This apartment was everything that was promised in the description and more. Our party of 4 stayed here for 10 days and all agreed that we had secured the ideal property for our trip to Barcelona.. The beautifully decorated apartment was located in a neighborhood so we could really feel a part of the life in Barcelona. Everything was within walking distance, restaurants and cafes, drugstores and hair salons, wonderful shopping and many of the historic sights of the city; but if you had to leave the area, a metro stop was only a couple blocks away. The management was outstanding and were easily reached to provide the answers to the multitudes of questions we asked. We would recommend this apartment to our most discriminating friends and family members. We would feel lucky to stay here again when we return.

My husband and another couple stayed at 21 Merce and loved our experience. There were no surprises during our stay; the listing was exact in its description and the owners very helpful answering questions prior to our visit. The apartment is equipped with all the amenities that made apartment living very comfortable. We did all the great tourist attractions and found several hidden gems. The location was perfect for this as well as feeling like we were part of the Barcelona experience. We recommend Le Salon which became a favorite restaurant right around the corner. The wine in the small grocery stores in the neighborhood are great and very inexpensive. We feel the price of the apartment was equal to our expectations and we highly recommend this listing.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this property. From the thorough booking and checkin process to the outstanding logistical information provided by the owners, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location is ideal to access all the important areas of the city. We were amazed at the number of outstanding restaurants nearby and access to the beaches and ideal jogging routes is perfect. The apartment was ideal for 6 adults with all of the important amenities, including laundry facilities and a fully functional kitchen which we used often. There is an incredible wine shop named Vila Vini Teca a short walk from the apartment with a gentleman named Guillem who was incredibly knowledgeable in local wines and spoke English which was very important to us.
We highly recommend this location and will definitely consider it as our first choice for any future visits to Barcelona.

We enjoyed our stay at Merce 21. The location couldn't have been better. Even though the street had many lively bars on it, we found the apt. to be quiet for sleeping and lively for sitting on the balony enjoying a glass of wine. The apt. was clean and easy to use. The washer and dryer were convenient. We would definitely recommend the apt. to friends and .

What a wonderful place to stay in Barcelona,location is perfect for exploring the old town,finding restaurants, and visiting local markets. The apartment is most comfortable with air conditioning,a lift,up to date kitchen, and a washer and drier We had a minor problem with the phone which the owner was most helpful in fixing.. Would like to return next year. and would recommend this apartment for everyone.

The listing description was accurate, as were the photos. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful when I was trying to rent the apartment and supplied all the information one might need for use of the apartment and getting around the area and Barcelona.

My family of 5 loved the apartment! So close to the beach, Gothic District, Born, etc. It was wonderful to have a home so close to all the sights. We walked for coffee in the mornings and brought our lunch home in the afternoons. The furnishings, decor, kitchen, bedding, and bathrooms were the best we have experienced in our 11 month stay in Europe.

We stayed in Barcelona for 4 days prior to a business trip in London. 3 girls. Merce 21 was a fantastic find on a quiet street yet a great location in the city. We walked everywhere from here and always felt safe in the neighborhood. The apartment was fabulous, much like being in a home. Very spacious living and dining room, well equipped kitchen as well. Small balcony overlooking the street. 1 large bedroom and 2 small ones. I master bath and a smaller one as well. All very comfortable, clean. Added bonus is washer and dryer! Apt had many maps and guidebooks on Barcelona that we used. Rita was very pleasant to deal with while booking and her local girl very responsive when we arrived and were ready to check out. A welcome bottle of wine was a fabulous way to start the trip. Thanks for a great stay!

We only stayed four nights in this apartment but wished we had more time. From the greeting at arrival with a bottle of wine until the very end, everything we needed was provided. The location is wonderful, right near the port and La Rambla and walking distance to many sites. Anywhere not walkable is easy to get to by the Metro which is a block away. The kitchen is well-stocked but there are so many good restaurants around (and La Boqueria!) that we never ate in. The master bedroom and bath is very nice and spacious. The third bedroom with the twin bed is a little cave-like but for just sleeping there it's fine. And all of the bedrooms are nice and dark if you do desire to sleep in. The nights are noisy as some reviewers said, but it never bothered us and added to the fun of the neighborhood. Rita left a nice guide to restaurants and attractions which was useful. If we make it back to Barcelona we will definitely book this apartment again. Thanks Rita!

We preferred to be walking distance to everything rather than in a more residential part of the city. Most of our guests keep Spanish hours, which means they are out enjoying the neighbourhood and are rarely disturbed by the general hubbub of the Gothic Quarter. You are right about the single bedroom. I am going to give it a face lift and next time you come I hope it will seem more spacious.

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks in this gorgeous apartment in October of 2011. Our son is studying in Barcelona and this gave us the opportunity to take the entire family to Spain.
The location of the apartment is perfect and the best in Barcelona. It is on a quiet, pedestrian only street. Nearby are fabulous tapas restaurants, bottle shops, and some of the best grocery shops and markets Barcelona has to offer. The expansive beach and most of the famous attractions are only a short walk away.
The apartment itself is even larger and more spacious than shown on the website. There is a wonderful attention to detail, a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances, beautiful ceramic tiles, classy carpets and hardwood floors. The bathroom even has towel warmers. The beds, pillows and sheets are very comfortable. The window shutters make the rooms really dark and extremely quiet, ideal for sleeping. There is plenty of closet space. The dining room table was big enough to comfortably accommodate 8 people, my family and friends of my son’s for dinners. The sofa and love seat in the living room are extremely comfortable and spacious. The internet worked well and is fast. We were too busy sightseeing to ever turn on the cable TV. An added benefit was the elevator, much appreciated by my 80 year old father.
We highly recommend this apartment to anyone planning to spend time in exciting and vivacious Barcelona.
