Great Condo! Great Location!
Condo was cozy, very clean, and so thoughtfully equipped with absolutely everything our family needed, down to a shopper's discount card to the local grocery stores. Tons of extra towels, which came in handy on our whitewater rafting trip! Our daughters loved using a Belgian waffle maker & George Foreman grill for the first time, examples of things we had access to in the very well-equipped kitchen. Beds were very comfortable, too.Owners provided a binder stuffed with information on area points of interest, which we found really useful as this was our first time visiting Colorado. Very quiet, peacefully secluded location, yet literally a few minutes walk from the center of town. We thought it was extremely reasonably priced, as well. Enjoyed one of our best vacations ever, due in part to having such a comfortable, pleasant "home" to return to after each day's adventures! RECOMMEND VERY HIGHLY, and hope to stay here again in the future. As for things we enjoyed in the area, highlights were driving, hiking & rock climbing in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park (we especially enjoyed the Alluvial Fan waterfall area), horseback riding (Sombrero Ranch in Grand Lake) and whitewater rafting (had a great experience with Adventures in Whitewater in Kremmling, and have heard that AVA is also very good). Took a free chairlift ride (free Fri-Sun in the summer) at Granby Ranch. Stephen King fans in our family enjoyed the (not TOO scary) Ghost Tour at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park... they offer a Ghost Hunt at night, too, for those brave enough. The View restaurant in Estes Park is also a delight (it's located at the Crags Lodge). Deno's Restaurant, an easy walk from the condo, had fantastic steak, and friendly service! Loved Mt. Evans in Idaho Springs so much we drove out there twice. Heaven for rock-climbers! First-timers like us must be prepared, though, for the white-knuckle driving on Trail Ridge Road & at Mt. Evans... many blind curves, and no guard rails! It was extra-treacherous on the weekend, when bikers were EVERYWHERE on Mt. Evans' road & we had to keep swerving around them at 14,000 feet! Not for the faint-hearted, but SO worth it when you reach those breathtaking summits. We'll be talking about this trip for years to come, & hope to return to Winter Park for further adventures... and will certainly plan to return to this terrific condo!
