FAQ 1 (Frequently Asked Questions) : Is there laundry facilities?

No, you will need to go out in town to do laundry. There are two laundromats within 20 minutes from the cottage.

Is there phone service?

Verizon cellphone coverage is poor. There is a house phone available for guest. Local calls are free. Bring a calling card for regional and long distance calls. The cottage phone number will be provided to you once you sign the rental agreement.

Are there beach chairs?

A few old beach chairs are in the cottage. Bring your own if you are particular. The beach chairs are useful for sitting on the dock or at the sandy beach.

How is the swimming?

The name of the lake says it all, Crystal Lake. The water is comfortable July-September. A sandy beach is close to the cottage and is good for children. The dock, a short 100 steps from the cottage, is great for swimming too. The lake is a mixture of gravel and sand near the dock. Bring water socks if you have sensitive feet.

FAQ 2 (Frequently Asked Questions) : How big is the dock?

The dock is about 15 feet long. It is suitable for boats up to the size of a small motor boat. Larger boats may be able to be moored a few yards off shore. The water gets to a depth of 6 to 10 ft in about 30 feet off shore.

Is there a boat launch?

There is a public boat launch less than a mile up the road. Short of slipping the boat in the water next to the cottage, this launch spot is very convenient.

Wonderful Stay on Crystal Lake

My family (husband, infant and 3 dogs) and I needed a place to stay while waiting for our house to close. Robert was very accomodating and responsive and helped us get into the rental quickly.

Crystal Lake is lovely as is the cottage. Three nice size bedrooms, small but functional kitchen. We only used one of the beds and it was very comfortable. Due to a nice warm snap we were able to open the windows and spend time on the enclosed porch. There's a wonderful breeze from the lake and with the ceiling fan running we didnt even miss having AC.

Restful, Peaceful, Great Vacation

What a great week we had at this cottage. We were in the Lake just about everyday, the water was absolutely beautiful. It was like we had the lake all to ourselves. We cook on the BBQ everynight and just enjoyed being at the cottage. On a couple of days went hiking at near by trials that had awesome views. Visited the town of Meredith for a little shopping at the shops. There is alot to do around the area if you felt like going out and it was so quiet if you felt like just enjoying being there. The cottage itself was so clean, comfy and cozy. The nights were cool and the sunsets were really something to see. I would go back here in a heartbeat!! When planning my next vacation I would love to stay here more than just a week. There were six of us my husband and myself, my daughter and her boyfriend, and my brother and his girlfriend and truly enjoyed ourselves!!!! We also brought our little Yorkie and he enjoyed it just as much.

We went with another couple in early June and it was just the perfect place for us to relax and get reacquainted with nature in a beatiful, quiet setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life that we're normally used to. We enjoyed pretty much everyhig from boating to playing tennis to just hanging out on the beach. While we didn't find the need or desire to leave the property much (except for food shopping), it was also attractive that the location is central to many points of interest including the speedway, outlet shopping, Gunstock and more. Sometimes the perfect vacation is doing nothing but knowing that you CAN go somewhere if you start getting bored is just perfect. All in all, a great trip and we're looking forward to coming back next year.

Lovely Cottage

This is a beautiful cottage with all the amenities. Everything was clean and the cottage was fully equipped (especially the kitchen which had everything you could imagine). It was very secluded, cozy and bright with many skylights (one in every bedroom) and it is just steps from the lake.

Everything was professionally managed from arrival to departure and all questions were answered promptly.
