Expanded Cape with loads of charm and original detail, natural bright light and great floor plan. 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths with showers plus outside shower for total of 4 showers, two master bedrooms with queens, one upstairs and one downstairs for easy access and two additional bedrooms with 2 twins each, and futon in living room; upstairs laundry room with full size W/D for convenience, original hardwood floors throughout, wireless internet, 32' Samsung HDTV in living room, AC's, ceiling fans & flat panel TVs throughout bedrooms. Large front porch to kickback & relax, big driveway with basketball hoop can be used as play area or parking and garage for storage. Sleeps 8 comfortably and accommodates 10. THIS HOUSE IS LOCATED NEAR ONE OF THE HIGHEST POINTS ON THE ISLAND APPROX. ELEVATION +9. WATER NEVER REACHED THE HOUSE DURING SUPER STORM SANDY AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE. WE HAVE PICTURES TAKEN AFTER THE STORM AND THE HOUSE IS IN GREAT SHAPE FOR THE SUMMER!

Highlights: Updated large galley style kitchen with stainless appliances, original hard wood floors throughout most of house, upstairs master has berber carpeting, ceiling fans and window A/Cs throughout, wireless internet, living room with 32 inch Samsung TV, wireless Sony Blue Ray DVD player for streaming movies from the internet, bedrooms each have LCD flat screen TVs with cable. Garage is equipped with 6 beach chairs, 6 adult bikes a beach cart and a wagon to easily get all your stuff and to and from the beach. The beach is a short 5 minute walk up 1st street, pick from four great beaches at 1st Street, Stenton, St James or St Charles Place to hang at the beach. The Ocean City life guard Station with bathrooms is also located at the boardwalk and 1st which is an added benefit. The house includes 6 beach tags. After the beach, you can kick back on the porch and grill up a nice dinner on the retro style grill or head out to one of the local restaurants.

Location: Great location and you can walk or bike to most destinations within 5 minutes. The Boardwalk is at the end of 1st Street which is a short 5 minute walk. There are many other destinations in close proximity for eating out or if you have a simple grocery need. Some establishments in close proximity include the OC Island Grill and Berranato’s Deli both down the street at 1st and Atlantic, Brown's on the boardwalk at St. Charles, Cousins Restaurant and the old 4th Street Coffee Shop both at 1st and Asbury, TJ’s Ice Cream and Express Pizza at Atlantic and Battersea, Pessano’s 5 & dime at 3rd and Atlantic, Bakley’s Deli at 4th and Ocean and the Wonderland Rides on the Boardwalk at 5th Street. There are also great full service restaurants with bars in Somers Point which is a short drive north over the Long Port Bridge. Some favorites are the Anchorage, Bahia and Smitty's Clam Bar all on Bay Street in Somers Point; Clancy's and Back Bay BBQ on Maryland and the Windjammer on Rt 52. OC Island Grill sells fresh fish and meats that are great for grilling.

About Leslie and Kevin

My husband and I met in Hermosa Beach, California in the early 90's and lived there until 1998 before moving to Seattle, Washington. I'm from Reno, Nevada where we were married and I grew up on the north shore of Lake Tahoe in Tyrolean Village. My husband is from New Jersey and he grew up in Monmouth County. We have three children, our two older kids were born in California, one in Newport and one in Torrance and our youngest was born in Kirkland, Washington. We moved to northern New Jersey in 2001, we lived in Madison for a short period then moved to Chatham where we've lived since 2002.

Why Leslie and Kevin chose Boardwalk

We bought this house in 2005 after selling some investment property. We originally intended on buying the other house we own, listing 157515, but at the time this house was more attractive and we really loved the size of the house, the detached garage and the great neighborhood location. We've had a lot of great times in this house with family and friends over the years and love being there every summer.

What makes this house unique

This house is great, it's a nice size for two small families or one extended family. We've done many updates, but maintained a lot of the old charm of this house. It has a great layout and a very relaxing and comfortable environment, plus the large front porch provides a great meeting place for the family. During the days and nights we're down the shore, we spend a lot of time sitting on the porch, talking, reading and relaxing there The house has a nice driveway that can be used for parking up to 3 cars, a play area or staging area for your daily trips to the beach. It's in a great location, everything you need is a short walk or bike ride. If you want to leave the island for any reason for a day to play golf or go to dinner in AC, Cape May, Somers Point or Long Port, it's very easy from the Long Port Bridge at the north end or the 9th Street Causeway.

Great Family Vacation!

We spent a wonderful week in this charming home. It’s on a quiet street, yet close to everything. We parked our cars in the driveway when we arrived and didn’t need them until the day we left. It was a short walk or bike ride to everything we needed. The home is well appointed with everything we could possibly want and the beach tags, bikes, wagon, beach cart and many other extras were very welcome. Beds were comfortable and even with 4 adults and 4 children we never ran out of hot water. The kitchen is spacious with modern appliances and a joy to cook in. The front porch was a comfortable place to sit day or night. Leslie was wonderful to deal with. She was quick to answer the few questions we had. We all agreed that we were glad to have found this wonderful home and would be happy to stay here again.

We stayed at this beautiful home in Ocean City in 2006...it is now 2011...and, the dates we wanted are not available....

I hope the family that has rented it the week we wanted it in August, knows how lucky they are to have rented such a beautiful place...

My family always talks about this home that was "our home" for a week, years ago....

Hoping to rent it again in the near future!

We had a wonderful time at the house. It is comfortable and has driveway parking (a giant plus in OC). Our car's did not move all week, we used the bikes that the Pierce's have in the garage (Thank you).
It is only a couple minute walk to the beach and they do have the beach cart in the garage to make it easier to take all your stuff with you.
I would definitely recommend this house to anyone going to OC.
Just make sure you bring sheets, bath towels, beach towels & extra blankets.
Have a great time!! We did!

Perfect shore house for quiet nights

This is a great little house with all the amenities you need while on vacation with kids. The house was clean and the owners were a pleasure to deal with. It was a little farther away from the main attractions on the boardwalk, but that made for nice quiet nights. The front porch is just right for relaxing after the long day. Off street parking was extremely nice to have when unloading all the kids and gear. The only suggestion is that maybe the outdoor shower could use some privacy panels. We will definitely be looking at this house again next year.

Owner's Response: Great family resturants, ice cream, coffee, newspaper, deli and beach sundries shopping are a short one- or two-block walk. Wonderland rides are just close enough and a 10-15 minute walk or a very short bike ride. City zoning did not allow us to enclose the shower, so we are trying to figure out a way to improve the privacy of the shower for next year, and are considering putting up a nice circular curtain. In the meantime, please enjoy the shower, it's great to pop under and rinse off after the beach!
