This beautiful 3 bedroom/2.5 Bath home is nestled on the Mountain hillside overlooking Ojochal, with stunning views of the river mouth and the Pacific ocean.
'Estilo de Vida' ('The Style of Life') is available for short-term and long-term rental.
The property offers a private pool with complete privacy due to the secluded nature of the property. The temperature of the pool is a wonderful 86 degrees all year around. Located at an altitude of 700 feet above Sea level the property avoids the problem of pesky mosquitoes.
Each bedroom has a walk-in closet and the Master Bedroom is air-conditioned. Free wireless internet is available throughout the house.

Enjoyable Stay at Estilo de Vida
Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed for 5 nights at Estilo de Vida. We really enjoyed the home and property. The house was extremely clean and well maintained.
The kitchen had everything you need for a long stay. Plenty of pots and pans, cooking utensils, etc. The large stainless steal refrigerator had an automatic ice and water dispenser (crushed was great for making frozen drinks with the blender!) was great.
The beds were very comfortable. It was nice to be able to run the A/C in the master bedroom at night. The other 2 bedrooms did not have A/C, but were equipped with fans. It may have been hot for me, but my 6 year old did not complain. During the day we kept the house comfortable running the fans and keeping the windows and doors open. It wasnt too hot at all. The master bath is amazing! A giant open shower with rain head and even a tub, which is a rarity in Costa Rica. There is another half bath downstairs and a full bath up. We all just used the master, since it was so nice.
We spent most of our time in the outdoor space. The pool is large and very deep. The jacuzzi tub is only cold water, but that is really all you want in the jungle heat. We made use of the gas grill to cook some great fresh snapper we picked up at a local fish market. You have a nice ocean and river view from the jacuzzi. We also saw a wide variety of birds and animals without leaving the property. Toucans were daily visitors, as was a coati and morpho butterflies. We heard howler monkeys every day, and did catch a glimpse of them. The house truly is right the middle of the jungle! Biting insects were not bad at the house, I assume due to the altitude. Down by the beach the heat and insects are much worse. Now, there are insects, this is the jungle after all, just not the biting type. We kept the doors closed at night to keep them out of the house. The home is completely private and up a long driveway
My only criticisms would be that the house is very sparsely furnished. It worked for us with two young children (less to worry about), but some may find it a bit sterile. No artwork, decorative items, the dining table was a patio set, no coffee table. It would also be nice to provide a binder with area information, provide candles and flashlights in case of power outage (we had one for a few hours). These are small things, but could make a difference for guests.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in the future!

Estilo de Vida
The view from the house was spectacular. We saw a troop of monkeys moving through the trees. The kids loved the pool. The house was clean. It is important to note that there is no air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms. We were all comfortable staying in the master bedroom. We loved going to the nearby beaches, waterfalls, and horseback riding. We would definitely recommend this property to a friend.

My wife and I Stayed at Estillo de Vida 2/28/13- 3/06/13. This was our second year in a row there,and we thoroughly enjoyed or stay again. The house is private but open and spacious and not difficult to get to.It is meticulously maintained and very well designed to take advantage of all the natural beauty and wildlife. It is a very reasonable distance from beaches,restaurants,grocery,golf,banks,etc... All in all a great place to get away to for any reason. Not only would I recommend this property,I have recommended this property to family and friends.

You are in the jungle!
We really enjoyed are stay at Estilo de Vida. You are literally right in the jungle. The home is nice, and the pool is excellent. We saw many toucans, monkeys (howler and white-faced), blue Morphos, etc.) The view is amazing, and my favorite beach, Playa Ventanas, is very close. There are also some great little restaurants nearby in Ojochal.
Note: you do need 4WD to get up to the house.

Christmas in paradise!
We spent 2 wonderful weeks with our 2 teenager sons in this property and enjoyed every moment. The boys were happy spending hours on the upper balcony with the available wifi...We were surrounded by different birds and animals, a joy for everyday! With all the noise from the jungle we just felt like being in Jurassic Park without being scared!! Every morning we saw a large blue butterfly flying around the property only once and he was gone...In addition, many activities are available around the house as well as many good restaurants and markets to buy the foods. it is necessary to have a 4-wheel drive car to reach the property located up in the hills. this location is great to enjoy the view but also a fresher temperature. Around 24-25 degrees most of the days with a light wind...just perfect!

Only the top side of the wings is blue so if it stops on a branch you see only the plain brown of the underside of the wing making it difficult to spot. They are easy to observe but a challenge to film or photograph.

Estilo de Vida is a very good place to stay
We stayed in Estilo de Vida for a fifth time in about four years. First time we were just two of us. Last time we stayed with out two children!
About the house: a great house, with thee bedrooms, a great view, a perfect pool (also for children) and a livingroom with space to move around and relax. The garden has a great feature; in the afternoon you can see the Tucans fly in and in the early morning and in the afternoon howler monkeys can be seen and be heard.
The area: for beach lovers, Playa Ballena is a nice area to go the beach. Sandy quiet beaches which can Either be entered from the national park entry or you can co two the Ventanas beach, with beautiful caves to look into
Restaurants: if you like going out for dinner, in Ojochal their are some nice restaurants to chooce from. My favourite was Ilang Ilang (Indonesian cuisine), but their are more places to choice from.
Other: make sure you drive a 4x4. Getting up the mountain to the house needs it. Also, you are in Costa Rica in a non-urban environment. That means that at occasions you could lose electric power for a short time. We always found some candels in the house, but just bring some or buy some on your way in THE supermarket in Uvita.
We always enjoyed our holdings in Estilo de Vida. I hope my comments help you make up your mind.

Enjoyed the Wildlife Show!
Wonderful views, privacy, and best of all, a family of howler monkeys who came down to feed in the trees next to the house. We also saw toucans and spider monkeys while we relaxed by the pool. Estilo de Vidal is in a great location to enjoy the area of Ojochal. We had a memorable week.

We just returned from spending 4 wonderful weeks at Estilo de Vida. The casa is completely private, surrounded by rainforest, with a lovely view of the ocean and also the mountains. The house itself is quite attractive and we felt very secure there. We were glad to have the free wifi service to keep in touch with family. On our arrival, we were greeted by flocks of parrots, the toucans, and of course howler monkeys...the next day white-faced monkeys paid a visit. Our day usually started, a cup of fresh Costa Rican coffee in hand, by the pool, listening to the dozens of bird calls and watching the gorgeous Morpho butterfly float past. We saw trogons, aracaris, euphonias, honeycreepers and many more beautiful birds right on the property. Being lovers of nature we spent the four weeks soaking up the surrounding natural beauty. We visited several beaches nearby and also a couple of refreshing waterfalls. There are about a dozen first-class restaurants within a 15 min drive.
If you are looking for privacy surrounded by natural beauty with easy access to nearby beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. then we would highly recommend Estilo de Vida.
