WOW!!!

Jericho1706 Hilton Head, SC
Review Submitted: April 9, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This was our first trip to Kiawah, our first of many! The apartment was beautiful, well maintained, and very clean! My wife and sister-in-law are very critical people and are never satisfied with anything, but even they were happy with this place! Kiawah is a beautiful island and just a nice place to get away! We live in Hilton Head, visit Asheville many times a year, and just returned from Key West. I would reccommend Kiawah over any of these places. The apartment has everyhting you need to enjoy your stay, only steps from the beach and a great place for families or couples to just relax and get away from the hustle and bustle.
Owner's Response: Hi, Jeremy,
Thank you so very much for your kind words! We are thrilled that you and your family enjoyed our home and we look forward to having you return as our guests many times in the years ahead. We work hard to make our villa a perfect retreat and appreciate hearing that our guests enjoyed our home as much as we always do. We are always happy to assist our guests in making their visit memorable and enjoyable. We look forward to speaking with you when your next visit brings you back to beautiful Kiawah Island and our villa!
All the best,
Denise and Keith

Location, Location, Location!

While the villa itself is charming, the star of our Kiawah adventure was the Beach! It is litterally only a few steps from the foyer of the building on to the Boardwalk over the dunes, and a two minute walk on the Boardwalk (if you dawdle a bit to look at the wildlife) until you hit the Beach itself. We saw daily sunrises and sunsets, and moonrises and moonsets....plus some happy hours in the noonday sun. Wonderful.

The villa offers all you could ask for to make it a carefree vacation...comfortable beds and furniture, an exceptionally well equipped kitchen, large baths, handsome decor, and for a delightful finishing touch, 3 large Audubon prints in extraordinary frames. The oh, so welcoming leather sofa is another great touch. It's all tastefully well done, clean and inviting.

And did I mention the Beach!

This villa is somewhat removed from the more trafficked and congested areas of Kiawah and the new Sanctuary hotel, to the absolute benefit of the vacationer. The beach was uncrowded even in midday, and gorgeously empty in the moonlight. At dawn - a particular favorite of ours, there are probably more dogs splashing about than people walking and shell hunting. If you are lucky you wil see baby turtles crawling to the sea, (or nests of recently laid eggs, deer up close and personal, and even bobcats.

Yes, we intend to return!

Comfortable and Classy

It was very lovely! The condo is beautiful and very comfortable. We had such a great time and were so very busy. My brother & sister in law had every detail imaginable planned to perfection for their wedding. We were Blessed with beautiful weather just 1 hour before the wedding and throughout the remainder of the weekend!
My parents were very happy with the accommodations and it was so easy for them to come and go. They are in their 80's and it was very important for them to have accessibility. When we first arrived there was a deer in the parking lot of the Shipwatch villas waiting for us to get there. He walked across at a very leisurely pace and was not at all disturbed by us. We saw plenty of wildlife and a couple of gators on the golf course. I must say that I enjoyed strolling on the beach as much as anything!
Thank you again and I will definately check out the availability at Martha's Vineyard and will recommend your "HOMEAWAY" to my friends!
Owner's Response: Carol, thank you so very much for your kind words. It was lovely getting to know you and I am so happy that your brother's wedding was such a special event. I'm glad that you found our villa to be so comfortable and accessible for your parents -- and that you enjoyed strolling on the beach just steps from our villa. Kiawah Island is a truly beautiful place filled with happy memories for our family -- we're glad that your visit was memorable -- and we look forward to having you return as our guests at Kiawah or Martha's Vineyard. Thank you for the recommendations to your friends -- our guests are our best advertisement!

Wonderful place and relaxing

Less than an hour away from Summerville, we felt like we were a million miles away. This is a lovely place, wonderful atmosphere and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and walk to the beach - a piece of cake! The night heron pool was heated and drinks by the pool... fantastic. Everyone on Kiawah was incredibly nice (not easy to find these days). A quick drive to Freshfields will find anything you need. Heges restaurant FANTASTIC! The Santuary is a real treat to see and dinner by their pool was charming.

WOW! An A+++ Vacation Villa

G-Wiz Brewster, MA, USA
Review Submitted: March 17, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My husband and I had a fanatastic time on our first trip to Kiawah Island. We really enjoyed our stay in this villa. The beds are very comfortable with lovely bedding. The shower in the master bathroom is huge. Plently of dishes, glasses, small appliances, etc are all in working order. We were not missing anything. The location was convenient to the Straw Market. There is a fitness center there that guests can use free of charge (obtain the code upon check-in). We used it everyday. The ocean is down a short boardwalk from the villa. Beautiful! Walked on the shore everyday.
We found a great salad bar, groceries, homemade desserts, etc at Newton Farms Market at nearby Freshfields Village. It's worth a visit and the prices were less than at home (Cape Cod).
We biked out to the Ocean Course. The trails are good and flat (easy). We also biked along the beach (highly recommend trying that). We saw many egrets, herons, and "Big Daddy" (big alligator). The staff at the Golf Resort were always helpful and would try to make our vacation stress-free. We did not golf but the courses looked awesome. Tennis is within walking distance to the villa.
Charleston is only 21 miles to the north and traffic even during rush hour is not too bad. We went into Charleston 6 times during our stay. Tons of things to do.
Overall, this was an A+++ vacation. Loved staying in this villa and plan to return again in the future. I would highly recommend this villa to my friends and family.

A home away from home at the beach!

Becky, Esther & Leon Cumming, Ga, USA
Review Submitted: June 14, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
This is our fourth stay at this particular villa. The unit has been furnished as a lovely personal home rather than your typical rental. The villa has been remodeling with granite, stainless & tile. It is HUGE! There were only three of us but this unit comfortably accomodates six. The living room is spacious, dining room great and bedrooms bigger than at my home. The bathrooms are in perfect condition with a master bath to die for! The furnishings are of high quality with plush bedding. There is a balcony off the master bedroom, 2nd bedroom and even the living room. This villa has plenty of space to spread out. It is on the second floor and because of how the building sits, it is in the treetops. Your view is of lush green foilage. Sleep with the glass walls open as there is always a breeze. This unit faces the trees, not the ocean However, having stayed on the ocean side before, it is hot with no shade. This is a better choice. The villa is located in a building with many sizes of villas. This model is the largest two bedroom and a great value for Kiawah. We already have reservations to come back. It's location near Beachwalker Park puts you in walking distance of the inlet where the dolphins come in every day to put on a show for the tourists who walk down the easy 1.5 mile strowl on the beach. This unit and location could not be better!
