Spinnaker, with its close proximity to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and Seashore, is a beautiful quiet spot for a late winter getaway. This was our first trip to Chincoteague Island and we couldn't of been happier with our accommodations. The house was clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the water. Watching the sunrise from the dining room, was a perfect way to start the day. Temperatures were too cold to be able to enjoy the screened in porch, but we did make use of the fireplace. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spinnaker to family and friends, and it is definitely a place I plan to return to.

Our time at the Spinnaker house was wonderful. It was a true retreat and greatly needed. The house is wonderful with water views from practically every room. We vacationed with our three kids and my mother in law. There was plenty of space for everyone! The house was well appointed and came with many extras such as sundries, a well equipped kitchen, books, dvds, and games.

The kids and I would walk around the property by the dock nightly and would gaze at the wonderful night sky filled with millions of visible stars. Truly extraordinary.

There was a cord of wood ready for our use and we did make good use of it. Every night we relaxed by the fire and the kids enjoyed toasting marshmellows.

The beach which is in a nearby national park was also wonderful. The town is truly unadulterated without a chain restaurant in site. It was nice to step away from the commercial if only for a few days.

We were at the Spinnaker for Presidents Day weekend and the weather was wonderful. Clear, crisp, and sunny.

None of us wanted to leave and we look forward to returning soon.

Overall it was a memorable experience for all.

Thank you!

Very much enjoyed the house in a neat neighborhood on Chincoteague. Visited for Thanksgiving with 5 adults and 2 small children. Lots of smallish rooms yields good privacy/space. WAter access fantastic -- canoed daily (brought our own). Highly recommend long-ish trip to Asseteague.

We had a Great vacation at Spinnaker House. One of the nicest rental properties we have stayed at over the years. We enjoyed the screened porch and watching the geese, etc. We also enjoyed the quiet nights with no noise other than a "flyover" from a seagull. A really nice house. All of the windows made even the gloomiest day very pleasant. We have been coming to the Island since the Early 80's, with our kids. Now that we're retired and no kids to tag along , we've enjoyed it even more [although we do do love our children] ---but Mom & Pop have to get away at least once a year.--ha..We will definitely be coming back..

We got back yesterday evening from a memory filled Memorial Day Holiday with three nights at Spinnaker, one of the loveliest rental properties I have ever stayed in with my son and his family including four children. Everything was "clean as a whistle" which tells you my age. The kitchen was filled with beautiful dishes, pots and pans and bowels and every gadget you can imagine, all kinds of spices, sugar, coffee, you name it. All you had to do was bring in was mayo, bread, lunch meat and you were all set. I had mentioned this was a total surprise for my family and we found a beautiful cake on the dining room table with "Surprise" written on it and a fresh flower arrangement in the living room. The views were "to die for". I could have just sat on the screened porch with my cup of coffee and not gone anywhere. The memory the children will carry with them forever is the opportunity to use the crab pots provided for our use. They had hours of fun and also learned how to tell a male from a female crab, as well as how to cook and crack them. I highly recommend the Chincoteague Island area as a vacation destination especially if you have children or grandchildren. They will love it and you will too!

We stayed at Spinnaker over the President's Day weekend in February 2008. The weather was cold but perfect. We appreciated the touch of fresh flowers waiting for us. The views were great, the accommodations were very nice, and the overall trip was enjoyable. We will definately consider staying here in the future.

I have just arrived in this house and it is almost nine at night .... It was a 3 hour drive from Annapolis, MD and it is my firt time coming. My mom has been here before and she claims it was wonderful. My name is Stirling, the ten year old fifth grade, son of Kimrey mom) and Marty (dad, deceased) and I hope to write in this journal everyday until I leave. It is dark now so I can't see that much of the land, yet from what I do see, I'm sure by morning it will have blossomed into a beautiful landscape. I will write in this again tomorrow, oh yes .... thank you for the gorgeous flowers -- to Pat and Harmen 'Stirling

I have just woken up and the visions filling my head I cannot believe.
Although I haven't experienced the full beauty and I will write later today, describing it

I have just gotten back from a twelve mile bike trip, then the ocean and now I'm reading my new book. I have had a great time and I am leaving, Monday, which is such a shame. I will write again tomorrow.

I have just gotten back from a great beach and 8 mile paddle in a kayak. There were turtles and fish everywhere and the beach was nothing but shells, oyster shells, conch shells, moon, snail shells, all types of shells ! We have been doing great things this whole time, and I will write again tomorrow the day I have to leave.

I am leaving today and I want to say goodbye. I am going to breakfast, then a couple of shops, then leaving.
Goodbye
Shincoteague!

Our Spinnaker Thanksgiving was one to remember. Hard to tell who enjoyed it the most - the adults or the grandkids! Since we've been home, there isn't a day that goes by that our 4 year old granddaughter doesn't talk about returning. Next time she wants to stay for "13 days."

Thanks, Pat, for providing such a wonderful place to visit. We intend to return soon and build more wonderful memories.

Having our children and first grandchild with us for a week at Spinnaker was a very special occasion. The house is lovely, beautifully situated, fully equipped and well, ...very welcoming.
The Hutchings couldn't be nicer, answered any question, even some fairly silly ones...we had a wonderful week!

I rented Spinnaker the weekend of Feb. 17th for a VERY special occasion.....the first meeting of someone I had been corresponding with for months. While we knew so much about each other already, we had never met face to face....so the location needed to be perfect. I could not have chosen a more perfect "start" to our "forever" story. Even though it was just the two of us, the home was so cozy. During the stay, it was incredibly cold, but we thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful fireplace....Mrs. B made sure we had plenty of firewood! The house is tastefully decorated and furnished with all the "comforts of home." The owners even had a very special cake waiting for us when we arrived, and shortly afterward an arrangement of flowers arrived. Even though it was the dead of winter, many shops were open, so we ventured out and took in the "sights." A warm fireplace, the beautiful scenery, some good wine, hand-picked DVD's, and some slow dancing in the great room....it was like a fairy tale for me. My now "significant other" could not believe the trouble that we all went to to make this weekend special. Needless to say, this house, and those involved with it, are responsible for me relocating soon to be with my "honey." Thanks to all who made this possible!!!! Spinnaker will forever remain close to our hearts, and we look forward to returning!
