There are 2 master bedrooms. One has a king sized bed, entertainment center, private full bath and balcony that overlooks Sheriff's Meadow and Nantucket Sound. The original part of this house has been in my family for 75 years. It was completely renovated 6 years ago and 4 years ago the addition was built. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Upstairs, the beautiful master bedroom suite with full balcony offers a breathtaking panoramic ocean view of Nantucket Sound and at night, Cape Cod. It is also equipped with TV/DVD/VCR. There is also a large master bathroom.

Included in the rent is the use of Black Point in Chilmark, one of the most beautiful private beaches on Martha's Vineyard. The nearest beach to the house is Fuller Street Beach, next to the lighthouse, a 15 minute walk.

Best Vacation Ever!!!

My family has been coming to Edgertown for seven years now and every year we stay at this fabulous house. It has such a great combination of antique charm from the original part of the house (the old Edgartown boathouse) to the sophistication of the beautiful, spacious, private, quiet master bedroom, master bath, and two story living room. The kitchen is better equiped than my own kitchen and we always make great use of all of the lobster cooking pots and utencils. Its location is IDEAL. It is near the end of a cul-de-sac lane. It overlooks a pond, has views of the Ocean, and is totally private. And yet two blocks away are all the downtown Edgartown restaurants and shops.

My favorite part of this vacation is that it brings our family closer together. We don't bring our car. We fly into Providence, take the 20 minute shuttle to the Rhode Island fast ferry and in a couple of hours we're landing in Oaks Bluff. We take the van to Edgartown. I generally call ahead and one of the many great bikes places will have bikes and one bike with an attached child cart (great for toting towels, boogie boards, and lunches to the beaches) waiting for us on the front lawn, helmets and all. So, we walk and bike everywhere. The kids racing ahead and laughing. If we want to visit another town on the island, we take the great transit system (they even have racks for our bikes if we wish to bring them).

We love the variety of the beaches...from perfectly calm on the bay side to some fairly intense waves on the Atlantic side. The rental even comes with a key to a beautiful private beach, although a car would be advised if you want to go. The restaurants have great variety and are quite good. My kids love to discuss which of the many restaurants we should go to that night. A tradition has become going to the Flowers Cafe during one afternoon to get one of their incredible brownie sundaes (big enough for three or four people to share). Trust me and try it with the raspberry sorbet.

The graciousness of the owners is evident in the detailed directions, quality of amenities, entries in the guest book, and call during the stay to make sure everything is satisfactory.

I have brought friends and family and everyone agrees, it is a gem of a place.
