A fun beach cottage in the quiet, residential neighborhood of 'Eastward Look', just 3 blocks from beautiful Scarborough State Beach! This fully furnished Cape Cod-style home features 2 queen size bedrooms upstairs with a full bathroom in between. These two bedrooms also have 1 twin bed or 1 roll-away twin cot, and cable TVs. Ground floor has 1 full size bedroom with cable TV, another full bathroom, dining room and kitchen with a 3 stool breakfast bar in between, and living room with a king sofa bed and 40' HDTV with DVD/VHS. Ceiling and floor fans throughout. Outside, off the dining room, is a big open deck (afternoon shaded!) with gas grill, 6 chair patio set, Adirondack chairs and tables, and bench seating for extra guests. Generous backyard is big enough for a badminton net. Off-street parking for up to 4 cars. Tennis and basketball courts on Foster Ln. on the north side of Eastward Look. Just bring groceries (there is a Super Stop and Shop near the house), towels, blankets and linens (pillows are provided but you'll need pillowcases and sheets). FUN!
Things to do: The most beautiful beaches in R.I. are all nearby, one within walking distance. Scarboro State Beach is right down the road and within walking distance. You can walk to the beach along the main road (Burnside Ave.), or you can take a quieter route by accessing the right of way on Greene Lane (3 streets over from Kingston Lane in the developement) which takes you over to Angell Rd. and then a straight shot down to the beach. Enjoy swimming, sunning, surfing, sailing, boating, boogie boarding, skim boarding, surf fishing, charter boat fishing, sail boarding, kayaking, canoeing, tennis, rollerblading, harbor tours, sightseeing cruises, sunset cruises, golfing, hiking, biking, antique hunting, or bird watching. Great seafood restaurants are everywhere. There are seafood festivals, art shows, and concerts all summer. Newport is just a short ride away, with the America's Cup World Series Races scheduled for June 2013!
Attractions & Ideas: Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center 36 Ocean Rd., 401-783-7121. Windsurfers and sailboarders love the Point Judith Lighthouse (5 min. drive) where the conditions are perfect. Surfers flock to Narr. Pier Beach. For a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean try 'the deck' at The Coastguard House Restaurant (they also have a great Sunday Brunch). Miniature golf, go-carts, batting cages, great restaurants, and shopping are all nearby. Bike or roller blade the scenic Bike Path from Old Wakefield to Kingston Train Station.Try 18 holes of one of the nicest public golf courses in R.I., Exeter Country Club. Visit historic and scenic Jamestown and Newport(cobblestone street shopping, mansion tours, The Cliffwalk, Fort Adams, and the Inn at Castle Hill are 'must see').
