Great Long weekend

North shore Group Beverly Massachusetts
Review Submitted: October 13, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Three couples have been renting over Columbus Day Weeend for 20+ years. This home definitely has rhe best views and access to the beach. Very quiet and relaxing with plenty of room. Six adults watching TV in the living room is a bit of a squeeze though.
The kitchen is well equiped for those who prefer to cook in and the patio is great for cooking and eating outside.Great golf and shopping near by for those cool days away from the beach. We hope to return again!

Great rental!

This is a great rental. It works well for 2 families as there are 2 bedrooms upstairs as well as a bathroom, as well as 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs. Kitchen is well equipt and nice patio with grill outside. Living room has nice, clean furniture and is comfortable. The location is great, you can see the bay from the LR and kitchen window and is just a few steps from the beach. The road is quiet and had little to no traffic, as the house is the next to last on a dead end. This house is perfect for families with small children as the waters are calm and easy to walk to. We have stayed here 2 years in a row and very much enjoy our time at the Cape. Barnstable is a very nice town, not touristy, but is central to all great things on the cape---Four Seas Ice cream, Hyannis (for a touristy day), great beaches like Craigsville. IN additon, you feel completely "away from it all" at this house but you are literally 5-10 minutes from Super Stop & shop, trader joes, the mall, and most every other store you can imagine.

I've been vacationing on the Cape since I was a little girl, so I've spent a lot of weeks in a lot of cottages. This one in Barnstable beats them all. Just steps to the clean private beach, and the swimming was fine. I would recommend bringing water shoes for low tide swimming. And it is a calm inlet, so wave-seekers will need to drive a few miles to the ocean beaches if that's what you want. But for reading on the beach, there none better. As for the cottage, everything was there! The kitchen equipment was surprisingly high quality, and it was great not having to lug our own sheets and towels hundreds of miles. The wireless internet and multi-room cable were a godsend, especially on rainy days. It's a very private and serene setting, but supermarkets, the mall, restaurants and nightlife are just a quick drive away. The Optimist Cafe offered a terrific small-plates menu and a jazz ensemble. Sam Diego's is also fun and lively. Seafood Sam's is a short drive for really fresh fried clams, we got takeout from there twice. Even though we came during a rainy week, it was a really great vacation. MaryLouise was very nice to work with, and I recommend this place without reservation!

Perfect vacation spot

Antique nut Rochester, NY
Review Submitted: September 6, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We just left this home (8/30/08-9/2/08) and it is spotless. Everything is better than the description listed. All you need to bring is your swim suit, asst.clothes, food and personal items. The house, yard and patio had plenty of room, decorated very tastefully and the views are spectacular. The beach was exactly 50 yards from the house and it was beautiful. We cooked clams that we caught at the beach on the grill in the yard and had our own "surf and turf" dinner on the slate patio. The marina was within walking distance where you could find great restaurants with breathtaking scenery. There are all sorts of markets and beverage stores a short drive away. If you love seafood, there's plenty in Barnstable and very nearby. MaryLouise helped us to rent her home. She is very personable, professional and made this vacation so easy for us. She explained everything and had lots of information about the area at the house to enhance our visit. We have already recommended this great vacation home to our friends and family. We had a great time thanks to you!

Vacation with Grandchildren

AO Newburyport, MA

This home is exactly as described. It is a great place for a family with small children. The beach, at low tide, is a perfect place for exploring sea life and playing in the water. High tide is for swimmers. The neighbors are very friendly and the street is extremely safe.
The harbor is a short walk away ( less than 1/2 mile) as well as the town beach. There a two very good restaurants at the harbor and the general store and coffee shops are also within walking distance ( about one mile)
The owner is accessible and very pleasant and leaves a book with great info on shopping etc. I would recommend this cottage to friends and family.

Enjoyable Summer Get-Away

Girls Retreat Portland, ME
Review Submitted: July 21, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Have rented at this home for 2 years now for a girls get-away; 8 adults can stay comfortably. House is just steps to the beach so no need to pack a cooler. It's a quiet and scenic area, the sunsets are amazing!

You have views of the water from the kitchen and living room. There is a great covered patio off the kitchen in the back yard for those times you want to be sheltered from the sun.

Owner of this property is easy to communicate with and quite prompt in sending agreement, keys, returning security deposit, etc.

Look forward to returning...

We were 8 grad students here for the last weekend of the term. Not only did we get great work done (good wifi connection) but really enjoyed the Cape Cod atmosphere, thanks to this great house. View of the water from the cozy living room. Nice Good size even for 8 adults, comfy atmosphere, beach picnic & walks are a breeze.

Well maintained, quiet, clean, great value, very nice owners.
Owner's Response: We could not agree more about the coziness and the view! Beach is a great place to walk for all ages.

Perfect for my 3 boys (3, 5 and 6 y-old)

The title said it all, I could not have found a better place for this spring break (and the weather was fantastic, that helped for outdoor adventures).
The house is exactly what you see on the pictures and even better (spacious rooms, loved the large wooden kitchen table + benches, cozy but not small and warm, very Cape Cod feeling)
From the 2 big windows on the picture called "from the beach" you have an amazing view of the water.
The boys counted the steps everyday going to the beach : pretty much 50 ( 6 y-old's steps !) from the front yard to the beach. I could let my 3 y-old nap in the house, sit on the front yard and still see the big boys play in the sand.
The beach is not the greatest/prettiest but going towards the marina and especially at low tide, it gets much wider, just perfect for digging, running around, chasing birds etc...
Very safe, clean, no jelly fish or sea weed. Quite deserted at this time of year.

The yard (size and all) was perfect for the boys, they watered the plants (tulips and daffodils in full bloom), fed the birds and spend long moments watching them eat from the kitchen window.

Spring break : I couldn't find any ice cream parlor open and most restaurants were closed near by. But Shaws/S&Shop and the local country store had some so it did the trick.
Not many boats out to look at yet, no traffic either.
I took the 6A road (pretty drive) to travel around : 10 minutes away, there is a nice playground. Down that road (Center st or playground st) going to the beach, there is -just-a boardwalk. Fun for the kids once.

I spoke to the owner before securing the deal : very patient and understanding. Great feeling. I'll rent that house again for all the reasons above.
