Perfect VT Getaway

Great time in VT Montgomery
Review Submitted: August 12, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
As other reviewers have said Pictures do not do it justice. The home is immaculate inside and out! What sets this home apart from all the rest are all the small unexpected extras and surprises. We found all furniture and beds to be very comfortable with plenty of linens, towels, and toiletries. The kitchen has everything you need. The grounds are beautiful, which can be viewed from the screened-in porch, very special.

The pond and fishing were great! The kids had the best time fishing from the dock. An early morning canoe ride or fishing from the aluminum boat on a calm morning is the perfect way to start your day! Paddles, life preservers everything you need is there.

Horse Show Getaway

Review Submitted: July 22, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Finally a rental as clean as my own home! The cottage was a perfect place to relax in the beauty of VT but still be close enough to get to the VT Summer Festival Horse Shows, the event that brought us to the area. A welcome change from the usual Horse Show hotel with all the ameneties of home - and more!

Our Favorite Place To Stay

Carl & Barbara Union, NJ
Review Submitted: April 4, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We have stayed at the log home in Danby at least 5 times now. It's the perfect place in the perfect location in any season. Whether you are looking for a base for exploration, or just looking for a spot to relax and unwind in perfect solitude, this place fits the bill.

The photos on the web site are very nice, but they don't fully convey the warmth and beauty you'll experience once you arrive. The house has everything you could possibly need and the property makes you feel like you're in you own private park. Just ask the dogs! They love going for walks and swimming in the pond.

The owners are fantastic and make you feel like their home is really yours.

We love it here and will continue to visit as often as possible. It's our favorite place to stay.

Truth in Advertising - A Hidden Gem

For the money our stay at "Windy Meadow" was one of the most relaxing and romantic weekends my wife and I have had in a while. The place was immaculate, super clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. If you are looking to "get away" to a real Vermont country place, this offers privacy and enjoyment you won't find at a lot of 4 star Inns.

Cozy, Charming and Conveniet! Perfect Getaway!

Christopher & Kristina New York, New York
Review Submitted: January 20, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
We just got back from an extremely relaxing stay at the cabin. Everything exceeded our expectations--from thoughtfulness of the owner, to the charm of the cabin on the outside, to the comfortable, cozy and well appointed decor on the inside. The amenities were fabulous--the beds and couches were very comfortable, and we were able to cook for ourselves the enitre weekend and relax at night with a nice glass of wine by the fireplace. We antiqued and explored Danby and then skiied Bromely, which was only 35 minutes away; Manchester was great as well. It was a well needed reprive from the city---we're definately planning to visit again!

wonderful winter retreat

This cozy (but not small) log home was in excellent condition with comfortable sofas and beds. The pictures on the site were accurate and the tasteful decor made you feel like you were at nice lodge. Because this is the renters home, not just a rental property, there were basics like oil, salt and pepper already there which made it much easier since those kind of things you often forget to buy/bring. My kids loved having games like Scrabble and Monopoly available. My 13 year old loved the wireless internet so she could IM her friends. My 10 year old loved having Direct TV. We loved having three bedrooms so everyone could have there own space. There was lots of room to play in the snow and a beautiful view of the lake. We had planned on going to Bromley to ski, but we were so content we ended up staying in the house, playing in the snow and cooking at home each night. The location felt remote with winding mountain roads but shopping in Manchester was about 20 minutes away where there were outlets and restaurants as well as a Price Chopper and Shaws. Jeanne was very accessible if we needed anything. We'd definitely return!

This home CLEAN and beautiful. I do not hesitate to use the word PERFECT. This is exactly what we needed for a VT getaway, relax enjoy and peaceful. Close enough to Manchester and the Dorest Quarry but away from it all.
