Beautiful Beach Home!

My family stayed at Dream's End during the week of June 12-19th, 2010. What a lovely house! It has all the amenities anyone could need or want. We had six adults in our group but the house is wonderfully equipped for children as well. What’s not to love about this place? The furnishings are tasteful and comfy. The kitchen is perfectly outfitted for feasts of any kind. From a home cooked turkey dinner to a seafood extravaganza or grilling out, anything we needed to prepare these meals was at our fingertips. With so many master suites and bathrooms everyone had their personal space. All the TV’s, a computer, wifi, books, puzzles, and games provided access to entertainment.
But that’s just inside the house…let’s talk about the outside. When choosing an oceanfront house, one is very concerned about ocean views and sometimes the pictures on a website can be misleading. Not so with Dream’s End. There are unobstructed views of the ocean from the top decks. There is plenty of seating for enjoying the ocean views, a nice hammock for reading and lounging and a couple picnic tables (poolside and off the kitchen) for outdoor dining. The pool is small but provided cool refreshment on a couple of our 90 degree plus days. The beach is merely steps away and was not crowded at all while we were there. There is beach equipment for your use such as chairs, sand toys, swimming boards etc. However, we could not find a beach umbrella so you may need to bring one. The beach and the ocean are the focal points of this house. I would rise to see beautiful sunrises across the ocean and view spectacular sunsets from the back deck at night.
We had horses all around several times during the week- in the backyard and in the side yard. We saw dolphins from the front deck. Pelicans fishing in the waters and sandpipers skipping across the beach.
This was a most relaxing vacation. We went into Corolla (a drive of about a 3 ½ miles on the beach) several times during the week so family members could shop, jet ski, and parasail. One word of caution- do heed the advice to take tire pressure down on your four wheel drive vehicle. One family member found out the hard way by having to be towed (an expense mistake).
I came away with not only pails of seashells but with a trove of special vacation memories thanks in part to our wonderful accommodations at Dream’s End. Thanks for making our vacation one we will always treasure. We hope to be back again someday…
