Great vacation home

Review Submitted: July 28, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Our family really enjoyed this Newfound Lake home. The house was spacious enough for 8 adults and 2 kids. It is very close to the beach, very clean and comfortable for the whole family.

This house is way better than it looks on these pictures. We arrived to a large spotless house with everything we could ever need at our disposal.

From the grill and firewood to area guides and recommendations, the owner of the house made us feel right at home.

We would stay here again in a minute and would recommend this house to anyone that needs a place to stay in the Newfound Lake area.
Owner's Response: This group came up in June for the annual Mooseman Triathalon on Newfound Lake. They ran, swam and biked all weekend, but still found time to sit on the deck, explore the local area and enjoy some time at the beach. They certainly made the most of their time at the lake.

Great time.

That vacation house is beautiful. I can't tell you how much fun our kids had sprinting back and forth across the pergo floor all weekend long. They loved rock hunting on the beach and playing with the running streams. It's on such a nice piece of land and has a great view. We were definitely impressed with it, because it's just so layed back and comfortable. We want to stay there again in the summer so we can get out on the water.

We did the following:
Ragged Mtn. Ski lessons for the kids and I got a few runs in as well.
Children's Museum in Meredith (rainy day - and the kids loved it)
Japanese Steak House.
Rock Collecting on the beach (my son collects rocks - it's his thing).
Discussed politics and conspiracy theory at length over cocktails each night with the adults.
Chocolate chip pancakes each morning.
Nice relaxing weekend.
Owner's Response: These two families came up to enjoy some spring skiing and to get some relaxation. It looks like they were able to accomplish both goals. They even made the most of a rainy day with a trip to a museum and dinner at the Japanese Steak House that is less than 5 minutes away by car. The house is certainly private with lots of trees and the lake just steps away, but we are close to so many wonderful restaurants and attractions too. The Newfound Lake area makes it easy to accomodate all types: those that want to relax, those that want dining and sight seeing and those that want skiing, boating and adventure!

Perfect Spot

Rented this property for a weekend in early June. It was fantastic! The house was exactly as advertised. We had 10 adults and everyone fit comfortably. Loved the double kitchen! Lots of room to eat and socialize. We enjoyed a grilled dinner out on the porch with a view to the lake. Took advantage of the lake for swimming- great fun! It was a nice secluded neighborhood but easy access to the stores and restaurants. Great service with the owner- Melissa called to check in and make sure everything was okay, and provided us with tons of information about the area.
Owner's Response: This group came up to Newfound Lake for the Mooseman Triathalon Weekend that is held every year in June. There are many great events year round at the lake and so many different things to do. Newfound Lake is a great place to vacation anytime of year!

FUN IN THE SNOW

DJ Family Florida
Review Submitted: January 7, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2007
We just finished a winter vacation in New Hampshire at this location and had a wonderful time with our family playing in the snow! We found the home to be pretty much as we pictured it to be...It was clean and neat with all of the amenities to accomodate our family of 10 (8 adults and 3 teenagers).

The home has a wood stove that sits on a hearth facing the living room so we built fires just about every night. We found wood available on Rte. 104 on one of our trips to Meredith. The "2" kitchen arrangements gave us ample room to seat everyone at meal times and there was plenty of silverware, dishes, glasses, cups and cookware. We could have used a large crookpot but made do with what was there. The 5 bedrooms gave us all our privacy.

We were pleased to find about 2-1/2 feet of snow already accumulated on the property when we got there...our Grandson was offered a snow shovel and he went to work making sled sliding trails, forts, snowmen, angels, etc....Well, you get the picture! By the time our Granddaughters arrived he was ready for snowball fights! They all spent many hours right there playing in the snow.

We chose this property because it was pretty much centrally located for the activities we wanted to do and the places we wanted to visit. We were able to take the Sleigh Ride in Campton as mentioned in the packet as well as visiting the Annalee Outlet in Meredith, Tubing at Gunstock in Gilford, The Old Country Store in Moultonborough, The Santa Train in North Conway, Snomobiling in North Conway and Freyburg, Maine just to name a few.

The Super Walmart in Plymouth served as a great place to get the essentials that we needed to spend the week, such as paper products that are mentioned in the packet as well as backup lunches and occasional dinners if we were home.

George's Seafood and BBQ Restaurant just East of the Super Walmart turned out to be a great place to eat. They readily accepted 10 of us without a reservation and the seafood was especially fresh and well prepared. Their prices were reasonable and we ate two evening meals there. Of course Hart's Turkey Farm in Meredith was another of our visits.

All in all we had a Great Christmas Vacation week...we think it would be a good spot for a future trip in the summer.
Owner's Response: This family definitely made the most of their vacation with all their daytrips and activities. They even had some good suggestions like the need for a crockpot. We have added one to the home. Come see and enjoy the winter fun that this group experienced!

We had 12 people (6 adults, 6 kids) and there was plenty of room for everyone. Newfound Lake is beautiful & everyone enjoyed the beach located just across the street. Home is located on a very peaceful dirt road so we had no concerns about traffic with all the kids. The house is extremely clean and well-kept. We would definitely rent again!

Great family house

This house was exactly what we were looking for. We had 3 families - for a total of 6 adults and 6 kids - and we wanted a house that would fit all of us comfortably, without costing a fortune. The house is extremely well kept us and located on a quiet dirt road. It is not right on the water but is only a few hundred yards away. That was actually just right for us as we have small children and would have been worried about a house that was directly on the water.

Newfound Lake is even more beautiful than described.
The water is fairly warm and extremely clean. There is a small beach, dock (our 3 year old loved jumping off the dock!), and storage area for a canoe/kayak.

There are lots of other things to do in the area. We went to the Polar Caves (a little hokey but the kids enjoyed it) and one of the families with older kids also did some hiking. We didn't visit Storyland this time as we had been there a few weeks before, but that would have been a good day trip.

Overall, we loved the house and can't wait to go back.

Our family loved this vacation home!! The listing reflected exactly what we got when we arrived, a clean, large home near a quiet beach! Every aspect of this experience was professional and so easy to work with. We hope to stay there again next summer!
