About Katie Fagan

Our descendants all come from Cape Breton and moved to Halifax and Boston in the early 1900's but Cape Breton is where our heart's are. Three generations of family come back each year to this very special part of the world that is so beautiful and a respite from the heat and pace of city life.

Katie Fagan purchased this cottage in 1968
Why Katie Fagan chose Baddeck

Our parents were avid sailors and The Brasdor lakes provide some of the best saling in the world. Our property is right on the water with spectacular views so they fell in love with the property on their cruises throughout the lakes back in the 50's.

What makes this cottage unique

This a two hundred acre property with three cottages. The main house offers a great family gathering place and the additional cottages offer great privacy. There is a brand new expansive deck that is wonderful for taking in the spectacular views and reading books.

Our summer dream vacation!

Submitted: November 3, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
Our family stayed at this property last summer, and though we are very
familiar with this part of Cape Breton, the house and surrounding land,
views and access to the water gave us a whole new appreciation of how
beautiful and peaceful the Bras Lakes are. The cottages are cosy, very
comfortable, tasteful and welcoming; the deck is fantastic on a hot summer
day just to laze around on. We had a fantastic holiday and this was very
much a result of staying at this beautiful property!

Favorite Vacation

Submitted: November 4, 2011 Stayed: August 2011
Our family of five had one of our most favorite vacations ever in this magical spot. It is hard to not just stand and stare at the gorgeous view, and each of the houses is charming, updated and comfortable. The property is well-situated for all the compelling sight-seeing this beautiful area offers, at the same time providing the kind of privacy and expanse that is rare to find in a rental. Property owners are extremely gracious and accommodating...we loved being here and can't recommend this special place more highly.
