Guilford Gem

Guilford is a hidden gem on the connecticut shoreline; and this house is the "gem-iest". The most charming beach lies at the foot of the road. Not crowded, but friendly. My sweet little neices lived in the water, while their space starved parents lounged around the spacious and sunlit family room. The backyard deck is much bigger than pictured-same for the yard size; and leafy trees overhang to protect from too much sun. Fresh peaches and blueberries, grilled seafood, roasted corn, salty air--all contributed the a leisurely and relaxed vacation. The town of guilford has some charming restaurants. But with the beach and the barbeque, we spent the week barefoot traipsing between the two. We also went to the Ivoryton Playhouse for a terrific production of Oliver! I must mention again the size and space of the house. Being city dwellers, we loved this aspect as much as anything.
Will definitely return next summer.
