Upon our arrival, we were not only pleased, but blown away, this is a house not a cottage, with everything and more that you could possibly need. So homey and welcoming with the addition of this amazing gazebo the likes we have never seen! Magnificent views of the Bras d’Or lakes through 14 huge windows. We enjoyed breakfast out there every day, no matter on the weather, just sitting there taking it all in made it difficult to leave. We enjoyed daily visits from Humming Birds, King fisher, Canada geese so low we could see their feathers, and of course the magnificent Eagles! All this on a well kept property and water front, with a canoe and pdfs provided. Once we did hit the road, we found we were within reasonable driving distance to everything we needed. Port Hawksburry 20 min drive, with everything from Tim Hortons to WalMart. Port Hood Beach with it’s warm waters (stop at Seandeannes for breakfast, they serve a dressing that I have dreams about and their homemade bread!!) and Inverness were our favorite beaches, although Kenington gave us the thrill of a lifetime bodysurfing on prehuricane waves that were awesome!! Make sure to put aside a full day, wearing comfy clothes and shoes to visit the Louisbourg Fort, a stop at the Lobster Kettle for supper on their deck cannot be missed. The crab is to die for. On your way to the cabot trail, make sure to get out at the ferry in Englishtown and talk to some of the locals fishing and take in the beauty and starfish. You may want to return to this area on a seperate occasion to take in Donaldas puffin boat tour (well worth the money, we saw eagles, dolphins, seals, and gourgeous coastline) and to visit artisan alley, have a scrumptious lunch at the Clucking Hen, make sure to take some of their homemade treats along for the drive of a lifetime along the Cabot trail. Alexander Graham Bell museum was well worth a look on a rainy day, incredible what we don’t know about our own history, very interesting on many levels. We were also surprised by the interactive Gaelic village in Iona. The Red Shoes in Mabou goes without saying, great food and cold beverages, with ceilidhs every night.
We feel very priveledged to have stayed at Three Waters Villa and plan on returning, if you are looking for THE perfect place, look no more!!!

Fantastic weather! Rained Wed. only, otherwise 70's. Saw at least 2 bald eagles per day, except on Friday - and that day we saw 2 moose up at the highlands park. Saw bald eagle several times from the living room; also hummingbirds and goldfinches. Canoed a couple of days, and spent 1 day in sydney. Also went down to Arichat on Isle Madame. Drove through the highlands park on Monday (whole thing) and hiked 10 miles on Friday. Very tired, but very happy!
