Kalam - The Plantation House is Registered with the Kerala Tourist Board as a Platinum Home Stay which is the highest grading awarded to Home Stays in India. The property lends itself to larger group holidays and possibly Corporate holidays who are looking for the exclusivety of a large country house with pool and gym and a tropical and landscaped fruit garden all to themselves. Added to this is the flexibility we can offer for interchanges at no extra cost for those groups wanting longer holidays where parts of the group can come and go over extended periods of time.

I am a retired Consultant Histopathologist living with my partner a retired Army Officer in the UK. I was educated privately in India, and qualified MBBS there. Then I did a Short Service Commission in the Indian Army as a Doctor before coming to the UK for my specialist training and where I have stayed ever since.
The both of us just fell in love with the beauty of the place. It has a magical charm - the house faces east and the morning sun slowly rising above the tree line provides an ambience which once experienced can never be forgotten. Likewise in the evenings with the sun going down - the birds coming for their welcome drink in a waterfall we have created - dusk brings another special ambience of stillness as one enjoys an evening drink by the poolside.
The house is over a 100 years old - beautifully restored and maintained, occasionally visited by its previous owners - their mango tree is still bearing fruit in the garden, Brahmas house and its stones are still where they were built and where the oil lamps glow each week - put there by our staff. The hens patrol the grounds with a couple of guineas.
The house overlooks the paddyfields and forest area. We have a high viewing area known as the Paddypura - (gateway to the paddyfields) - beautiful valley scenery. Very good security at the House and garden supervised by Staff.
Great for walking and photography and enjoying each others company in a very private garden setting with a pool on your doorstep to use whenever you want to - even night time when it is lit is also great fun.
