My wife and 17 yr old son had a wonderful time staying at Karen's cottage. The beach just down the street was beautiful, and the location is close to the middle of the island, and convienant to many points of interest. We rented electric bikes and toured the island and bird sanctuary, and enjoyed the downtown Newburyport Memorial Day festival. There are many good restaurants in the area, including Mad Martha's for breakfast and the Grog House in Newburyport for dinner.

Karen's cottage is clean and quaint, and everything is provided for a reasonable fee. She is one of the few that will rent for as short as a 3 day stay, which makes this a good choice for a long weekend without breaking the budget!

My parents and my husband and I just returned from a week at Karen's cottage. We had a wonderful time and the house was more than we were hoping for! The living space is very comfortable and Karen even took the time to get the AC running before we got there (one of of the hottest days of summer). The deck and outdoor patio table were great for evenings at home and the location cannot be beat! Walks to be beach take about 2 minutes. The washer and dryer were a nice touch since we weren't used to having those on vacation. The kitchen had every amenity you could think of. We hope to make it back next year! Thanks Karen for a great stay:)

We found this online and in this day and age I had my qualms. I sent Karen many emails to ask questions about the cottage and decided to rent. Her payment terms were reasonable and the price is fair price for the area and the house. Having the bedding and towels provided was a great help in eliminating all that extra packing. Also, having Wifi and the washer and dryer were wonderful amenities that you will not find in many summer rentals. The surrounding neighbors were fine and we met a lovely woman and her dog who live near the entrance to the beach.

The beach is quiet and the area is quiet in general. We took our family of 5 plus 1 and the kids ages are 11 to 20. They enjoyed the house and beach very much and we went venturing when we wanted more to do, but all in all it was a relaxing week. Hampton and York are a short drive north.

We would definitely consider returning in the future to this wonderful place in one of my favorite areas of New England. THANKS AGAIN KAREN!!

My mother and I rented Karen's cottage to celebrate her 80th birthday by the ocean and we loved it. It was spotless and had every amenity we could want. The deck was great for enjoying the morning sun and coffee. The bedrooms were nice and airy. We never needed the air conditioning. Our first day on the nearby beach we were greeted by a baby seal sunning himself. He stayed about 15 minutes and then headed back out to sea. Newburyport was a great town to stroll around and do some shopping and the people were so friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway near the ocean. Karen was very hospitable and a great source for nearby places to visit. We really enjoyed our stay at her cottage and hope to return in the future.
