location is perfect, the views are stunning and local people very friendly. Alfredo was always helpful and gave us some good advice on local restaurants and amenities, the food in local restaurants is excellent and very reasonably priced. We also has Flora a local lady cook us an excellent meal which was cheaper than going out and with plenty of local vineyards you have your choice of wine.
Mountain bikes are provided free of charge and we made very good use of them, the roads are great to cycle on and means you can visit local small villages. Peccioli is a challenging uphill ride to a small village with central square and fantasitc views, if you go by car go at sunset as there is a viewing area with wonderful sunset views.
We visited Florence, pisa and Lucca all lovely towns with some great architecture but obviously busy and more expensive than the local area around Casanova. If you enjoy a holiday with friendly locals and not too many tourists then Casanova will not dissapoint, you can relax and unwind in a perfect setting, with the option of visiting the busy tourist landmarks easily.

We stayed 2 weeks at Il signorino and just had the best vacation. The property is well maintained and 2 big bedrooms. Borgo Fajani is close to several towns and easy you can easily access Florens by train. The pool area is well kept and pool and sunbeds cleaned daily. Since it is a shared pool area our children found new friends and that is always nice. Alfredo is a perfect host, kind and helpful. He left a welcoming package including recommendation for local restaurants which we found very helpful. Borgo Fajani has internet access and Alfredo was most helpful by lending out his laptop. The views are just spectacular from the house.
We can truly recommend this property to anybody wanting a relaxing holiday yet close to interesting towns

We returned to Borgo fajani for the wonderful views from all the windows and to meet with friends.
Spent most of our time relaxing round the pool - no need to go anywhere else! However we did visit Lucca, San Gimignano and Volterra. Our boys love going round these historic towns. Each evening in these towns we were surprised by bands providing live entertainment. Also booked a tour of the Uffizi inFlorence which is easily accessible from Pontedera.
We spent a wonderful evening enjoying a meal prepared by a local lady (just ask Alfredo for details) which was much cheaper than going out for a meal and I learned some typical Tuscan recipes to try at home!
There was a tourist map of short walks from Casanova so we walked to Morrona through the fields and had a drink at the local bar, and then to Salvetelle another day. Magnificent views wherever you look.
Alfredo has added internet access since our last visit and also loaned a laptop which was very useful. However as a source of local knowledge Alfredo is always very helpful.
The grounds and pool are well looked after. The flowers are beautiful and Alfredo even grows herbs for culinary use by guests.
Try the strawberry yoghurt, honey and organic cheeses from the farm shop. Also go to the local butcher for the most fabulous T-bone steaks to BBQ.

Holiday highlight with a warm and friendly host

Our stay in Casanova was one of the highlights of our 3.5 weeks in Italy. Alfredo is the most gracious and friendly host. Nothing was any trouble, at any time. His recommendations for day trips and local restuarants and produce were outstanding. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly farmers, the spectacular views, the inviting pool and the lovely, well-appointed villa.

We would recommend a stay to any of our friends travelling to Tuscany. They will be assured of a memorable holiday!!
