This is the perfect, affordable, Maine vacation for a romantic couple or small family. Fresh and very cozy three room French country cottage, located on Hills Beach, with panoramic ocean views and only twenty-five steps to the beach. Our cottage is located in a quiet residential beach-front neighborhood - with wonderful ocean views that start right outside the front door, including views of classic rocky Maine coastline, lighthouse islands, and beyond. Our Hill's Beach is the warm water side of Biddeford and is very calm and shallow due to an abundance of sandbars - where you (and your kids) can collect sand-dollars at low tide!
The beach has soft sand and is bordered by stone jetties. It's a clean, family beach that is naturally groomed and lives up to its reputation as a great place to be on a hot summer's day!
Please note that the maximum allowable occupancy is three (3) persons.
Overnight guests, pets of any size, and smoking indoors are not allowed.
Maine is famous for its water sports, particularly kayaking. As good luck would have it... right outside our door is Hills Beach, a popular launching spot for some of the best kayaking in the area. Shallow waters, access to the Saco river, Lighthouse Islands, basking seals, and rocky coastline all combine to provide fantastic afternoons of leisurely paddling and exploring. Bring your own kayak or rent them locally.
Lobster & Seafood: Maine is famous for its lobster and seafood. You can get fresh and succulent lobster and seafood at six different locations all within five minutes driving time. So forget Domino's! Lobster is so popular on Hills Beach that you can even have live or cooked lobster delivered right to your door!
Historic Maine, Artistic Maine: Rainy day? No problem! In Maine there's lots to do and see. For example, Maine was one of the first-settled areas of the country and one of the oldest states in the Union. Maine, like other New England states, is the birthplace of American Antiques. As a result, in Maine there are more antique shops per square mile than in any other state. Whether you're a casual shopper or serious collector, chances are excellent that you'll discover what you're looking for... or you may just stumble upon something that everyone else missed! Other Maine attractions are also rich in history and include museums, military forts, galleries, and town-sponsored cultural events. Not to mention the famous shopping outlets... And all of these are within easy driving distance from our cottage.
Are you an artist? The ever-changing tides and sky cast an infinite variety of light and shadows on the natural beauty that surrounds you... guaranteed to inspire and challenge you! Set up your easel right in the yard!
